It sounds just like wind in a tunnel. Goes right alongside turbo boost. Stops when letting off the throttle and starts when getting into it consistently. IC boots look fine. Very little shaft play. What could cuase this? Thanks!

Never going to happen. BHAF is way better than stock airbox. This is one reason I dumped the stock air box long ago. The turbo heat will deform the plastic over time and the clamping force on the filt

  • If my turbo whistles I wouldn't hear it.  I turn my hearing aids off when I drive: this makes my truck nice and quiet.

  • Man, some days I wish I had a quiet single. Especially after longer trips. With the smaller injectors, I used to run 10 psi cruising. Like this, but for 13 hours. https://youtu.be/suiMU-fTFK0 Cou

Barely hear the whistle... 21* degree of timing really keeps that turbo quiet and boost low.

Remember the amount of drive time I put in. I can tell you 20-21* of timing will make the turbo near silent

Absolutely true, at 70 I'm at 21 and at 60 at 19.5 turbo is at 0-2 psi

Maybe you guys are on to something with quiet singles. I had a girl in the pickup a while back who said she loved compounds because “the more turbo whistle the better”. 10 miles later she was making me drive with a light foot cause it was too loud. There wasn’t a second date.

There is. It’s called large injectors and a light foot. The 6 x 0.013’s did the most. Dropped from 10 psi cruise to 4-5. A quarter of the noise.

With the BHAF on mine I don't hear the turbo until I get above 10 PSI ,that only lasts until about 16 then quiets down until I hit 20 PSI and then starts to howl above 23 PSI

She's not a true friend then, good let her go, cause if she was this is what she'd look like. And I think she's cute.
