hello everyone I hope you are having a good start to the weekend my question is this my truck has in tank lift pump and it's dead so I'm ready to make the upgrade but first I need to know what's the best way to do it my truck is 2001 3500 5.9 24v with 6 speed manual transmission I thank you all for your advice

Go with a full AD or Fass for an electric pump. Fuel Boss is a mechanical pump that several here have had good sucess with. There are 1 or 2 other mechanical out there also.

I was reading a lot about the upgrade and I was thinking on fass but I need make another's modifications right? Or can I leave the old pump on the tank and just install the new one ?

I never heard something about this but I'm going to read this info thank you so much 

I tow a heavy duty trailer almost every day I'm paying 26 thousand pounds on CA number of course I live on California you guys know another place where you pay ridiculous quantities of money for everything on DMV, you guys know if I can make something else for my truck honestly deserves something else all year running like a champ only maintenance

All the old fuel system has to be removed. The pump in the tank and all the fuel lines which are too small. The FASS, AirDog or even the mechanical pumps upgrade all the plumbing to full 1/2" plumbing. You'll end up putting a draw straw in the tank. Running all brand new 1/2" fuel hose and fittings. I highly suggest you keep your factory fuel filter. Double filtering is a bonus.

The factory engine return is the only thing that stays. It is a cleaner install just remove it all. I did keep the factory filter in mine also.

Thank you big boss I go for fuel boss mechanical I think is a good advice for dripley I just make the order last night I let you guys know when my baby is ready and how works 

Mechanical fuel boss and a draw straw is a good set up that’s what I run too  I would highly recommend a fuel pressure gauge along with the install if you don’t already have one. Typically you will see between 17 and 19 psi. consistently with the fuel boss

You made a good choice. 

I would also grab a fleet guard fuel strainer to run on your fuel feed line which will catch the larger stuff if you happen to run across some dirty fuel.

thank you for taking the time to answer, I think I have seen on a website a vulcan kit is that a good selection or you think I can get something better ?

Thanks my friend I think my truck knew when to finish the race December is the month of vacation for her hahaha I had the worst of experiences with a powerstroke and without thinking one day I came home with a cummins I am more than satisfied with these beasts

Thank you for the advice I just check the link small details makes a big difference 

Vulcan is a good supplier of the isspro ev series gauges, I have the isspro electric fuel pressure gauge myself but the mechanical fuel pressure gauge is just as good if not better, just depends if you want to run the fuel line into cab or not, 

 

what ever one you decide to go with, getting the complete installation kit is a good idea that way your not sourcing bit and pieces to get it installed.

i usually have about 19-21psi (sender is kinda gbleh though) but even WOT it doesnt go below.

my fuel boss is plumbed from stock pick up, stock hard line at frame. from there it is all 3/8 push lok. i still have factory filter house/heater installed, along with a fass ddrp that was on the truck when i purchased it. i had 1 piece of junk hang the return check valve open after install way back in 2014. not one issue since. i also see 22 psi when running, 24-25 at wot. 

 

not 22 psi at cranking, as pressure increases with rpm, so at crank, the psi is very low.
