I know this topic has probably been addressed many times here, but what is the root cause of the # 4 line failures in CRs? I talked to a guy the other day who drives a 2011 service truck with 260k miles on it, and he said he was stranded once on the interstate with a #4 line failure... This seems to be an unresolved issue??

Newbie here, and this I my first post. I am a 61 year old farmer in South Carolina and my truck is a 2006 Dodge 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins. I'm about to hit 150,000 miles on the odometer and consider this truck just barely broken in. The transmission is a Garmon Stage 2, built 2 years ago, and I run an EFI Live tow tune. Of all the trucks I've owned since 1978, this one is by far my favorite. At least till now, Lol. About a year ago it started cycling the torque converter in and out between 45 and 50 mph. This problem occurred before I put the EFI Live tune on it. I have taken it back to Garmon twice and to my local transmission shop many times with no improvement. …

So I need to relocate my Frantz system it is currently located on the exhaust manifold but the metal plate keeps bending and I think I want to relocate it to the frame. So my question is where can I get more of the oil line from? The line is a high temp and high pressure line so exactly how hot? The hose I have been looking at are good for 190 degrees I think that is to low. On Frantz website they want $80 for a a 8 foot section. So any thoughts guidance would be much appreciated.

It has been a while since I have drained my filters, so today I did. Almost a year later and no water. I always buy fuel at truckstops or Wally World here in town. Is it normal to not have any water?2003 Ram Cummins NV5600 with gauges and a Smarty! Not much more.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok boys and girls, I know I have been MIA, have had a lot going on, now I am back and I am in need of help!!! Driving my 06 Ram 3500 CR 5.9 to town the other morning, everything was going well then I felt a vibration and noticed the gear shifting was dancing. I clutched it and the truck seem to be running ok, slowed down to about 25 mph trying to find a wide safe spot to stop. When ever I pulled over I noticed I had a significant amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust. Turned truck off called a buddy went to the shop and got my rollback, (thank goodness I own the towing company...lol) towed the truck to shop, hooked up the diagnostic tool found one code about spee…

Looking for some help here folks. I have a no start on my truck. The no bus signal is up in the odometer. I have a very loud buzz coming from the asd relay. I have tried repalcing that. Still nothing. I pulled every fuse and relay and checked them. I put a new pcm in that made no difference. I pulled the ecm and sent it in for checking over, and it came back good. I know I am missing the key on signal, but am looking for some advice on tracking this down. I also checked and cleaned all the grounds I could find. Towing to a dealer not really and option where I live. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRQdt1Uv/ Client called and asked me to come out and look at a oil leak on 2006 Dodge Cummins. When I open the hood I knew already. Over 200k on the injectors and most likely wiped out number 6 piston. Watch the TikTok.

Ok my trans will skip 2nd when your light on the throttle and go straight to 3rd and when you start easing into it it will down shift to second then go thru the gears just fine. Is this what they call hunting? It's not just doing it one or two times a day it will do it almost everytime, except if you are heavy on the throttle.

Good morning, all, and hello old friends 2008 2500 with G56 trans. Changed to a SMF and DD clutch. After doing so, I get horrid "gear rollover" in neutral, as well as in gears. In neutral, no clutch depressed, it's quite noisy. If I slightly push the shift lever towards a gear, it immediately goes quiet. Does this at all gear positions. If I let the shifter rest, it's quite noisy again.. Anyone experienced this? I mean, I understand there'll be 'gear rollover' when going from DMFW to SMFW, as the vibration transmitted is increased a little, but this is nuts.. Thanks.

Since the 05 is just a backup rig and tow rig primarily it has not been used a lot the last couple years, "7500 miles on it since the last service August of 2014" . Decided since the steering is getting loose it was time to get her on the hoist and look her over and do a major end to end service including all filters all fluids except coolant, did a t-stat last service and it was replaced with new then and adjust trans bands. Pulled the steering gear out and sending it to Blue top steering steering for a "Quality" rebuild since this is already a cardone replacement several years ago and already loose as a goose. Herding cats down the road in a straight line would be …

ok bill, you suggested i 'fire up' a thread, so here i go! [popcorn ready? ] Since i 'applied' your 'old' smartyJR , i have noticed lite black smoke under [easy] throttle; enough to notice when i watch for it . Heavy throttle = a 'nice' cloud of black & thats ok, i will not be there long! Only changes i made of late are i swapped my old trucks flo-pro exh. & made it a CAT back, 4'' w/ 24'' straight through muffler. The exit pipe is at a better place for me to watch now so maybe its always been blowing black?. Truck starts great & idles clean. Smarty smoke?, or sloppy injectors? I did the 'rev. to 3000rpms for 10 sec. & let off test' & it comes dow…

Ok here is the skinny on my Smarty touch install with pics of where I stuffed things. I put all of the wiring and remote module in the open compartment of the left side of the dash where on some models there would be a fuse panel but in my case it was an open void just the perfect size for the touch components. There was an opening in the dash frame just the perfect size to get the OBDII cable end through and the other thing with the orange and yellow dot is the EGT probe hookup point which converts to the Touch module with another cable all of which wrapped up nicely and all fit in the cubby together. I think the pics will be self explanatory but you can ask about th…

Just got done changing out all the fluids on my truck. Diffs, tranny, transfer case, coolant, power steering, blinker and engine oil. It's been a consensus that one should overfill the NV5600 tranny by a quart for as long as I can remember. In the service manual, it says that the tranny will hold 9.5 pints, or 4.75 quarts. If you drain and refill on level ground until the fluid runs out the top bolt hole of the PTO cover, you'll likely only get about 4-4.25 quarts back in. Well when I drained mine, I let her drain over night on level ground. Only 5 quarts drained out. Could've sworn that I had more in there. Anyhow; when I refilled, this time I got 6.25 qu…

I am new to this forum and really enjoy the education from all the posts. Just tested my turbo system and found a decent boost leak in the hose from the turbo to the intercooler. Started hearing the hissing sound at about 10psi. Have had some power issues with this truck and i am hoping this is the problem. Would this boost leak essentially keep the truck from fueling as it should? When i am pulling my 5th wheel this truck is really a slug. If i am thinking correctly the sensors will not see boost and therefore will not call for fuel. The truck smokes very little when pulling anything and will give a little puff when I goose it in neutral. This is my first diesel …

HELP!!! I've tranplanted a 2006 HPCR into a 2000 Ford Excursion 4x4 with an Allison 1000 5-speed and I CANNOT get it to fire. Anyone got any ideas? I had Bob Wagner (Smarty) program the ECU to shut off the SKIM requirement and make it into a "stickshift" so I can run the Allison TCM as a stand alone. I have 90hp injector tips, a modified cam and have bypassed all the wiring I can think of just to eliminate potential problems so I can get it running, but it simply will NOT fire without a shot of NO-NO fluid, but will not keep running. Once the ether is gone, no fire, period. Also, it appears that the oil pump is losing it's prime if it sits overnight and won't pump …

While there are two decent filter choices for the OE filter canister on the 3rd gen (OEM and Baldwin) I wanted better filtration. Bosch would like to see 5 micron filtration on the CP3 and injectors and Dodge only supplies 7. The Baldwin PF7977 is 5 microns, but I still wanted more. After hours of research online and with filter manufactures I decided on adding 2 additional filters to my system. I added a Baldwin BF1212 on between the tank and the OE filter bowl and a Cat 1R-0750 between the OE filter bowl and the CP3. Why these filters. The BF1212 is a 20 micron absolute (97.88% actually, so not quite absolute), 4 micron nominal filter that has fuel/wa…
