First off I am still figuring out everything on my new pickup and this site has been full of information, thanks a lot. The previous owner told me that he had put a bolt in the wastegate and I wouldn't have to worry about getting to high of boost pressures. I have a boost gauge but I am still worried about blowing the turbo up when I get a chip for hauling. I was wondering what you guys think about this little modification.

So the batteries in my truck are 70 month old. They work great, no issues. They are a little slower in winter, but thats to be expected. They are not slow enough to even worry about... So here is the dilemma, they are 70 months old! I hunt 70 miles from the nearest electricity and if the weather turns to crap at 6-9K feet the starting power might be needed so I want new batteries. I am looking at Sears batteries as they give a great military discount. The two batteries I am looking at are the Sears Platinum and the Sears DieHard Gold. The Platinum is an Odessy battery with Sears paint (info direct from Odessy) and is rated at 950 CCA. The Gold is 750 CCA. The pair…

Go about washing my truck when I've got a front seal leak that is essentially covering my truck with oil?????? I cannot get it into the shop for at least a 2-3 weeks. to get it repaired. I've washed my truck now for 3 days in a row. Not that it needed it, but to try to get the oil/dirt stains off the white paint. Today I used "straight" concentrated car wash soap. It helped, but didn't clean completely. HELP!!!

What is your option on brands of 4" exhaust? I am running a MBRP 5" on my 01 its ok but a little to much for the newer truck. And tell you the truth I think I lost low end torque with the 5".Its been a while since I played with exhaust. I went thru 4 sets on my 01. Stock 3", 4" straight, 4" muffler, 5" straight with 5" stacks, to 5" muffler. I am sure there is some new stuff by now.

Its been a while since I've on here so I have to say I'm sorry! Life has been crazy to say the least. One of the things I've been dealing with is something with my truck... I had my injectors tested and they came back bad so I had mine cleaned, extrude honed, flow tested and balanced. They all came back at 29lpm, put them in my truck following all torque specs to the T, truck runs better and has no more throttle hang! Now comes the help part.... Before the injectors were tested I had this vibration start, it vibrates at idle and while cruising more so under acceleration but when I'm in the throttle at higher speed 65+ it's smooth like it should be. I've b…

HellI I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 with the 5.9 Cummins. This truck is stock at the moment except I do have a smarty touch on it. This truck has 240000 I bought it with 218000 about a year ago with a bad transmission. I don’t know much history on it but I imagine it has the original injectors. It has a 3” lift with 35’s in stock 17” wheels. The gas mileage is horrible like 10.5-12mpg doesn’t matter how I drive it. It seems to get worse with highway driving. I just drove from California to Georgia to Colorado and back to California I was only getting 11mpg on average. Before anyone says anything this was hand calculated not from the lieometer. I’m only getting 370 miles or…

Hey guys, I recently bought a 2008 Dodge 3500 6.7 4x4 6 speed. The truck is bone stock with 158k. Just wondering your thoughts on deleting and tuning the truck. I have done a little research and I'm not sure if I can even purchase the parts to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Guys, need some input, which will help me decide which way to go from here. Try to follow.... I have an 01 Ram that is sittng until I fix the front end. Body damage and front frame rail is tweaked, deciding on how to fix that still... Anyways, Truck has a HTT 62/65/12, This turbo was destined to be a top turbo for this truck. I got an 05 Ram, since I wrecked the 01...Currently just a Smarty on it. I'm getting twins. Most bang for my buck: 05: I say take the 62/65/12 from my 01 and install it on a 2nd gen exhaust manifold, over something like a s475, or could I go to an S480? Limiting thing on the 05, is I dont want to have to run dual CP…

I just stuck gauges in my 07.5 DRW. I noticed on flattish ground at 70mph, 6th gear (G56) I'm at 2150-2200 (3.73) RPM, 900-1100*F, and about 16-18k RP. Boost is zero.. In my old '96, it'd carry about 6-8psi, and about 750-900F EGTs.. Is this normal for a 6.7? No boost, and EGTs that high? It's all stock. Thanks.

I have an 08 2500 4X4 standard shift with 455000 miles on it. This is a work truck so no mods other than the deletes with the smarty sr. The front control arm bushings are shot. I am wondering if I should stick with oem or go to some kind of after market control arms? If I go after market what brand and where to purchase them? I just started to remove the drivers side lower and found the cam bolt froze up. I am fixing to invest in an air hammer to see if that will push it on out. When that back one just slid right out I thought this is going to be a piece of cake. Lol! Anyway if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.

Since last week my truck start to CHUG when I drive it at any speed, it look like the transmission shift for no reason and send a signal to the engine to drop rpm. If I put the transmission on neutral I get the full rpm but as soon I put it back to drive it start to chug. I clean the conectors on the transmissiom and on the conector where the gas pedal sensor is and put dielectric on the conector, I found nothing wrong there out of some oil in one conector. The transmission fluid is good. Last night I make the truck sleep in the garage, this morning it was working fine, but after work on my way back home it start again, we have some snow here and the first time it start…

My dad and I installed sway bars on our trucks this weekend. We both went with Hellwigs, I got the standard bar and he got the big wig. I don't haul/tow all that heavy, but there isn't a straight road around here so I figured it was a good idea, and my dad has a Lance 8' camper and tows a 16' stock trailer behind it. The install was pretty easy, only issue is we couldn't get the end links at a perfect 90° angle because we both have Class-V hitches. The angles aren't bad and are about 85-87°. They made a very noticeable change. My truck empty is much more stable driving around, and with a trailer it's great. I don't have many miles on it yet, but should hit some winding r…

Found 2 location options and was looking for opinions on which you think would be best option. debate. First pic is a secondary option which measures cyl 1-3 and is supposed to read hotter than the preferred position in the second pic of the rear collector area. In my mind the hotter the temps one sees it is more realistic of what is actually happening. http://www.dieselmanor.com/diy/CMS3-gauge/CMS-gen3gaugeinstall.htm

My WTS light when I first cycle the key every time is on for 5 seconds now that it is getting colder down into the 40's the light still only stays on for 5 seconds, used scan tool to manually activate both relays and both would come on, but when I turn the key on I can't here then click on for a cold start like the truck doesn't know it's cold and doesn't cycle them, replaced IAT sensor yesterday and still nothing, don't have a scan tool that I could check the temps before first start but I let it sit in the shop for 5 hours and let everything cool off and used scan tool and everything seemed to read correctly so what is my issue? Bad connection or relay or what I have be…

I have come upon an '05 3500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.9 and 48re auto for sale. It wears the Laramie badge and has the navigation radio set up. The owner has moved to Hawaii and left the truck behind for relatives to sell.It looks really clean and has no accident history. It has had a total of two previous owners making me the third if I purchase it.It is just at 90k on the clock. I have driven it and it runs really good and goes like crazy. It has the HO engine and everything is stock expect the tires. The owner is running 285's instead of the stock 265's.There is one problem that I have identifed on this unit. The seat heaters don't work but everything else seems t…
