I got my tranny rebuilt about a month ago and the tc lockup has been acting up. It sometimes locks and sometimes it feels like it is partly locked:cry: I took it back to the tranny shop for a checkup and he's pretty puzzled by what it is doing. I did play around with a mystery switch and I'm wondering if there's any way that I could have messed something up. In the process of this I had the center plug on the powertrain module off to tap into the black/orange wire and I broke off the pin on the wire from the trans temp sensor. I kind of got it back together but could a bad connection on that circuit have caused a problem like I have? I'm sure hoping not cuz I want t…

It appears my lift pump is dead. I pulled the relay and jumpered the correct connectors, heard contacts click in, but no pump running. I'm on a budget (= low funding) and would like a decent quality unit that can bolt in, no huge modifications to my fuel system. Also, a recommended fuel pressure gauge installation set up would be appreciated.

I was in Napa this morning and they have Premium Blue on sale for $9.99. I don't need any (bought my supply when Oreileys had it on sale). Don't know when it goes off sale. But at that price, I figured I would pass on the info to everyone!

First off let’s start off with saying I’m glad I found your site!!! Great Job and keep up the great work!!! I have been in the Cummins thing for many years, I use to be the admin on the old SETDR site if some of you remember. That site is what kicked off the Diesel Garage and Comp Diesel sites. When SETDR died I kinda laid back and focused on other things in life. I have an 01 Dodge Cummins ( Big Red )with DD4’s, 5” exhaust, hx35 w/boost elbow, Edge Drag Comp, all the gauges, Holley blue pusher pump ( which I started the installation craze) and a full blown Sun Coast Comp Tranny w/triple lock Tq Convertor, So she’s pretty stout and build to my likeing. Last dyn…

I would like to upgrade the performance of my truck and as far as what i have been told i will only be able to try for around 100 hp without a new trans or upgrading the stock trans. I am going to start by removing the resonator and muffler. Then upgrading the p-pump and restricting the turbo wastegate as well as changing the air box and filter. the final part to my puzzle will be a box ie. comp edge. please let me know if i am leaving anything out or if there is another order in which to proceed.

Been trying to get this thing fixed, Went through the grounds and the 1488 and 522 codes keep coming back. Trying to trouble shoot from the book but seems it's just getting more confusing:mad: The book:1488= Auxiliary 5 volt sensor feed is sensed to be below an Acceptable limit. 5-volt Supply Voltage low. Sensor Supply voltage for E C M sensor is too low. book: 522= Oil pressure sending unit voltage input below the min acceptable voltage. Question? is there a sensor that supplies 5 volt's to the E C M?I thought the E C M did the 5 volt thing.:rolleyes:Thanks Ed.

Hi Guys,Thinking of purchasing one of these. I like the adjustability of it & the fact that I'm using bioblends or adding filtered WVO in warm weather only. Above 10% my low pressure light comes on till I add more diesel to thin it out! Been seeing it around for about $365. And since Michael thinks the Fass Dodge Direct Replacement is junk.Any thoughts? Thanks,Dave

Lately I've started to notice what sounds like a slight tapping after my engine gets up to normal temperature. It's a very light tap & hard to hear but you can definitely hear it when you listen closely....Sometimes it even sounds like a clock ticking fast when driving normally.....Only thing I know that I have changed the last month or so is that I've been running Stanadyne Performance formula in my diesel....Is this an exhaust valve or something that I'm hearing?

Well, last week I changes injectors to a stock size set I bought in hopes of gaining some mileage. They did not yield any better mileage so I put the old ones back in. When I removed them the first time the truck ran great, idled right at 800 and had balls. I pulled the injectors apart and noticed the pintle in #1 was really stuck in the nozzle. I wasnt sure if the pintles from stock injectors were the same size as bigger injectors so I measured them with a micrometor and they seemed the same so I swapped one out with the sticky one. The truck fired up pretty quickly but is idleing at 1100 rpm. What did I do wrong? --- Update to the previous post... Resset the a…

As promised. I forgot to take pictures yesterday when I did this, plus I did it a slightly different way than the way I am going to explain. My gauge I have had for years, I drilled the check valve out WAY bigger than when it came from snap on. This way, I can do a check without the rockers on...... Anyway. You will need to get your hands on. 1. A compression test gauge suitable for a diesel engine's high compression. I have a snap-on MT 33 B, as well as a C model. Both are good for 800 PSI. And use standard 1/4" snap in quick connect air tool fitting. 2. A compression test adapter. Looks like an injector and fits where the injector goes. For the ISB (98-2007 i…

I hate to ask this but I am searched out and don't know what the issue could be. The last couple of times out my truck has developed a weird pulsating, choking, issue while driving. It mostly happens when I am going highway speeds 60-65 and gently get in to the throttle a little more to get up a hill or pass someone. This happens when towing and not towing. If i back out of it it will stop, If I roll into the accelerator more it goes away. It has become a consistent problem. It is the truck in my sig line. So far I 've gone and checked codes.(key trick) Got the 1693 Companion code, had the codes read at autozone and nothing popped up. fuel pressure is consistent at 16 ps…
