Just a heads up if you have a 3rd Gen and happen to have a weak connection or on connection on the grid heater power wire it can and will pop the grid heater light and chime as well just like a fuel rail issue. If you pop the hood and don't see any fuel leaks then proceed to get to home or safe place. Get your code reader out and check I'm going to bet there is a code for grid heater performance. Once the problem is fixed and the code cleared the light will remain off. In my case I've unhooked it back in the summer time be I was having a charge issue for the batteries and forgot it was unhooked. No hard starts. Funny part is the light tripped after 30 miles of driving and…

Here are two pictures of the 4 bolts that are in the flange on the u-joint connecting the front drive shaft to the front differential. Obviously one is not right - besides looking funny it is not as long as the other 3 bolts and does not stick out the back like the other 3 do. Where is the best place to buy one of the correct bolts and is there any issue with just replacing the incorrect one? Does anyone know the correct torque?

Just wanted to report that on the previous oil changed I used NAPA's 15w-40. Went 5000 miles and had the oil analyzed. The NAPA oil did better than the premium blue I had been using. They told me their oil was made by Valvoline, so I was a bit surprised that it tested better than premium blue.

This is for my son,He has an 06 cummins 6 sp tranny. While pulling into to the driveway this afternoon, like a blonde he let his foot off the clutch with his foot on the brake still. the tires kept spinning for about 3 seconds and then it died. Well when he went to start it back up it kinda "lurched" with his foot still in on the clutch and did not want to start. So with the truck turned off he put the stick to neutral put his foot back in on the clutch and then proceeded to start and lo and behold it did. Well now the clutch feels different it will push back up real hard when you have it pushed in and it will not shift in to any gear while running. But if you turn the t…

I hope this is the forum to through this. I have a friend in California with a 2005 Dodge and was thinking of using the 2 Stroke Oil in his diesel. But he threw this question at me ... "With all the State of California smogs for and the fines they LOVE to through out, what has been the problems with using 2 stroke oil in the diesel ?"I'm in a non-smog county and don't know what to say. Actually I now don't care what the State of California wants, but he is my friend. Anyone in a smog testing area that can answer this ?

It took a while, but it's done. I initially took it in to have the front seal replaced, find the "thumping" in the front end and to "time the CP3". I thought for sure it was the front seal, as there was oil all over the front cover and looked to be coming from the crankshaft seal. They replaced it, and while in there they did the CP3 timing thing. The thumping was worn out stabilizer bar bushings!! The axle U-joints were also toast.......greasables too!!!!Anyhow, I get the truck back..............sounds super quiet now..........that CP3 timing thing really does work!! Drive around to do some errands and guess what?????? I've still got the oil spots under the truck at each…

I've been fixing up a 2003 Dodge Dually that I bought awhile back, and I finally got around to some of the little nit picky things. Now I'm trying to figure out a problem with my interior lights. The dome light in the center of the cabin don't work at all. I checked the bulb and it doesn't look blown, but I'm going to replace it tomorrow to be certain. The 2 lights on the overhead console work by the switch or when any door desides the Drivers door opens, but they don't do anything when the Drivers door opens. I looked for a switch or sensor on the drivers door, but can't find anything, in fact I can't find anything on any of the doors (but the lights work on when any of …

I seen it. Truck came into the shop yesterday evening for a rear end rebuild. It was an 03 04 05 model dodge dually, dont know for sure, but by god it had a 6.7 in it. Guy i work with asked the guy about it and he said it's true, if you put a 03 or 04 set of injectors in the 6.7 and use the ecm off an 03 or 04 it will work. Never had the opportunity to screw around with a 6.7- too new.... so I dont have a clue if that is correct. anybody know for sure? obviously he did something to get it to work haha.

I already priced them out at napa who stocks spicer and the total comes to $1125.I am not looking to start a brand name war, its just that you guys k…

Hey everybody, it's been a while! And I'm back with a problem... 07.5 6.7, 370k. Two owners ago supposedly replaced the whole top end of the motor at about 320k chasing what turned out to be a bad EGR cooler. The truck had been stock until then. It got a new head, new turbo, new injectors, and an H&S with SmartyJr. I run either econ or tow with default values. I've had the truck for a year and about 15k miles. It has been flawless with the exception of what sounds like chipped teeth in 5th gear that I'm ignoring... The last few days I've noticed what feels like a miss under high load. I have an Insight CTS, and watching what it's telling me I see no oddities i…
