So looking at is some more.

Logged in on their site the “unread” button brings up a “Unread Content” listing, in which no thread is repeated.

Not logged into their site the “unread” button brings up a “all content” listing.

So it appears that how they have it setup.

On this forum the “unread” button brings up unread content, but it’s displaying all content.

Here are some screenshots. As you can see they are different listings.

Yup... Been packing my laptop and cellphone for internet for the last 4 years tending to Moparmom's dialysis and allow me to continue working from the truck. Here shortly I'll get my tonneau cover fixed and pack basic tools and A/C stuff and do A/C work in Ontario, OR. In the meantime, I want to focus on the website for now and the pile of rigs at home. Then get my surgery done and gain my life back.

Now your not playing fair. Go in and start reading stuff and then go back and forth eventually they stack up which is normal because you skipped that one. I can create the same results on ANY IPS website just knowing how the Activity Stream works.

That is the only setting there isn't any other settings.

There has to be something else to adjust... just looking at the fact that the “unread” button does at least two different things on their website.

Ok. I ran into a weird limitation. Like the coupon part of the system can't be used in the purchase of subscriptions. I've posted over on IPS as a suggestion to add it as a function.

https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/452324-coupons-used-against-subscription-plans/

To think my way around this. I'm going to make the registering member will drop in a permission group called "Test Drive". This is a clone of the Silver plan. Then there is a filter to move a member from one permission set to another permission set. I'm going to move any member that is in "Test Drive" over 30 days back to "Member". Now you would have to buy into a subscription plan.

Another bonus. For members that are selling "Quadzilla Tunes", your balance of credits can be used towards the purchase of your next membership subscription.

Having problems getting the member to expire back to free member from test drive. I'm exhausted and going to give up for the night.

Good morning everyone... My first step of placing new registered members in a "Test Drive" Group is working. Already took in 6 people. Now to see if the newbies roll out of the group after 30 days.

The subscriptions are laid out and brief descriptions placed on each.

I've got to roll through and redo the permissions for each level.

I've got to disable the old donations so no farther donations occur through that plugin. But I've got to leave it in place for existing members to continue running.

Take the "Members" group and turn off the ability to reply or create topics.

@Mopar1973Man so when do we need to pay for our subscription?

When your runs out in a one year time.

Also just wanted to make sure you received my 2 donations.

Two donations are recorded 5/7/19. One to medical and one to personal.

I am super excited to see how this new system works out.

I'm trying to bench test everything in flight without stopping the site and without disrupting any current account. This is a feat of skill for sure. Being able to create test member and jump through the process and test every bit of each step out. My only concern is the "Test Drive" group if it will downgrade as programmed yet.

@AH64ID

Even after @Me78569 tried he got the same answer I've got all along... This is normal behavior.

Hello.

My apologies, it seems that I, and my colleague, gave you incorrect info about what should show when those filters are applied.

What you are seeing is intended behavior.

On your site, you had several answers in a row to the same topic, all of which appear to have been made before any post was added to a different topic. So all 5 circled replies do show up "in a row". The submittal times of all posts do go in order from newest (top) to oldest (bottom).

In testing this myself on our site with the same filters applied, I am seeing the same result, but the entries are separated by nearly a full page in my case, because our site is quite busy with content added very frequently.

There is no provision in Streams to show just one entry for a given topic which has more than one new post in it.

But this is an enhancement I'd like to see too, so I'd encourage you to post in the Feedback section of our forum where others can add their support to the idea.

Regards,

He’s wrong.  Show him the photos I took seconds apart. Two different titles even for the same button depending on if you’re logged in to not. I went thru pages on their site.

But alas, whatever. Just makes the site a PITA to find new threads and certainly won’t encourage paid membership.

Here are two more screenshots. I went back thru 5 days of activity and did not see one single thread repeated twice if I was logged in. How am I the only one seeing this?

IPS has way more active topics and stacking is rare.

Again, wrong. Are you even looking at the screenshots I’ve posted? Stacking is occurring in those photos, so that theory is debunked.

Again this is normal for this software.

Define normal then.  The same button on the same software is doing at least 3 different things. So, which one is “normal”?

Trying something new. Here is a screen video showing how it works on their website, despite being told it doesn’t.

At first I am logged and and select unread content. No thread stacking. Then I log out, go back and reselect unread content. Now it has thread stacking.

The software appears to have the ability to eliminate the thread stacking... so why can’t anyone figure out how?
