2nd Generation Dodge 24 Valve Powertrain

Well to start my story couple days ago I did a 2nd gear launch must of ran to many psi boost and floated a valve on intake number one.. After pulling valve cover lookin for a bent push rod or bent valve found out it just pulled the rocker bolt right out of the head.. We inspected it and found out there were quite a few more threads left just needed a longer bolt so that fixed my valve problem but I notice 2 days later a slight ticking noise sounds like it coming from same area.. Now im led to think maby I got a lifter going out but thought id ask here see what you guys think.. Should of put the 110lb valve springs in long time ago now I am kickin myself.. Any help would b…

Hello all, I believe I have a bad connector ring O-ring on injector #1. I can see it weeping. I loosened the fuel line and tried to see if seated correctly, that looked to be good. That is why I'm suspecting the bad o-ring. Seems like a easy fix. Do I really need that tool from Snap-on to pull tube out? Also if anybody has part number for them, from Cummins or the dealership. Hey boys and girls - nothing important but could use some opinions. My truck came with stacks which I have replaced with simple 4" kit.Now I want to sell the stacks but don't know what to ask for $$. It is not a typical stack kit with Y pipe. Previous owner made his own piping for in the bed and attached the stacks to it. The homemade piece has a pipe that goes down through the bed like a typical kit. Pics of stacks are attached.The buyer will have to purchase piping from the downpipe to the pipe coming out of the bed, but I'm including in the sale, the diamond plate protection set up including all rails and hardware to attach.I was going to ask $350 for it all (most …

Hey guys! I was just throwing this out there for anyone to make a comment on their preference.I have been looking at replacing both batteries and am thinking between interstate and optima. They are both 30 month free replacement batteries. Optima seems cool because of regular battery with abit of deep cycle so you can use it without engine and not have to worry about jump starting or trickle charging. Interstate I have heard is good also but where I work we have had issues with them from time to time. Let me know what you guys think!Thanks!

I am finally getting around to doing the relay fix for my 98.5 dodge. Don't have trouble in the winter but do in the summer. In the center under the hood in a loom of wires in front of the firewall, is the hot wire going to the lift pump in these. If so it isn't yellow/white. I'm trying to find an easy place to cut it to run the wires to the relay. I can't get my fat arms and fingers to work right at the lift pump. I am still running the stock type pump, the wires at the pump are way to short. Thanks

I have a raptor 150 it just stopped working. My question is can you use the the raptor fuel line on the stock fuel pump? All my stock lines are there and capped but I lost my blue thing that connects the stock fuel line to the tank and I don't really want to drop my fuel tank in the parking lot it snowing and cold. Hello All I have a Scangauge. I am wondering how accurate the boost reading is compared to a mechanical gauge. .....edit.... Ok, I just had another thought......So let me backtrack a bit.....I just bought a PowerPuck and an Quadzilla boost fooler (it plugs inline with the MAP sensor). I also just made a adjustable boost elbow and I do NOT have a mechanical boost gauge. At this point I have been watching my boost pressure via my ScanGauge. As my truck is unmodified the need to watch it at this point is for curiosity and MPG reasons only. I am planning on installing the newer goods today/this weekend, but I am now wondering if the Quadzilla boost fooler will alter my Sc…

I was just wondering what kind of oil is recomended for my trans. I know what the owners manual says but what does that translate to at the parts store.

Any opinions on the WIX Oil Filter? I saw the WIX 51607 listed on Rock Auto for $6.71 each in a case of 12. The Fleetguards are getting crazy $ even if I buy them by the half-dozen, but still worth it I figure. They also have FRAM's but I don't think I'll put any orange filters on MY truck.I know I've seen a chart showing which filters other than the Fleetguard to use but can't find it now...

So, I decided I would give my injectors a little looky-loo. A few days ago, I did this. After fumbling around trying to figure out what wrench size the injector lines were, I got a wrench on them while the truck was running and all of them responded to them being cracked open. I was not able to get to cyl. #2 and #6. Is there a way to get to these injectors?Also, it seemed like it took a good amount of force to crack them open. I have never heard of a torquing device that would use an open-ended application like a wrench. Please help. I was driving home from a nearby town, and my CEL came on, all of my dash gauges quit working and the odometer says "NO BUS". When i got home, I scanned for codes and came up with these: -P1698 - No CCD, message fom TCM -P0383 - Generic Grid heater relay -P1687 - No mechanical instrument cluster BUS message -P1694 - No CCd message from PCM - Aisin transmission -P0122 - Low imput throttle position sensor circuit low imput - I replaced the apps 2 months ago with a Timbo unit. Hello all;I have a simple question, that may not be a simple job, but....I am in need of a new cab, instead of spending all the time cutting and welding new floors, rockers and cab corners. I have a really good deal in front of me, it is a cab from a 1995 ram gasoline, now I have a 2001 ram diesel, are the cabs interchangable for those years??? If so are there any suggestions to make my job go smoother, is there any drilling or cutting??? or if anyone has done it before what was the order they went in for taking things apart? Posting this issue for KyCTD since we talked about it in the chat last night and told him I would type it out for him. Bought a 2001 auto CTD that ran fine. One day he started getting on it pretty good and then it just turned into a really doggy truck, slower than any stock truck. Described it as "Geo metro being pushed by a yugo with a 30mph tailwind lol". Found it also had a cracked block. Scrapped the engine and found a 2000 donor truck which was also an auto. Put the engine in using the 2001 ECM and it ran but something wasn't right. Found out the cams were different, switched the cams and that made it run perfect. He used the 2000 VP as well, not the one off …

Has anyone with an automatic trans had their transmission Heat exchanger (located on the passenger side of the block) fail?If so is this a prone part to fail?The reason im asking is that at 10 years, and 8 year old engine coolant(before i changed it), im wondering if it will stand the test of time, or if i should go about replacing it, and avoiding trashing my fully built transmission.

Before I changed out the motor and tranny there were lots of spots in my driveway so it didn't bother me. But now there are no drips but I still get that burned oily smell once in a while. Being a rooky, is there something I don't know about? I can't see any obvious cause of this odor.
