I'm confused if the VP44 has failed with no codes?

Shop ran out of time today...  just getting second hand info from wife.  Last word was there was fuel "under the hood".  Some confusion as shop isn't familiar with aftermarket Airdog.  I'm going to have to call the shop on Monday.

Knowing how critical the computers are, I'd rather spend more to get a new computer...  but there may be a shipping delay no matter what is done.

DAP will drop ship an industrial injection pump to you if that's the case. They are new computers and they have a Bosch stand of their own. There is a way to test the pump independent of the ecm... it's on blue chips site if I recall correctly.

Repair shop is closed until Monday.  I found them on FB but no web site or email so I can't send a link to Blue Chip's diognostic.

DAP is closed so I can't even explore shipping options in advance.

Blue Chip is within driving distance but their prices are crazy.

I wonder what the prices would be from CumminsNortheast... there's one in Dedham Mass, right off I95

Shop just called.  Truck is up & running.  New filters.  Problem is she ran it down on fuel...  sucked air on a hill & down she went.   How many frigging times must I tell her???  Maybe she'll listen to the mechanic.   Fuel guages are not reliable.  Sometimes they read off.  She said it had 1/4 tank.  Mechanic said 1/8th.   I start looking for fuel at 1/2 tank...

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

One of the main reasons I will never put a draw straw in my tank. I spend too much time a LONG ways from civilization to make my 35 gal tank only have 20-25 usable gallons.

While many say 1/4 tank issues are less common with the current draw straws there is nothing as reliable as the OEM basket with integrated return.

But I am glad she is back up and running.

What a relief and good on them for not throwing parts at it first.  Too bad it cost you a weekend of worrying.

I was surprised to find new accessories from FASS...  new pickup tubes...

Get a ScanGauge and gives you a second indicator of miles to empty. You've also got the trip meter which is another indicator of fuel usage. That bean diesel sump is looking better all the time.

Running the VP dry is another nail in its coffin. Make sure to run the 2 cycle oil to keep it happy.

My draw straw has been very reliable. I accidently found out I can drive for a long time with the gas light on. The trick is to install it correctly....
