Well Thor yesterday started to buck once in a awhile and trip a few codes. P2509 - Power down Data Lost Error P0088 - Fuel Rail Pressure Signal Is Above Maximum Limit P0243 - Turbo Boost Wastegate Solenoid So this what I figured out. The P2509 code is triggering the P0088 when the power drop the pressure solenoid on the CP3 maxes out when the loss of power and then when the power returns it sensed but drops quick back to normal. Now I've gotta figure out the power issue for the P2509 code. As for the wastegate code I've gotta do a ohm test from the wastegate solenoid to the ECM. It a brand new wastegate solenoid I bought fr…

About three days ago he came by and I said to him your truck sounds like it has a miss. He said it started that a few days ago, not really a dead miss but just slight. I told him to change fuel filter, and he said it was past due. Well on the way home it got worse, so he pulls head and #4 has part of the piston cracked and missing (out the exhaust my guess) so he puts it back together and off to the dealership he go's. Well first stop they didn't like what they heard so he goes to the next, hook line and sinker they offer him 18k for it and he gripes about the electric 4x4 knob on the 2015 3/4 4x4 and how he wasn't going to pay that much for it and they cut him another 1k…

  4. I have a 2005 cummins it is giving trouble shifting so I did up grades on solenoids. also changed throttle shift solenoid that sticks out of top of trans still doesn't shift good. it cant make up its mind wether it wants 2nd or3rd gear. it throws a low voltage current to shift solenoid. any ideas.

This was a mod I had been wanting to do for a while. Its pretty simple, build this for less than $20 with toilet/plumbing parts. A lot of guys use 4", I went 3" because it fits better and its still almost 80% more air than stock, now we get into filter flow rates, and just what the turbo will need. The stock air intake is good for at least 450rwhp, so this should just help out with a little cooler air at high boost. To start remove the OE air box (which sucked for me as I have a solenoid for my winch attached to it, at that alone took an hour to unhook). The going in and out, top and bottom, find where you want to center the 3" hole, and then mark it and s…

Hi everyone, I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2006 dually. One the dually fenders is loose and has started to rub the paint off of the sheet metal. My question is, are they bolted on with regular bolts or are the fasteners formed into the fiberglass? I’m just trying to figure out the cure to replace the loose fasteners. Thanks for any help!

  8. This article will show you how to calibrate a HE351VE turbo using a cheap arduino board and a Canbus shield PLEASE NOTE**** This is not a magic pill for fixing issues with the turbo actuator. If the actuator is bad then it will still need to be replaced. We get a lof of questions similar to "hey I ran this and the turbo still doesn't work" This will not fix an actuator, only calibrate a good actuator to the physical limits of the turbo vanes. Parts arduino uno $15-$30 Arduino Uno Canbus Shield $25 Plugs ~$5 Wires ~ $5 Code turboreset.ino Canbus Library CANLibrarymaster.zip This code will sim…

I was testing my Fca the othed day by unhooking it, then truck throw a P0193 high pressure. I tried clear the code with my obd2 to see if it would come back. Its like the code never leaves, because it come back up without even trying to start truck. I also unhooked the batteries for atleast 30, and the same pops up with the same code without even trying to start the truck. Any thoughts

Here is a good write up that will be of interest to you guys. http://www.smartyresource.com/downloads/graphs/InjectorsDavid.pdf This shows the test results of an examination of David's aftermarket brand X injectors that were sent in so an issue he was having with them could be found. Lets let these pages do the talking! Scroll down for the complete 19 page report. (Firefox users may notice an absence of lines on some of the graphs.) Enjoy these pictures and graphs as well as the explanations which give details on these various injector issues. These show the Injectors as they were sent into the BBi facility for inspection and also results of repair. Indeed an interesting …

I know it's already been stated, but my buddy just went through 2 sets of 50hp aftermarket injectors on his 2007 5.9, from a shop in Tennesse. Finally, the 3rd time he got genuine bosch bodies from BD in Canada and the truck is running fine now, and thousands of dollars later. Bosch bodies only...

  16. Will add pics to steps shortly. This covers the 47 and 48 RE transmissions but there is evidence that it is used on other years / types of Chrysler products. Procedure should be similar for the other automatics used in the 2500 3500 line of trucks. OK, changed out the Neutral Safety Switch, AKA transmission range sensor last night. Easy job, but messy as all get out. You'll need a drain pan, 1/4 drive ratchet, 6" extension ( 4" would probably work ), small TORX bits ( forgot to check the size ), 1qt or more of ATF+4 ( depending on how fast you are ). Wouldn't be a bad idea to do this in conjunction with a fluid and filter change of the transmission. …

  19. Hey guys, so here's my problem. Bought an 03 dodge 2500 24v Cummins. Well I'm chasing it's demons now. Clear the codes and pull new, I get open circuit bank 2 injectors 4-6. I had a misfire on 6 so I replaced the injector (mechanical fail and the injector in it wasn't for the 03-4.5) also replaced the injector harness on #6 since it didn't ohm to spec) still hearing the thump/tick. Second code p2509 I believe, the intermittent power to ecm/pcm. I start checking grounds (I have tested the ecm harness to ecm and harness to b+ and b-, all checked out. So I'm chasing grounds but have had zero luck finding a schematic of grounding wires (have found a ground to cab that was bro…

  20. Started by Mopar1973Man,

Finally getting around to doing repairs on my own stuff rather than everyone's else vehicles. The previous owner of Thor just hacked up the tail light wiring and made a huge mess out of it. So I went out and order a weather-tight 7 terminal bus bar box. That way all the hitch connectors and the tail light wiring have a place to be without just be hanging under the bed as a knot of butt splices. The interesting part of the 3rd Gen bodies and electrical it is way over wired for the rear. Basically, there are two sets of wiring trailer/tow is one set with solid colors like green, yellow and brown. Then the body electrical is white stripped something. Dodge managed to do ever…
