This thread is where I will post updates of my modifications, issues i've had, and potential upgrades I'm considering.  

 

This page is dedicated to @TFaoro, because without him my truck would be bone stock still....

 

To start off, today my VP died.  It took me by surprise, as it gave no indication there was an issue.  But, it threw Death Code P1691, and that's that.  Good thing it died before I bought tires.

 

Is DAP everyone's first choice for a new VP?

I'm multi-tasking guys....  compounds are a ways out yet.  But then again, so is that DOR track bar ??

IMO Steering / safety is always #1. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you literally have the worst steering of any vehicle I've ever driven. It makes @Me78569's feel like a sports car.

I have the supah heavy duty mantons per their recommendation. I've had EEP 110# valve springs for years. My stock cam looked great when I pulled it for the pump swap.

I've heard that Manton likes to recommend the biggest pushrods regardless of power goals.. I'll have to call them and see what the prices are

Bluetop in my 12v. No complaints.

 

Well remember I have 1k hp goals here lol. You do not need the big uns for what you have.

7/16 .120 wall can be had too. No need for those at your RPM and spring strength.

My truck steers better than @trreed ????

1/4 - 1/3 turn each direction without the wheels moving.....

It's not that much!  You can't get to 1/4 turn each direction, I've tried.  1/8 turn each direction at most.

 You keep telling yourself that!! I've driven it, and your girlfriend has driven it. The one thing we can both agree on is your steering is loser than (Insert analogy that shouldn't be said)

I've made a short video showing my steering wheel movement.

Now, I agree with you that my steering is loose and need addressed @TFaoro, but I am disagreeing with you on your claims of how much the wheel moves.  As you can see in the video, the wheel moves 1/8 of a turn to each side before it starts moving the wheels (shown by the tension in the shaft springing the wheel back to the center) for a TOTAL of 1/4 turn movement, not "1/4 to 1/3 of a turn to each side"

 

 

 This is the best show I have seen in a while. Makes me feel better about my steering. Kind a like bonus footage.
