When you are pulling a heavy load on a straight road, what are you normally running for exhaust temps. :shrug:When pulling my 5th, I am seeing 1000-1100 anytime the truck is working uphill and about 800-900 when on a steady grade. Is this normal??

Just some background:I don't drive my 24v much anymore. 200,534 miles on the clock. In the last seven years I've only put 5200 miles on it. I last drove it three weeks ago and all was fine. This morning I turned the switch to on position and all the bells and such worked just fine. When I bumped the starter it would not turn over, just kind of drug but not fast enough to start. I cleaned the battrey cables and battrey posts, connected the battrey charger and It read "FULL CHARGE" so I tried to start it again but she would not go.I desided to drive my 97 GMC Sonoma which has not been started for a year, It was dead. I connected the battrey charger and It read "FULL CHAR…

I ran my truck out of fuel yesterday on my way to work. I know how stupid this is but I thought I had enough to make it and I didn't have time to stop. I've tried since yesterday evening to get this thing started back but it just won't do it. I can get fuel to the VP and prime the FASS but as soon as I tighten the nut back up on the VP and try to start the truck, I lose prime with the FASS. Also, I am getting fuel at the injectors but still no fire because I lose prime to fast. I even tried leaving the but on the VP loose while I cranked and still no fire. I have been having problems that I thought might been VP related but want sure. Could it be that the VP is done for…

While researching which coolant to use after new radiator install, I found the following: http://www.turbodieselregister.com/tdrarticles/tdrarticle62_antifreeze.html About halfway down the page there is this table: There seem to be a few interesting tidbits in the article, and ALL sorts of talk about silicates etc... Thanks for looking, and I am very curious as to what Folks think of the info.... Ed

What is the cooling unit on the left side front of radiator? I don't have air conditioning. Bumper pushed into it and dented it slightly. 15 mpg and totaled the 99 Acura. Me, I need a new bumper, grill and 2 headlights. Meeting the adjustor on Monday and will be compensated for the accident and will fix myself. I already have a CCP bumper kit to weld up. Probably should pressure test the intercool too. No fluid leaking.

Hey guys, I’m really at a loss here I have no idea what’s going on with my 2000 extended cab 2500 auto trans. I was pulling my gooseneck probably 5k lbs, while accelerating my truck made a sound from under the floor, maybe trans or front end, sounded like a screech or squeak, and the whole truck kinda jumped. It kept doing it as I accelerated, now it’s doing that when I’m speeding up even without the trailer. Anyone have any idea what’s happening? Clutch?

Hey all, hope some of you who know these trucks better than I do can help me out here. So I've gotten to the point I believe the truck is running the way it should and I am ready to buy the Quadzilla for it, but I wanted to pick your brains here just to see if I missed anything or if there's other things I can check. My main goal is to have the truck running 100% correctly stock before adding the tuner so that way I can maximize the potential of the tuner. I didn't want to throw the tuner on when the truck isn't running to its full potential in stock form. The truck is mechanically running perfect, what I'm looking for is things to test and check electrical wise. I'll lis…

I was inspecting my intercooler hoses this afternoon and the lower ones have seen better days. So I figured I replace all the hoses regardless of them leaking or not. As far as hose kits go are some better than others or are they pretty much all the same?

I would highly suggest that no one uses 2 cycle oil in a vehicle that is already designed for ULSD. These engines have some very expensive equipment on board like diesel particulate filters etc. These device are not cheap to replace. Also remember this might or will VOID your warranty on your truck. These engine have been redesigned to be run on fuel that are very low in lubricants (Sulfur content).

99,6XX miles and the injection pump is failing, again. I ordered the new vp today. I need a fuel pressure gauge because the air dog light must not be completely functional. Am looking at a juice attitude cts, thoughts? Why not get the power as well as monitoring is my thoughts. Occasionally I run red, good or bad idea? Do I need a fuel additive? What would you guys do to my truck to help with A) fuel problems and B) mileage? Can't keep dropping $1000 every couple years on a vp. Air dog has stock 15lb spring, should I change to 17lb? Keep in mind I do have emissions here in Denver.

Trucks been throwing the 1689 code. I started to test the truck to see how often it throws the cel. 1689 every time. It will cut the power for a few seconds EVERY time it hits 2500ish rpms, it only happens at 2500rpm's. why would it be doing it at a specific rpm? I thought for a while it was only doing it under hard acceleration but its cutting out at 2500?????? Any ideas???
