I read these posts about members wanting to go to 19.5" wheels and tires. I had been looking into them myself and have a website all of you guys and gals should take a look at. There is a lot of information about changing to 19.5" wheels and tires, including what the affects will be on the Speedometer/Gearing and such. Take a look. Ricksontruckwheels.com. Hope to talk to all again soon. Your friend Pepe.

Ball joints needed replacement so I thought I would tackle that job myself and then at the same I would install my Spyntech Shorty free wheel hubs that have been sitting in my garage for over a year now. I also had a steering brace that I wanted to get installed. While I am at it I thought I might as well do a needed brake job and replace the u-joints on the stub shafts since I had everything apart. I think doing all this work at once actually will save me a significant amount of time over doing each job separately when everything reached the end of its life. While in the middle of the project I have made a note that I need to replace my front sway bar links…

I ordered the 4 door kit today.........$265.00 delivered.:spend: My temp dial/blend door is not working so well, and I don't think my recirculation door is working either. Oh well!! Gotta wait for some warmer weather to tackle this though.

so i have the filter spread sheet pic that AH64ID had from a few years ago. it's a bit out dated. so i'm after the current list. right now i run the oil LF 9028 fuel f5320 fuel baldwin 7977 as one can see i like the better line of filters. i usually run valvoline 15/40 and or 5/40 pending what's on sale. i only run till about 7500 miles. my thoughts are going with. DBL7349 ff5814 if i can find one. P553203/553207 so what's the best ones to get today. thanks for any thoughts you feel like sharing.

  5. Well its the farmer boy again,.... i sold the 98.5 ram now NOW i got the $ & its time to service the trans. The pan gasket leaks The oil needing a change [dark] The shifting [more so under lite throttle] is vague/etc. feels like more then 3 'under drive' gears, not firm/sure. It seems the TC is extra loose, more rpms then 'i' think necessary to get moving. i hardly tow as of now. HERE IS WHAT I HAVE; SMARTY JR / AIR FLOW IMPROVEMENTS / i want to be able to 'sensibly' USE the power for driving [surprise!!] ,towing, & running down groundhogs. YOUR TURN!

Hello to all, today I noticed a small puddle of coolant under the truck and when I opened the hood I found a pinhole in the core of the radiator. I am in the middle of a 6 day job and don't have much time between sleep and work for research. Does anyone know of any good quality & fitment radiator manufacturers ? Unfortunately i can not afford oem at the moment so I am looking for the best alternate option, thank you.

Having an interesting issue with my truck. Trying to load the engine under approx. 1K rpm, it starts to shudder, pedal goes dead, or at least no affect on the engine, real rough idle which drops to about 5-600rpm. Itll catch itself and jump up to a return idle. If I baby it and keep the rpms > 1K not to much an issue. Just for increased clutch wear. Doing some research, I unlugged the fca, Had bad fuel knock. However it didn't do it Only tried it three times. Does this make sense? Still might not be the FCA. Any way to troubleshoot it? I hate just throwing parts at it. Just for heck of it, while driving past a certified scale, I turned in and got MightyWhitey weighed. Just me in the truck, no dogs, no trailer, minimal stuff inside, and 7/8 tank of fuel. Steer axle..............................4680lbs. Drive axle..............................3300lbs. Gross weight.........................7980lbs. If I put just 2 of my dogs, plus some more dog training stuff I regularly use, I'd surely be pushing 8200lbs. Then is I put the 3rd dog in the truck............ When we drive to NoDak, we normally have 3 guys and 2-3 dogs in my truck and a heavy tool kit, jack, etc.........Wouldn't surprise me that the truck alone is pushing 90…

  10. I rotated my tires a while ago, just because I'd not done it in a while. Truck tracked straight and true, no problems. However; right after rotating, I had a pull to the right and the steering seems less responsive. Drove for about 3-4000 miles this way, and couldn't take it any longer. I did the normal rotation pattern I've always done...................rears straight forward to the front, and the fronts crossed to the rears. Anyhow, the truck is back to driving like it was prior to the previous rotation. The drivers side front, which is now on the passengers side rear, was wearing very strangely. Seem to be like every other lug, or every third lug block on the i…

For those that don't know or recall the specs of the engine they are in the link in my sig.. BLUF: 7730 miles and 600 gallons which means an average mpg of 12.88. Simply put those where not the easiest miles one could put their truck thru. 3636.8 miles of towing (47%) where at least 2500 were above 18K GCW and nearly all of those where in/around the Idaho Mountains. Average speed was 29mph and at least 300-400 of the miles where towing on slow dirt roads with grades well over 10% in places. I also have approx 40% more power than stock and ~90hp injectors. Oil is Amsoil AME with a Donaldson ELF7349, 15um. and an Amsoil EaBP-110, 2um, bypass. My OEM motor ne…

On my 04.5 I've been having some coolant and trans temp issues. Coolant temps go up to about 200-210 and trans temps get to about 160-175. I've replaced the water pump,180 degree thermostat, a new fan clutch and the trans temp is reading from the pan. I know the trans temps aren't bad but it normally doesn't get above 150-155 on a 90+ degree day. Coolant on the other hand never got above 180 unless i was working the truck hard. After a 15-20 min drive is when things start to heat up, stays there for a few minutes and then creeps slowly back to normal. And this is with highway, city and or just idling in neutral. Doesn't matter. I don't have any coolant or trans fluid mixi…

I have an Amsoil remote oil bypass kit with a home made mount and location I came up with originally on my 02 and integrated it to my 05. behind that you can see the Fuel filter kit I installed from Vulcan performance with a 3 micron Donaldson filter between the OEM filter and the CP3.

Back in 2012 Fleetguard put out a press release on some spin-on NanoNet filters, which is the same 3um media used on the 2010+ OEM filters. From what I can tell it is one of the best filters available... Anyhow after 3 years of calling my local Cummins to get the filters they finally got them in stock. The FF5814 is the replacement for the Donaldson P551313 or Cat 1R-0750 that many of us use. 3um at 98.7% 99.6 GPH 74.82gr dirt holding capacity. One brochure had 4um at a Beta 200, which is 99.5%. The ISO standard used is multipass vs the older single-pass but it appears that OEM's are starting to ask for the multi-pass ratings and not single-pass anymore. I boug…

Hello to all, I have been having some idle issues for a while now and it has started to get worse so I ordered the FCA (fuel control actuator) and COV. everything came in from Geno's including instructions for the FCA, but I did not receive anything regarding the COV. I have done some searching online and cant find anything on the removal/install process all I got was info and specs about the COV. The removal looks pretty straight forward but my concern is will I need any additional gaskets or seals to install the new COV and what are the torque specs for it. Hope Some one can help, thank you all for your time.

About three days ago he came by and I said to him your truck sounds like it has a miss. He said it started that a few days ago, not really a dead miss but just slight. I told him to change fuel filter, and he said it was past due. Well on the way home it got worse, so he pulls head and #4 has part of the piston cracked and missing (out the exhaust my guess) so he puts it back together and off to the dealership he go's. Well first stop they didn't like what they heard so he goes to the next, hook line and sinker they offer him 18k for it and he gripes about the electric 4x4 knob on the 2015 3/4 4x4 and how he wasn't going to pay that much for it and they cut him another 1k…
