The fold out mirrow on the passenger side keeps moving around while I'm driving. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the mirrow?

So a couple months ago I get in the truck and no start. Only relay clicking. So, using forums to trouble shoot my problems, I ordered Larry b’s over oversized contacts. A few weeks of working lots of overtime and rainy weekends went by and finally got decent weather to take on the job. Installed the parts and what do u know, still no start. I’ve swapped fuses and relays so that’s no the problem. Is it possible that the neutral safety switch has gone bad? All of the threads I’ve read, people say they have reverse light problems with the switch. Is this a hit or miss with the reverse lights giving it away or could I have a problem elsewhere? I’m tired of having to raise my …

  3. I converted my 3500 to SRW about 4 years ago. I've included a note about the conversion in my signature on several forums. I get 1 or 2 PM's a week from people asking questions about doing an SRW swap. Back when the price of diesel was over $5.00 a gallon, I was getting 3 to 5 a week. So I thought I would post a write-up I did a few years ago. I don't mind answering PM's but it's easier just to reply with a link. The conversion is actually very simple. As far as the front end goes, just remove the wheel spacers and install a set of rims from a 2500. You'll also need lug nuts. I bought a set of 32 lug nuts from Ebay that were used but in perfect shape for $20.…

  5. Disabling Factory Alarm Horn Are you tired of the factory alarm horn going off with 3 honks (tamper alert) when unlocking the door or at other inconvenient times? The horn sounds when the central timer module grounds pin 85 of the horn relay. Here is a simple inexpensive remedy to stop the module from sounding the horn. You cut the wire to the module; the horn will still work at the steering wheel horn button but not with the door locks or key fob. You will need a phillips screwdriver, small wire cutters, and a roll of electrical tape. Remove the three phillips screws at the bottom of the pan…

Anyone around Louisville KY need front and rear rotors or caliper brackets for a 01 2500 4wd? All are good, stopped smooth no pulsation. Did 3rd gen swap and hate to trash these. Also have like new rear pads from napa had maybe 7000 miles on them.

I’ve looked in the FSM and a few wiring diagrams in the places I’d thought it would be but I can’t find anything about this connector. its been there for years like this since I bought the truck, the interior lights work, so does the horn and gauges. its in the loom of wires that runs on the steering column if that helps, unless you just know what it is you evil genius you.

Would a gas cluster work in our trucks? Aside from the tach. Now with that, would the tach read actual rpm? Or is it programmed in the PCM? Being the tach is Can controlled. --- Update to the previous post... Well after some more research and this pic: http://articles.mopar1973man.com/images/general/ccd/CCD-Network-Wiring.jpg It seems that the cluster would have its own decoder ring so a tach should show actual engine rpm.....i hope.

The project I'm working on that might be of interest to this forum is the 1948 Dodge COE with 1996 Cummins 5.9 I've got the structural and body fit problems resolved; current focus is on the harness; I've got a 1998 (12V) complete wiring harness, it appears that the engine harness is a pretty easy adaptation; now considering the harness came out of a traditional Ram 2500 I've had to make provision for re-routing some branches of the harness to provide for the much different layout required for the COE. My intent was to "strip" un-needed wires from the body/interior systems; specifically ABS, Airbag System, Seatbelt electrical components and Instrument components. I int…

This is probably the most used piece of equipment on my truck. I use the exhaust brake to do about 80% of all my braking on the highway, city streets, and off-road. My brake shoe are still factory shoes and I've got over 102K+ on the clock. The shoes have got 50% left. It's a vast savings to the brakes. Sorry to say it doesn't exactly has the diesel rumble when you use this style of exhaust brake. But you do get a hissing noise from the exhaust pipe. There is a bonus to the exhaust brake. You can active it on a cold winter morning and get the pyrometer well above 350°F within a few seconds after starting it in the morning. I purchased the Jacobs Brake from…

My "new" "used" 2006 Lone Star 4x4 quad cab 5.9 cummins has an emblem on the tailgate that say "RamLock". In searching the internet for RamLock I see references to automatic locking tailgate and also to locking differential. So what exactly is "RamLock"? Scott - - - Updated - - - Sorry - this was supposed to go into the 3rd gen forum.

  13. ABS Failure - Diagnostics Tips 4 Wheel Anti-Lock Brake System 2 Wheel Anti-Lock Brake System (RWAL - Rear Wheel Anti-Lock) I find its really common to hear people complain about ABS and BRAKE lights being lit. There is a few simple things you can do to diagnose your problem. [*] Check your ABS fuses under the hood fuse #11 and check the #3 fuse inside the cab (driver side door jamb). Replace any that are blown. [*]Step on you brake pedal and see if the tail lights light up and turn off when released. If not repair the brake light switch. [*]Shift the transfer case into 4WD and check if the 4WD light comes on. (4WD equipped vehicles). If not repa…

  14. This procedure is for rear disc brake trucks. First block the front tires so the truck can't roll. Then jack up the rear axle of the truck till the tires are off the ground. Use jack stand under the rear axle. Don't set the brake! SAFETY FIRST! Now crawl under truck. The pic shown here is the driver side axle hub. There will be a notch in the bracket and in the notch is a rubber plug. You'll need a pair of needle nose pliers to reach in and pull the plug out. Now take a flashlight and look in the notch and you'll see a star wheel. You need to use a flat blade screwdriver to turn the star wheel. Check the wheel for drag by turning. If the shoes start to dr…

I have a 95 12 valve that when I start it occasionally just my back hazards start to flash. The front ones stay off. When I press the brake the back ones stop flashing. The only way I can get the to start is by playing with (turning on and back off) my hazard switch. I was told maybe the hazards switch? Or maybe the brake switch connected to the hazards. Any ideas??

Looking up some parts today. Somehow across this fill in your VIN number and up comes your belt and hoses. Going to print out and keep in glove box, just in case. I'm not in love with Gates but thought it was handy. http://www.gates.com/catalogs-and-resources/resources/repository/engineering-business-applications/vin-decoder/vin-decoder

I finally got around to installing my Geno’s dash top and junkyard dash core. This also marks the near completion of my interior color swap. The only thing I have left to do is paint the overhead console. I also installed a new pioneer head unit I had ordered several years ago as well. It’s so nice having everything on the dash attached to something else. I used a dash core from a slightly older truck which only has the one driver side power port. I didn’t realize my airbag switch wouldn’t fit so I hid it behind the dash and got the other power port from the junkyard that properly filled the hole.

Fellas, I bought a front leather heated seat and I'm taking it apart to get the drivers side recovered. I have been able to get the tabs on the seat cover off the front and start pealing the cover off the foam, but it seems like it's either glued fast to the foam where you sit , or possible wire clips? I see small wires that appear to dig themselves into the foam but don't want to go ripping at it until i get some insight . Also, has anyone repalces their factory heating element with the replacement from Geno's Garage? Wondering if they plug right in to the factory plug:think:
