so ive had several offers for my 02. in and around the 13-15K range. i've been thinking about a long bed for a while now. i have a 5th wheel and a super glide slider but it doesnt slid fast enough to not let my new TT contact my truck. so a long bed is in mind. now there is the debate of 04-04.5 why the newer one? are they really worth it? around here they are 4-5K over a much much cleaner 04. i know they have 325 HP but really? 5 grand is a lot. for 20 HP. i've found a really frikin clean 04. built 12/03 for 14.5K and a well used and abused 04.5 for 19K. the 04.5 had 128K miles. 04 has 182K and is in WAY better condition. or should i keep my ol 02 qcsb. it needs…

I really didn't want to beat a dead horse here. I have been running Amsoil Oil filters eao80's on both my 05 and 01 and both trucks when you change the filter they are about 1 to 11/2 inches from the top. Almost everyone I talk to says there's runs over when they unscrew filter. Mine have never ran over and when I start the 01 you can here the difference until it pumps up. I just ordered two Donaldson elf7349 to see what happens with those. Can anyone share there experience.

So there was a truck in the shop this weekend and came in with a check engine light on with a P2262 code. Dodge dealer told the owner it was going to cost $2800 to fix due to he needed a new turbo. During inspection of the turbo and its functions( after draining the coolant) and removing the actuator from the side of the turbo we noticed that the lever actuator would only move about half way between open and closed. I removed the turbo and dissembled it into the 3 main pieces exhaust housing - cartridge - boost housing. When separating the cartridge from the exhaust housing I had to use 2 pry bars to separate the 2 pieces after looking at the VGT slide part I realized tha…

Ok replaced 3 of the 4 battery cables on the truck. The 4th cable is the positive cable on the drivers side. Goes directly to the starter and TIPM. How in the world do you get to the starter to remove the cable? The cable mounts on the top side of the starter almost directly under the fuel filter housing. You can't get to it from the front side of the front axle and you can't get to it from behind the axle. Heck you can't even see the lug, you have to feel it. Thanks G

What are your thought on air dog and if I can beat him down even farther on price I may jump on it if you guys think it is a qualiy pump, I have not followed any of the recent fuel pump threads ad do not follow any other forums anymore, not nough time in a day for me so am getting behind on the new products out there. Any input on it? http://www.bismanonline.com/air_dog_ii_165

EFI Live turn it back to a single injector event. Then figure out a proper timing map being that most CR engine are pretty retarded in timing stock wise. (At least what I remember of AH64ID's Smarty post).

  7. hey yall need some help here. Had to replace my injectors due to multiple bad injectors (shop did return flow test). Ordered injectors from diesel care and when I installed them the truck idled fine for about 5 minutes then i pulled out of drive and gave it a little bit of gas and heard a ting sound and truck started dumping white smoke with rough idle. Got back in garage, figured injector wasnt seated properly and pulled all injectors and tubes. One of them had a clean tip so i figured that was the injector that unseated. reinstalled everything, started it up and once again dumping white smoke with rough idle and a knock. Called diesel care and they suggested caping…

  8. Left last Friday early in the AM heading to SEMO to try and shoot some snow geese. There were others going, so we caravanned in two vehicles…………..one was mine. About 1/3 of the way down, it starts snowing. Fifteen minutes later, it's really snowing. Another fifteen minutes later, and the interstate is essentially one lane. The snow started North of Bloomington, IL and finally petered out about halfway between Springfield, IL and St. Louis, MO. Between Bloomington and Springfield was a nightmare. Must have seen 30 cars drive off the road!!! But that's not the "ordeal"!!! Just North of Springfield, my truck starts getting a real touchy throttle. I'm running…

Ok gang, my brother is hell bent on making some more power with his truck. Here is his truck. 2005 Ram 2500 4door long bed 2in leveling kit s&b intake with scoop smarty junior upgraded clutch G56 stock trans 3.73 gears He wants to eventually go with a set of twins with a new head 110# valve springs studded & fire ringed Smarty SSR & 100 horse ddp injectors, but for now he just wants an upgraded turbo that he can add another one to later. He is torn between industrial injection and ATS. Of these two companies which is better? Which turbo from each company would be best for his current mods and to add another turbo to later? Any input is appreciated!

Mornin' fellas, I posted this question on another forum and did not receive an adequate answer so I thought I would try here. I also know that everyone loves the Smarty and yes I have used the search function so with that being said, here goes. I have a SuperChips Flashpaq #3805 for the truck in my sig. The trans is getting a full rebuild on it as we speak and I am wondering what if any issues I would have running the truck with the programmer on the performance mode? I am looking for engine issues here as the rest of the drive train will handle it easily. I'm new to diesels and programmers and I would like to be able to plug and go since I have this, but if I'm goi…

Hey all. I am new to this forum. I am currently depoyed and tried to do some searches to find a how to on Valve Springs install but the connection here is crap and I couldn't find squat. I'm buying parts for a 2ng Gen Swap on my 08 Ram 3500 6.7l Cummins. I plan on an II BOP and 75hp nozzles along with the S467 and 2nd Gen mani and head studs. When I do the head studs and nozzles I want to install dual valve springs and push tubes. Has anyone seen a write up on the valve springs for a 3rd gen 6.7l cummins? Not sure if I have to cycle through the cylinders. Pretty new to a valve spring install. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Rob

Hi guy's, greeting from snowy Michigan! This has been my first winter with the Jr. Cummins up here and I've been very impressed! No problems at all starting in temps as low as 18 below (Not plugged in) she's impressed the other diesel owners at work aswell , they pretty much don't drive theirs in the winter, and when they do, they all plug them in . Anyway back on topic- when I rolled into the cottage tonight and flipped off the lights , I noticed that when I had my foot on the brake , my right front turn signal was glowing dimly, let off brake light goes out. So I did a walk around and checked all the lights and everything but a front side marker was working. Rig…

Come out try to start the truck engine turns over, engine spits and sputters but won't run. Turn the key off, turn it back to star, and it catches right away. Threw a code that stated improper voltage to power module. Checked bat cables found one lose, tightened it. All is well for about a month. Repeat no start same symptoms described above. Found another lose bat. cable clamp, so I again checked the others and tightened them. Last week it does it Wed. and again on Thurs. and Friday. So into the dealer…

I wanted more light under the hood when I am working there or when I was just checking oil or other fluid levels etc. I decided to try installing some LED lights to see if this would improve the situation. Since this was to be an experiment to see if it could improve things and if I would like it I didn't want to spend a lot of money to start with. I checked around for various light options and looked at how they could be mounted. I liked the idea of using a small multibulb bar setup because I could tuck it in an area that wouldn't come in contact with the body or engine when I closed the hood. My thinking was that if I installed 2 of these lights I could focus…

I've been fixing up a 2003 Dodge Dually that I bought awhile back, and I finally got around to some of the little nit picky things. Now I'm trying to figure out a problem with my interior lights. The dome light in the center of the cabin don't work at all. I checked the bulb and it doesn't look blown, but I'm going to replace it tomorrow to be certain. The 2 lights on the overhead console work by the switch or when any door desides the Drivers door opens, but they don't do anything when the Drivers door opens. I looked for a switch or sensor on the drivers door, but can't find anything, in fact I can't find anything on any of the doors (but the lights work on when any of …

I have an 03 dually with the 5.9 Cummins and 6 spd manual. There is some blowby, not bad but enough to notice it when the truck is idling and you look under the front. I found some seals and an open ended ring in the dash pocket when I bought he truck, I wonder if the turbocharger seals were changed and not put back right, and if that is causing my blowby. (See the bottom cause in the chart) Anybody have any thoughts on this ?

I hear that adding an Edge EZ with Smarty would hurt your injectors and hurt MPG on 5.9 03? Any experience input would be appreciated. Don't want to advise others incorrectly as I have been asked this question before.

Hey I am not complaining but it quit working about two weeks ago and I started thinking (knowing my luck) am I fixing to have some serious trouble? If you push in on the key it starts dinging.
