So I got my HX35 swapped on tonight and what a difference!!! I thank all you guys that told me to swap off the old HY before buying injectors. I got my new glowshift pillar gauges on last night so I thought I would see how much boost I was getting with the HY35. The max I could get was around 17psi. Tonight I swapped on the HX35 and installed the pyro probe. The turbo already has a boost elbow in it. On my test drive I was seeing 25 psi and that was on a flat section of road full throttle. My pyro was climbing to around 950 when pinned to the floor. Does that sound about right? I'm running a Superchips D box will it fool the ECM and allow the 25 psi+ boost or wil…

I have a 2000, with a pacbrake that I added a while back. Trans was just redone, and the VB should allow lockup in second. I want to add a lockup switch for towing and better exhaust braking. Anyone know how to wire this up? The wire you wood normally tap for lockup switch is one that the pacbrake has you cut and splice into their control box. I really want to make this happen, but am unable to get any good wiring instructions.

I am about to purchase the Raptor 100. I was under the truck today just trying to see what i am getting into. It seems I have a pump mounted to the frame next to the gas tank, which i knew because I can here it come on (and its not the first time under the truck)....when i follow the fuel line up towards the filter it looks like there is another pump mounted on the block next to the filter. I followed the fuel line to this (pump?) and then out of it into the top of the fuel filter. I have only had this truck a couple months and I dont know the history. I am thinking that the original pump was block mounted? And that when someone replaced the pump they just left the old pu…

I have been running without a boost elbow for some time and I installed the adjustable elbow today and there is no increase in boost pressure, 27-28 lbs and I am still getting over boost code. Also, if I get into it hard, as soon as I let off there is a poping noise, like a backfire in the area of the turbo. The poping noise just started last week and has only done it about 5 times and is intermittant. When I installed the boost elbow, I turned the screw down all the way, then back it out about 1-2 turns, still get the code and same boost numbers. Then cranked the screw down all the way, same results.Any ideas?

Ok y'all.I'll try to get to the point, I'm on a 5,000 mile RV trip (to my wedding, in N. Idaho from Texas), now I'm on my honeymoon, on my way back to Texas broke down in Gillette Wyo. Here is what happened. I was driving I-90 E. Relativity flat rolling hills. I have been watching all my gauges like a hawk. My fuel gauge vibrates and always has when I drive but not at idle. So I am driving at about 60 - 65 mph, 15 psi fuel pressure (normal) I see my gauge go... 15- 5 - 15 - 5 -15 - 0 - 0 - 0... I pull over in the matter of less than a minute. Pull over, shut her down. BUMP the starter, NO Raptor noise for 20 - 30 seconds like normal. Did this several times. Not ev…

When you are pulling a heavy load on a straight road, what are you normally running for exhaust temps. :shrug:When pulling my 5th, I am seeing 1000-1100 anytime the truck is working uphill and about 800-900 when on a steady grade. Is this normal??

I am in the need to have a transmission built for my truck (in sig). I would LOVE a fully built unit, but at this point in life funds just arnt there for a fully built monster. I have been looking around and a friend told me about Cottman Transmissions. The company he works for has had them put together some trannys for there work trucks before and they have had good luck. I am wondering if anyone on here has used them, or knows anything about them. I asked IF I could supply the TQ converter and VB but they said they wont install customer parts. They use Trans star and Whit (?) products. Has anyone heard of them? I would like to atleast get a decent single disc conveter, …

Kinda of a long story.Changed my fuel filters yesterday. I noticed when I was trying to "prime" the canister that my fuel pump wasn't running.... At all. Finally got the truck started.Prior to changing the filters yesterday, it took about 7 seconds to start the truck. You just HAD to wait that long or it WOULD NOT start. The pump would run for a second, then it would start right up. NOW it'll start immeadiatly. Even after sitting all night in the cool air it starts in about 2 seconds.Last night I installed 1 new rear view mirror (from mickey mouse to towing). Installed fine, tried to see if the power part worked. It worked for about 4 seconds then quit. Along with my radi…

I need some help with my 2001 Cummins. I have recently had some dead pedal issues with my truck and took my truck in to a diesel specialist and had him test my injector pump. My injector pump is fine according to him but he found that my waste gate was stuck on my stock turbo. While trying to free the gate, he noticed my turbo was cracked so I purchased a new after market turbo.Last year I replaced the stock exhaust to a 4" exhaust, added a new lift pump (Raptor) and all of my guages. So, while pulling my 5th wheel last weekend, I noticed some funny shifting patterns and sort of dead pedal syndrome. My friend told me his father in law had issues with his Superchip, I a…

First off, let me say that this forum has been very helpful before, but I just can't seem to diagnose the issue this time. Hopefully someone has an idea on how to fix this.I installed my 4 gauge Autometer digital set(Boost, EGT, FP, and Trans temp) yesterday. Everything went in smoothly. Went to start truck up, wont start. Thought ok probably the fuel pressure, so cracked one of the lines, got fuel coming out, closed it. Tried it again. Wont start.:banghead: The FP gauge reads 0 while I crank, is that normal, or will it not register until I start the truck up? Any ideas??? Thanks ahead of time!!

Just wanted to make another plug for Pete's awesome kit. Another satisfied customer here with the instructions, video, and 'tools' to get the old seal out. My driveway hasn't looked this clean in months, and of course, she's a happy truck not dripping oil down onto the axle. I must have called Pete about 5 times when I did the repair and he was happy to help out every time.

I got into my truck this morning and the tranny seemed to feel like it was slipping when I started from a stop. This continued all the way to work, which has several stop lights (~12 miles). When I got to the last light, I shifted into low and it hooked up perfectly. It was rebuilt about 1k miles ago and sits a lot (haven't driven it in about a week).

I asked this on a few other boards, but figured I would ask here also. I bought my Cummins about a month ago, It drove perfect. The motor is stock, and I had thought the transmission had been rebuilt at some point due to how nice it shifted and how much cleaner the transmission was comapaired to everything else under the truck. Not long after I got the truck, I desided to check the fuel pressure. I bought a cheap-o oil guage from the parts house and used one of the test ports on top of the fuel filter housing. Well My lift pump is only putting out 10psi at idle, and Zero at WOT. So I figured i would take it over to my father house to park it. (more space) Its a 5 mile tri…

I have a weird problem. I have lost about 10psi of boost, usually around 35psi now im only seeing 25-27psi.... the weird thing is there is less smoke. I dont know what is going on. My lower left IC boot had a small hole in it (not all the way through) i filled it with silicone a while back, i have checked the Edge to MAP connection and its all good. Any ideas what could be going on? The boost seems to be higher in the morning and evenings when the air is cooler.... mid day on level 6 feels and looks like level 4....????Thanks in advance!

New to the forum, been lurking awhile, however, I just took a trip to S. Cal and my truck acts like it is losing its prime. Checked for any visible fuel leaks, found none. Truck usually cranks a couple of times and fires right up but now if it sits very long, it turns over but won't start right away. I have noted more black smoke than usual in the past few days and a little loss of power at times. I have about 100K on rebuilt VP, no codes and about the same on injectors. Could this indicate an injector problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Love this forum, very informative. Thanks.
