I have a 1999 2500 Cummins 24v that keeps getting the p0122 tps low voltage code on every tps the first time I changed it, it lasted a week then got another dead pedal so I replaced it again thinking I got a faulty tps and the new one last 2 days and I got the p0122 code again and the truck surges off and on. Ive did the reset procedure and it idles fine. Any ideas to what could be causing me to keep getting these problems thanks.

Hello guys, I've just returned from a road trip and check with my edge JWA trouble codes and found a p0122. I notice a change in APPS % . I set it and got 0% at idle but after around 1 month now I have like 3-4% at idle and when colder with intake heater cycle, its 5-7% idle and drop to 0% when grid heater is on, after goes up to 5-7% .. Now I'll try to disconnect the batteries and try to relearn the APPS! Can it be the APPS begin to get tired? I changed it 2-3or4 years ago (dont remember) with an APPS from rockauto! If I need to change the APPS wich one do you recommend me? best for cheap!! or simply the best that will last more. Thanks

I am have a problem where my APPS never reads 100% throttle. I am going to try and keep this short. The truck is basically stock except for a Quadzilla Adrenaline. The stock APPS sensor started acting up in Jan. It was causing the truck to die will driving and lurk forward while stopped. I replaced it. I thought everything was good. 2 weeks ago the truck started doing some hesitating. Maybe once every 4 days or so. Then started doing it more will throwing the CEL, P0121. The truck would die and then once the idle was low would act like nothing happened. I took the APPS back and got a new one. Then notice while it was hooked to a computer that the throttle at full…

I have a 1999 2500 with 165,000 miles. I bought the truck 6 months ago with fuel issues taking a chance. It would take partial throttle before cutting out. It had a cheap aftermarket pump on the rail (no name) that had recently been replaced. I immediately ordered a FASS titanium lift pump and b&d sump. I removed the factory fuel filter setup. The truck ran fine With zero issues until a month ago. I filled up, drove 60-70 miles and came home. The next day the truck started to have an intermittent dead pedal. Seems to be only at cruising speed, never during acceleration. Fuel pressure with key on not running is around 18psi so lift pump is fine. Fuel pressure…

What’s up guys? I recently had some issues with my truck which caused me to pull codes on it. When I did that I read the “diagnosis” on 2 different handheld OBDII scanner. Both of them were showing around 13% on the apps or tps. I have tried to mess with it to recalibrate it before but when I do mess with it, it throws a code and the CEL comes on. I have noticed that I have to pushed the peddle further than I should to get the truck to accelerate. It is an aftermarket APPS that is on the truck. Back when I bought the truck I assumed it would solve my ground/ lock/unlock issue. Then I realize that had nothing to do with it and never switched it back to the factory one beca…

My truck has the worst pedal ever and I've tried resetting a million times and put on a new sensor from OReillys. There are no numbers to set the voltage to and I don't mind spending a little but I don't want to trow parts at it. I had high expectations for this truck but it is the biggest turd I've ever drove right now. Has new lift and injection pumps also. Any help greatly appreciated.

Alright ladies and gentlemen just got done replacing my APPs or TPS sensor (whichever you go by) and I'm having WOT when touching the fuel pedal.... This is what I've done so far, when installing the new TPS I back probed the #3 pin (green wire) set the voltage to 0.55 at idle and 3.8 at WOT. After finishing under the hood I went inside the truck and calibrated the ECM by turning the key on (not starting) and slowly pressed the pedal to the floor and let the pedal back up slowly. Then hook up my scan tool up and made sure no codes were set, which there is none. Then I started the truck and as soon as I touch the pedal it goes to WOT. Double checked my calibrat…

I replaced my VP44 pump using the procedure laid out by Mopar1973man. Thanks for that. After just joining the forum, AND after reading about the TC/transmission problems due to faulty alternator and grounding issues, I was wondering if the APPS re-learn procedure should be part of the VP44 replacement procedures? I was having an issue with 47re not wanting to kickdown or maybe no throttle response, is a better way to describe it ,after the transmission shifted into 5th gear. It kinda wants to buck when giving it more throttle and has progressed to slowing down on inclines even with peddle to the floor. This morning I removed the Alt fuse and unplugged the field …

For the last two day after I get off work at 6pm. I am leaving work and before I get out the driveway of work my apps reads 101%, truck goes to idle, I loose the throttle till I tap it twice and then it will come back. I get the P0121 code. Has anyone else experienced this? Then only thing I know to do it run the apps test posted on this forum. The temp here here has been around 100 degrees.

The APPS sensor has 2 Idle validation switch pins, pins #2 & #6 anybody know which is Idle ON and Idle OFF(or Throttle ON)

  12. Hello all, just joined the page so please forgive me if I don't do this right. I have a 98 2500 24v auto, and ever since I've owned the truck I've been having this issue but just never attempted to do anything about it until now. I've just rebuilt my transmission to hold 550hp, am looking to add a tuner but I know I should fix this before I try to add more power. I have read the forum here about adjusting the apps and numerous other forums and cannot find anything to specifically relate to my issue. To start, my issue is that when I plug in my OBD scanner, my APPS sensor was reading 8.6% at idle and 71.3% at wide open throttle. So, after doing so…

Good Morning Everybody,About 4 days ago i was driving and got a check engine light, did the 3 key on procedure and found code P1693 then the check engine light was gone, went to mechanic hooked obdII scanner and found no codes. Driving back home when i got to a stop sign i exprerienced "dead pedal" and got check engine light again, and drove home at idle speed and sometimes after a few blocks it came back to normal. I hooked obd II scanner and got code "P0223" THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR/SWITCH B CIRCUIT HIGH. I went ahead and ordered TIMBO apps sensor, received yesterday and did the voltage adjustment, started the truck and drove it for about 15 miles and was wor…

  16. Ok Gang... I just had a wonderful phone conversation with Rburks this morning and his chasing his problems with his idle well he happen to mention the fact he did the APPS voltage adjustment and I like "OMG not again!" There is a article on the Internet that is wrote up wrong and need to be corrected and stopped. Problem #1 - Voltage on label Everyone is trying to hit this voltage dead on... DON'T! This is the voltage that the APPS sensor goes from ON idle start to OFF idle state. You voltage MUST be BELOW this number. Like on mine the voltage is .519. Don't set the voltage at this set it below this mark say .480 to .490 because as you add …

I recently installed a new Timbo APPS and everything went fine - that was about five days ago. Truck drove well (improved on OEM) and no CEL.Today I used the truck and got a check engine light come on for the first time ever .I will check the truck wiring in the morning - too p*ssed off right now to do anything remotely serious. When I checked the codes (using my Autel Maxiscan MS300 ODB11 Code Reader), I got P0216 - Fuel injection pump timing and P0222 - Apps voltage low. The truck runs fine and sounds good - nothing unusual happening so far.Has anyone have an idea of what the P0222 would cause - fuel pump timing error due to low signal voltage?Anything I need to be conce…

I still have my TC lock up issue so this morning I thought I would check my apps voltages. 0.314 at idle climbs perfectly but max voltage is 3.46 at 100% throttle I believe this is too low?? The quad is showing 100% throttle. Any input would be greatly appreciated guys

  19. I was on a long drive home across Canada for Christmas and at the end of my drive my truck started bucking a little bit, at first I thought it was just running a little rough so I limped it the last 50km's to my parents. Look into it a little and saw the APPS reset and tried that. The next day I hop in to drive it to town and it idles fine when I am warming it up for 10min, I start to drive it and I can tell something isn't right. Bucking at any engine load, Surging up to 2500rpm when I put the clutch in, sometimes to the point it seems like I was going to break a motor mount or run away. (Never any dead pedal though, I could put to the rug and she wouldn't h…

  20. Ok I just bought a 99 dodge 3500 24v Cummins with 222,000 miles I have searched but cant find nothing with same symptoms like mine exact. When you barely touch pedal it revs really high when in park. When you try to drive it it takes off really good then dead pedal then picks back up after it falls to around 12-1500 rpms and goes again it will not stay at a constant speed. Try and it cuts out till rpms fall them picks back up again. It appears the pump is not the original, and the guy I bought it from had it at a shop trying to get it fixed and they said they tried a different apps. But I dont think they know much about these trucks. Any ideas? Also I have a proble…
