20 years ago or how ever long ago, long time. I started running 2 stroke oil after reading Michael's research and never looked back. I keep hearing this Archoil lubricant and wanted to see if there was any talk about it. I cant seem to find the write up on it from years ago. So Im here picking brains on the subject. What do y'all know?

Patient: the truck in my signature. I had high boost readings on my Quad (up to 50 psi at idle) and those numbers dropped about 10 psi with the install of a new DAP map sensor. I then removed the Quad unit and sent just module to DAP to be checked out. While I had the Quad being checked, I installed my old Edge EZ. The module didn't have any issues so they sent it back to me and I have not reinstalled it. With the EZ, I get an almost constant "high boost " error code even after replacing the map sensor a second time. I was able to keep the light off long enough to get a smog check done but I now want to sell the truck and I need to figure out this error code issue. Can an…

  3. Here it is gang the Bosch VP44 Injection Pump fully disassembled. Here is the rotor and injection pump assembly. I stood the rotor assembly up and pull the pistons out of the rotor. Yes, these pins are the 3 pistons pumping together to create the high pressure. This of course, is the main shaft, vane pump and cam ring. Take notice to the 3 rollers and shoes below the main shaft. These 3 roller shoes ride in the slots of the main shaft and roll around inside the cam ring. Here is the timing piston. This is the piston that causes the infamous P0216 code. You can see the piston is galled up and this pump failed with the P0216 code. …

  4. Starter Description The starter motors used for the 5.9L diesel engine and the 8.0L gasoline engine available in this model are not interchangeable with each other, or with the starter motors used for the other available engines. The starter motor for the 5.9L diesel engine is mounted with three screws to the flywheel housing on the left side of the engine. Each of these starter motors incorporates several of the same features to create a reliable, efficient, compact, lightweight and powerful unit. The electric motors of all of these starters have four brushes contacting the motor commutator, and feature four electromagnetic field coils wound around four pole shoe…

  6. Mopar1973Man.Com High Idle / MPG Fooler Overhead Console Installation Ed Grafton sent me a Mopar1973Man High Idle switch for me to install into my overhead console, and do a write-up on it This is for guys that have no where else to put it due to too many gauges, or in the rare case like Jigabop who has too many options Ed Grafton extended the length of the wiring to allow for the wires to be run from the overhead console, under the headliner, down the A pillar, and into the engine bay. Whole install took about 2 hours. Tools And Supplies Needed - Drill - 2 1/8" whole saw - Smaller drill bit to drill the center ( 1/4" - 3/8" something small to e…

This is a tech article regarding those who (like me) think the oem spot for the apps is not ideal. Exposed to outside elements, heat, vibration and potential corrosion, moving it inside was most practical. Non Dodge/ midrange applications of Cummins 5.9 24V ISB’s all have their TPS/APPS inside the cab, mounted on the pedal assembly. So nothing is changing on the apps operation, just moving it. This mod does not works on trucks that are auto/use vacuum for cruise. The auto trans kickdown cable is attached to the bellcrank assembly. As with the vacuum solenoid setup too so if you can live without them then it will work. Parts …

Symptom/Condition: Extended idle operation, especially in cold weather, can lead to stuck valves and bent push-tubes due to insufficient cylinder heat. so i have a 2001 24valve 6 speed and i screwed up on welding some exhaust on the truck, i had the batteries unhooked but i forgot to move my ground when welding a exhaust hanger from the frame back to the exhaust and when i tried to weld the exhaust it searched for the ground through the engine block and so far i found that it took out my CTM and ABS module, when i hooked the battery back up the headlight stayed on and the wipers stayed on also with the abs pump running, i narrowed it down to i uplugged the ctm and the lights and wipers stop, the truck would start for few seconds then die so i unhook the pcm and truck will run and take pedal up to about 2000rpm, with the …

Does anyone have a part number or place to source the bushing for the master cylinder push rod to clutch pedal. Can't find one anywhere.

  13. Started by Lund1990,

I've been looking at some ranchhand front bumpers. I've discovered that they supposedly don't for the sport model. Does anyone know what the difference is and why it won't fit? Is it an easy modification to get it to fit?

  14. Started by Lund1990,

So my 2000 started throwing some odd codes. It's showing a P1698 and a P1689 . No Trans bus messages and egr actuator.... But here is why they're weird. My truck is a 5 speed from factory, and is pre-EGR. Any ideas what could cause this?

  15. I have a 1999 Dodge ram 3500 2wd with nv4500. I get a bad vibration at speeds above 55mph it all started when I put a set of old used tires on it. So I thought it was the tires, I had them balanced multiple times, tried balance beads these all changed the vibration one way or another. Changed bead amounts from 3oz all the way to 10 oz. I've done u joints, carrier bearing, tail shaft bearing all with little to no effect. The vibration feels like it's right under my seat and or towards the rear end. The shifter handle will shake badley when I'm on the highway at 55-70mph. Its intermittent it will some times go away for 30 seconds or some then slowly come back and start shaki…
