OK, I know I have a tranny problem, when I first back out of the garage in reverse, then I shift to drive and get a crunch, then the engine stalls due to a total lock up. Is this the torque converter or something in the tranny? I have no unusual noises so far. It has only done this on 2 occasions in about 2 weeks. I have the 5RF or what ever 5 speed auto, same tranny that is used with a Hemi.

Need input:banghead: Working on a 2002 Dodge Ram SLT 1500 4X4, Has Vibration under throttle only. Things already checked are as follows: Ignition system, U-Joints, Rotors/Pads were extremely worn replaced (no-help with vibration) Fuel/Air filter checked good, scanned found no codes, Truck runs and drives/shifts well pulls well, just mysterious vibration felt upon accelerating. Also checked hubs, tie-rods cv's in front rear axle bearring, have noticed can feel vibration more through transfer case lever as well, wondering if anyone has experienced this, thinking only, not tested ( torque converter/tranny/transfercase) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.truck info …

I had the Cirus back in the tire store... leaky rims. The car spent quite a bit of time in the back... no charge but they said the wheels are corroding & if this continues, will need to be REPLACED. Wheels would total the value of the car... but I've already spent more this year than car is worth. (Complete distubitor.) Car only has 95k. I'm just can't believe the wheels can't be cleaned but clearly not at their expense (which I didn't expect... but they want to sell new tires). I've been pretty anal about this in recent years... I know you're all thinking this is no big deal... When clearing the windshield, I always clean the roof off too. The last year I had my Chevy on the road... I went out & cleaned about 6" off the windshield before I got called away, leaving the snow on the roof & the truck sitting in the sun. When I returned, the snow had slid forward on the glass... and the glass had a horrizontal crack right at eye level. Of course, it failed inspection. A friend of mine has a 360 1/2 ton 2wd.She says it is out of od and back in.It has almost 300k factory tranny.I didnt get it yet to check it out or get codes.Any ideas? If the tranny is all played out i can pull it.I am thinking the od solenoid in the tranny is shot.What do you guys think? I know it is a shot in the dark because i dont have it yet.....but what's your guess.

Hey guys my dad has a 94 dodge 2wd with a bad transmission and he has a 91 dodge van with a good 2wd transmission and we are wondering if the 91 tasmission will work in the 94? I know the plugs for the electronic are a little different but not sure how to wire it if it would work? Does anybody know if this will work? Any input on this would be great thanks.Jason

Ok Gang... I've got a 1989 Jeep Wagoner With a alternator problem or charging issue. Anyone got information on aiding on diagnostics it would be helpful... Static battery voltage is 12.5V and running is 12.2V... Kind of dark and hard to see the alternator on the bottom of the engine.
