    Sad I bought my truck in Ontario, OR back in 2002 and Oregon doesn't have any sale taxes at all but as soon as I registered in Idaho I had to cut a check for the full 6% sale tax in Idaho on top of what I paid for all the other doc fees.

    And here in good ole Cali east (PA) that 6% gets added every time the truck gets sold. So if the truck gets sold 4 times in it's life the state collects 6% off of every sale. Oh, and in case you would think about cheating on the selling price we have a fair market value law now. They use NADA to value the truck which in my experience in the highest there is. If you sell for less you have to fill out and sign an affidavit. But then again we have the highest fuel taxes in the nation so it's only right.

    This may apply to other states as well, don't know.

    In NC if i paid one dollar for my truck I would taxes on the value of the truck not one dollar. I just don know what they base it on.

    at the risk of sounding like an old timer, what the f was wrong with blade fuses?   the thought of paying $5 for a fuse drives me to drink
