Personally I wouldn't.

Ive got to ask is it coolant that is leaking? If so cut the vacuum breaker off the radiator cap so the cooling system cant build pressure. This is kind of a red neck way but it should buy you that time.

If you don't want to,cut the the radiator cap just put it on with a quarter turn. It will stay in place and not build pressure.

You can limp home on it that way.

Not building pressure in the system.

Is that good

Not really. That means it's pushing the coolant out if the cap is still sealing. This is why I suggested cutting the vacuum breaker on the cap. It just ensures the system vents the pressure into the coolant bottle and not on the ground.

What would cause head warp

Like Mike mentioned coolant flushes and another overlooked factor could be newly discovered alternator ground problem, causing electrolysis. Alternator is grounded through the engine and it's mounted next to thermostat housing where a lot of these develop leaks.

Is there a write up on 12 valve headgasket on here

You might try to track down @Cowboy he's a 12 valve guru of sort and last I remember he did a port job on his 12 valve head. So he would know about the head gasket job.
