  1. MTD lawn tractor… fatigued plastic grill FAILED. Sorry, should have taken before pictures with hood laying on the engine. What was she thinking? Result of brittle plastic, vibration... Broken mount piece… other side a bunch of shattered chips. Where Left mount used to be... Where Right mount used to be There was nothing to support the grill... Repaired grill with STEEL plate bolted underneath. Hopefully spread load enough that it'll stay together. [url=http://s122.photobucket.com/user/fleeting_cat/media/IMG_2638.jpg.html] (Use enough bolts?) Bolted it back on the tractor yesterday... Had to go to Lowe's as Home Depot didn't have 3" w…

  2. My wife and I took a trip to England earlier this year. Video from Bath, UK: From the Cotswolds (this one is a little longer, and features pretty much only my wife...it was pretty much landscape or my wife, and she was a good sport): Enjoy!

Yeah it happen to me again. Stupid people in a hurry and driving to fast. I can see a semi-truck coming towards me then a Chevy pickup come bouncing out from behind the semi-truck I was forced to emergency stop into the shoulder / ditch of the highway to avoid a head on collision. Don't get me wrong there is time I will drive fast but passing people please look well ahead of the vehicle ahead of you before pulling out. Then again tonight I with a Deputy from the sheriffs office setting up the CDL class for the fire dept and we got passed by a motorcycle illegally over a double yellow line. People slow down there is nothing in this world worth getting yourself in accid…

  4. We got this Saber from her brother. It has a 54" deck. We'd spent a ton of $$ to get it operational again. (Since we had a second mower, I felt safe in working on the MTD. I was still working on getting the grill back on the MTD... {pictures to follow} And have the 2 dry rotted front tires off the MTD to be fixed) So the Saber stopped mowing. The belt TO the deck failed... broken & shredded. I'm not finding much info on the belt. Apparently some of these mowers were also sold under the Scott's brand. There a green logo of soome kind on the belt. I'm not getting a number. Really don't want to take it to a dealer. I haven't gotten a good look yet…

Pager goes off at 3am in the morning for a barn fire near Whitebird, ID. I just barely got home at 1pm in the afternoon. The landowner lost his barn and about 300 ton of hay. Fire Chief figures its wet hay that started the fire. I got to admit hay fire are nasty and hard to put out. Fire Chief lost count on water after about 60,000 gallons and it was becoming day light at that point so 200,000 to 300,000 would be a valid guess of how much water we pumped on this fire.

While I was at my CDL class tonight I'd heard from the Fire Chief that several homes up on the mountain had lost there wells and dried up. As for Riggins, ID they are now limiting water in the city of Riggins, ID. Then on top of that we are heading back into 100-105*F temps again so water is going to get tighter yet. Pray that the weather cools off and we get more rai we can use it out here. According to the Deputy I was with Nezperce Forest is in a Stage II fire restrictions now.

:banghead: So, been trying to hold off on getting propane hoping the price hike would blow over. NOPE! Around here, were slated for single digit temps this upcoming week! Real problem is whats going on over on the east side! People are sucking up that propane like theres no tomorrow! Called around locally here, crazy prices! Found decent price at the local Big R at $2.99. JOY! Okay, so that was a few days ago. Was not able to get in until this evening because of my new schedule from work. So I get there right before they were going to close. Look at the current price sign by the tank: $5.99/gal! Give me a BREAK! Guy comes up to do the propane, I ask him, …

  10. I want to thank everyone here for the support & advise while wife was broke down away from home. I needed to know what choices were to be made depending on the shop testing... so I could get parts shipped in quickly if needed. I got lucky & they were not needed but knowing what to do was a great comfort. I must thank DAP (Diesel Auto Power) for taking the time to assure me the VP44 Injection Pump they had IN STOCK was what I wanted with all upgraded parts & new computer. The price offered was actually quite low... Their site said $1439, over the phone, following up on my email... $1039 with a $400 core charge... and a 2 year warentee... They quo…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1gsCMs6eF0 http://www.khq.com/story/29478269/cape-horn-fire-burning-near-bayview Well, guess I had to have my fun. The eery thing about this is, I was on that very mountain last night to watch the fireworks in the bay. I'm currently about 12 miles away as the crow flies. Don't think I'll have much to worry about. The area is being evacuated so I'm seeing an influx as people take shelter near me. Washington is going up in smoke with all their fires, guess we had to contribute with some smoke, too...

Just wanted to talk about my decision to make a life Style change this year. I am a bigger man @ 6'3" & large framed and come from a family of big men. I have always been very active but with my promotion 3 years ago into management from a heavy diesel tech for 18+ years I had put on about 20+ pounds. I have been in a size 38 Wrangler pants for 20 years just out of college and I had made myself and my wife a promise about the time I started wearing 38 pants that I would never ever buy a size 40. Fast forward 20 years and after the holiday season I was tipping the scales at 281+- and my 38 pants were bulging at the seams and It was hard to get them buttoned. B…

So the mother in law has an 1998 Oldsmobile delta 88. It was given to her by her parents when they were living with them and couldn't drive anymore as they were getting too old to drive. When I met my wife 6 years ago the car had sat on the driveway for some time until it aroused my curiosity as to why it wouldn't run. Then I started digging. Finally got it running after paying someone to fix an electrical issue. I did not do any maintenance to it, but suggested things. Whenever there was a repair to be made I tried to do it unless I was not equipped. Fast forward till now. The car was being used as a commuter car and pooling since we live 45 min from work and…

I found that a bee colony has been established under my roof/behind the fascia board. It may have been started about 2-4 week ago. I don't want to kill the colony but the bee relocation people want $200 and up to do it. I know that hexOrz and LiveOak are bee keepers. So does any one have away to move them out with out killing them.

I'm going to post this out on Facebook knowing there is a lot of local folks reading this too. Please folks don't be lighting fireworks this 4th July. I know its a US tradition to do. With the extremely high temperatures we are having, tall grasses, and explosive fire potential it just not a good idea. So please pass this along to your friends and families to tell them not to be lighting fireworks this summer the fire danger it just too great this year. I know some of you are very wet yet but there are some of that are extremely dry. Please folks be safe.

Recently I made an in-between donation. After a few weeks I got an invoice which I disregarded because I had just donated. I see I am a donor now but I have also been pink listed. Do I have to donate every six months even if I just did a month ago or how does it work?
