1. Should I go organics so that I don't wear down the discs? Wear the pad down, not the rotors? is what I'm thinking.

Ok, so I'm looking to replace my current saw with something a little more substantial.. Currently (and for the past 4 yrs) I've been swinging a Homelite Pro 20 in. Gas 46 cc saw. It originally came with a 16" bar/chain, so year 2, I bought a 20" bar setup for it. It cuts like a champ, albeit sometimes hard to start. It doesn't like to idle for more than 20 sec. or so, but it has cut many a cord of wood. The downside I have with it, is that 1) it wants to curve the cut when going through anything bigger than 10" diameter.. 2) it tends to stall the chain if you apply any real pressure to the saw when cutting. I don't want to spend $1000, or even $5…

The other day I had a member call me asking about loctite and such and although everyone has their own way of doing it, I thought it would really be neat to get a guide going as to when to use loctite, what type to use, fine vs. course. thread benefits, wire wheeling the bolts before reinstalling, what you should do to the hole before putting the bolt back in or just on a new install (new part install). Also the importance of proper bolt torque and what tolerances there are (how close to the spec does it need to be..) For instance, the red and blue loctite seem to mix together in applications if you ask me. I was thinking we could get some solid guidelines to which one…

  10. There is an awesome site where you can find those flights with live real time data flying over your head. Tells you a ton of data like how many seats are filled and how much the tickets cost even. It only tracks commercial flights though so the small private planes and military or any helicopter flights don't show up. Enjoy http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KBIS

Just a wondrin' Michael. Sounds like it's to damn dry to even fart outside while smoking around your parts. Twas looking forward to some pix.I've run my new stove probably a dozen times now. After the first 6, I added 3 feet to the chimney. World of difference. Now I don't have to be so anal about watching temps as I dial her down. She cruises at 550-600* stove top temps............beautiful secondaries going also. I'll post some pox of the secondaries later. Need to find a way to circulate the heat around the house now!!!!:banghead:

  12. Well it seem to never quit for me now I've got another web site to manage. This is a private web site for my fire dept and currently sharing a small part of the server. If the Salmon River Rural start to really using it they will take over the ownership on there own server. But here it is at... http://srrfd.mopar1973man.com It still rather raw. But this is going to hopefully soon have fire information of what going on up here in my local area.

I was just called tonight from Search and Rescue of Idaho County to do road closure for the fire areas. We are getting to many looky loo'ers driving up in the fire areas, etc. So I'm not sure when and where exactly yet but I'll be gone for 12 hour shifts for maybe 14 days. So I'll keep you all informed of what's happening...As for air quality here it nasty at times...

Man, just when I thought things would start turning around for the better... Been on this new job for 8 weeks now and the wife has already found grey hairs! Literally... I turn 24 this Saturday too, mind you. I took this job because I have prior experience in it thinking it would be a good avenue to take considering my prior situation before it. I was on the verge of being out of a house. Would have been on the street, pretty much. So I take a leap, move all my belongings to a storage unit and living on an air mattress in the parents house close to the job. Saving as much as possible and sticking it out without any creature comforts. Doing all that I can do to m…

Anybody ever hear of the hydrogen settup people are running these days? I talked to a guy tonight that has been building these and actually sold his patent for this settup. I dont know alot about it but he uses vinegar and said he hadnt filled the little container under his hood in probably 3 yrs. He had it in a 69 3/4 ton shortbed stepside chevy with 307 and a 3speed. Said it was a military truck and of course i told him he should put a 12v in it. he said he gets 25-26 mpg with that settup and he has done big rigs to vw tdi with great results.

  18. Here is a set of photos that are some of my favorites... plus I am playing with some free editing software, so lets go on a tour of one of my FAVORITE airplanes. Welcome to the front office of Battan, what was once General Douglas MacArthurs personal ride. And afterwards, Air Force one and Two for a while, and it retired as a radio relay aircraft over the Pacific for Apollo 11. There is only one addition to the current cockpit that wasn't originally operational in 1969, you should be able to spot it. Radio Operator and Radar Operators station, all original equipment, as it was used back in the 1950s. The galley, whic…

  19. Alright, so I was able to take a gander at the spreadsheet program and get familiar with it a little. Never used it before and took some time last night and composed this up:I decided to get myself a schedule made up so I can get things a little more organized than writing it all down in a notebook and have to fish through it all everytime in order to know which task is next. Looking at it, do you guys think I need to add, take away anything to make it more efficient and streamlined? All the red boxes are what task is to be done at that mileage. The *, or ^ is what type of task is to be done. I would either like to print it out or keep it digital and w…

I haven't found what I was looking for. I was thinking of a oval slotted rail inside the truck bed... they are often used as a toe rail on sailing yachts... But everthing I found was crazy money.
