Say you get stranded out in the middle of almost nowhere and your Cam sensor goes out. Isn't there a way you can just hot wire it till you get back into town?:think:What about the crank sensor too ?

Well. Finally was going to have my truck in working order until this. Went to my girlfriends. Came out to go home. To find my drivers side mirror laying in the ground and the passenger one flipped so far out it was flat and my truck smelling of beer. So I will be in search of a set of tow mirrors.

Here's some background: aprox 3 months ago before the hot season in Phoenix, AZ i wanted to get my ac working again so I replaced the liquid line and suction lines along with the orifice tube due to the leaky ball type valves in the lines. And i had noticed at the time my fan clutch was free ballin... so while I was at it i replaced the fan clutch with a 89 dollar Hayden fan clutch from Rock auto. Three months later into the hottest part of the year, that fan clutch engages at cold engine start up drive a couple miles and disengages. At the same time I have my ac running and it get's cold about 45-48 deg while moving. Come to a stop light and the darn a…

looking at the pictures I thought that you had rear disc brake pics and earlier drum brakes mixed in the article. Now I realize that there is a set of drum shoes inside there for parking brake. Wow, :banghead:Do these shoes wear out very often? Should I plan on replacing with my rear pads/rotors?

I have a mostly stock cummins. Only plan on upgrades that increase reliability and efficiency. Had my air filter off today and have been monitoring an oily buildup on the intake side of the turbo. I can now feel lateral movement on the turbo shaft. Figure I am needing a solution. Any reason to upgrade my turbo? Is a rebuild kit and self rebuild a feasible job for us backyard mechanics? Send it off for rebuild? Buy a rebuilt unit? I don't spend money on bling, so just looking for a cost effective yet long term solution.

Hi Guys,My speedometer stopped working the other day under about 35 mph. I assume this is my RAWL. When looking online there are two different ones available. One comes with the sensor and short wiring connection, the other is sensor only. Is there any reason i need to pay more and get the one that comes with the short wiring connection?

so on my 12 hour drive to the beach, about halfway through the trip after stopping at a rest stop, the boost gauge stopped working. then the last 6 hours i get to watch the gauge sweep from 0 to straight down past 60 psi.. :banghead: extremely distracting and fun to watch due to prolonged boredom during the drive..i bought the truck with the gauges on them, and i honestly have no clue where the boost gauge even leads to. what should i check first? thanks guys, sorry for the newbie questions

This may be the exception to "there's no such thing as a stupid question" rule, but here it goes. How do you disable the low power daytime headlight feature that come on when you release the ebrake. I have done no investigation to this point, but see that most everyone knows the secret but me.

Windshield mirror fell off. Was out at work and returned to the truck only to find the mirror on the truck hanging by the wire.Boy, and it was only 119 degrees here that day, so prolly at least 140-150 in the cab. You would have thought that the glue was good for at least 200 degrees! :)Ok, so I get to re-glue the metal holder to the windshield.Any tips, trick's or suggestions? Am assuming that its going to take the special "windshield mirror glue" and not just plain old super glue? Thx,FT

I tore into the rear driver side of my truck, needed to replace the wheel seal...once I got everything off I was looking around at my drum brake assembly thinking I needed to take everything off, I screwed the adjuster all the way in and found out that I dont have to take it all off...once I got everything back together I drove around for 10 min at 50 mph and then checked to make sure everything was ok, my driver side drum (side I tore into) was alot hotter than the passenger side...If I jack my wheel off the ground I can get about the same amount of spin as the other side but only my drivers side is getting warm...I know the adjuster is probably not back in the same spot…

My oem has the slop going on. I've read mixed reviews about the borgeson box, the napa box, and don't know much about the redhead box. Point me in the right direction, if I'm going to give up a day of fishing for the swap I do not want to do it again 6 months later.Luke

So its been busy this weekend...ball joints Friday and Saturday. First time I've ever done them, wasn't horrible once I figured it out, but having to take the hubs apart to get to them was a PITA!!!! I want to know if a 2001 outer knuckle will fit on a 96 axle....Then, the Redhead steering box showed up on Saturday. I really didn't want to jump right back into it after dealing with ball joints for about 15 hours total, Friday and Saturday, but since losing my brakes and steering due to vacuum has become a daily occurrence, I dove into it today. Replaced the steering gearbox, rebuilt the vacuum pump (twice, since I put a seal in wrong the first time, replaced the lowe…

So I replaced my wheel bearing/hub assembly yesterday, I didn't put the heat shield/dust shield plate back on due to destroying it getting the hub off. My ABS wire was then able to rub on my rotor, not to my knowledge of course, and proceeded to cut the cable almost in half. Is there any way to fix the cable? I really don't want to buy another 270 dollar hub for a dagum cable.

It took some modification to the stock grille bracket to make it work, but the install was pretty painless. However, it took "tweaking" the top of my bumper and raising the hood latch to its maximum travel to make it fit. I have a set of sport lights awaiting some relays & diodes, and sooner or later I am going to get a new plate bumper made. It was a perfect night for photos, and I figured you guys would enjoy looking at my baby! (I am not sharing photos of the trucks flaws, but they are slowly being eradicated.) Next on my list is a new cupholder, new overhead light switches, and a functioning A/C Pump!

So, I didn't want to spend any more money than I needed too, but I did need to run a boost gauge between the primary and secondary, to see what my primary is lighting at. I already had a boost gauge, pyro, and fuel pressure. I still had my autometer mechanical 0-60 boost gauge, so I didn't have to spend any more money on that, and I still had the old A pillar 2 gauge mount. After some quick cutting and fitting, here's what it turned out to be-notice anything different? My own Dodge 4 gauge pillar pod!
