This thread is where I will post updates of my modifications, issues i've had, and potential upgrades I'm considering.

This page is dedicated to @TFaoro, because without him my truck would be bone stock still....

To start off, today my VP died.  It took me by surprise, as it gave no indication there was an issue.  But, it threw Death Code P1691, and that's that.  Good thing it died before I bought tires.

Is DAP everyone's first choice for a new VP?

  • That was all him lol. I stood by and provided encouragement.

  • I am jealous of the timing cover. Sure is purdy!!!

  • Yesterday I made a trip down to @TFaoro's shop to put a Fast cooler on my truck and do a pinion seal.  While there I was able to witness his new p pumped truck start up and go back together, while put

I like the bent spring end idea. I'm sure it has to raise pressure slightly.

I think after doing it it dropped slightly, then I gave it a slight stretch and it came up to about 19 now it's been settled for a while at 18. Haven't messed with it since.

I've been messing with this stupid fass for so long i'm compiling all the steps and am going to do all of them the first time.  Hopefully this will be the end of it

I'm glad someone caught the hidden question!  It felt pretty dumb to ask "does the airdog spring fit in a fass?"  Maybe I've been spending too much time in the Facebook groups reading "how much tire can I fit with no lift".....

While we're on the subject of stupid Facebook posts @jlbayes that one today about the new steering and the "3 inch spacers" made my morning

Either 12V and 24V Diesels or 2nd gen Cummins Nation.  Those two seem to have the best threads for both trolling and actual help

haha nice!

Hey @jlbayes you mentioned a few pages back about steel braided lines, where can you get those for our trucks?

I am not aware of any for 4 wheel disc trucks. I got mine from Russell. Russell 694540

Ok guys, I had a few packages show up today that made me feel like it was Christmas and my birthday rolled into one. First off we got a Viton ball and 17 psi spring to make my damn Fass stop acting up. Then we have a nice new set of headlights that will be painted satin black and retrofitted with the third package, which is a Morimoto Mini H1 projector kit complete with 6500K HID goodness!!!!

Maybe it's the beer or the truck parts, but I'm sure more excited than I have been all week!

New airdog spring and Viton ball are in, and now the fass holds 19-20 psi at idle and 16 WOT. And it's quiet as can be with new hose and new teflon tape on inlet fitting. So I'm gonna call it good enough.

Question for you guys. I've been using this Pennzoil Outdoor 2 stroke oil (pic related) and have noticed a huge difference in quietness. Has anyone else seen this around?  I've only been able to find it at one fuel station.

Nice, did you move the spring so the ball couldn't fall into it?

I've never seen that 2SO but I've honestly never looked for it since I go straight to the Wally World stuff

Spring was altered to prevent ball from getting stuck.  I ran out of the outdoor stuff last week and went to walmart to get some of theirs, truck was noticeably louder with the walmart oil...

I don't use the Walmart stuff because of inconvenience/ distance to go get it., but the big reason is I noticed it's a lot thinner or seems to be watered down. Whenever a place has a case of a good name brand in the gallon containers I will buy 1-2 cases if they give me a discount. Just paid $108 for 6 gallons at Oreilly's and will last me for awhile.

I noticed the Wally World stuff soaked thru cardboard much faster, made me suspect, when I used the cardboard paper towel center tubes for a funnel to pour into my flatbed.

Hmm that's interesting. I never heard of that Walmart stuff being thinner. I'll have to keep an eye out for other brands and see how they compare.

Projectors are in!  Only thing left to do is to put the lenses back on and then aim the new housings.  I am very pleased with the light output.  Morimoto sure makes a good product! (please excuse the lack of plastic on the bumper.  It came off to ease getting the housings in, and will be going back on)
