I just replaced the injection pump, the fass lift pump is working good, the pump is getting plenty of fuel. But I cant get it to run, it will start with ether but wont stay running. I have primed the pump and bled the filter housing getting the air out. Please help If you can

Most likely have a suction air leak or possibly the starter is turning over too slow because the starter worn out or batteries are too weak. Most likely sucking air being you can start it on ether but it fails to keep running.

Did you bleed the high pressure lines?

Sometimes it takes awhile to get fuel out of all the lines, as long as you getting fuel out of three close them down and it should fire it up, if starter and batteries are good like mentioned. The other ones will bleed them self once it's running.

It won't fire at all unless its given ether but it dies immediately. I'm getting fuel to 2 4, 5. I havent tried 6 but nothing from 1 or 3

Got to have at least 3 lines closed with prime to make it start. 

Are you getting good flow or just a dribble. 

Really good amount coming from 2,4,5 the lift pump is supplying the pump with plenty of fuel

Once those 3 are flowing good close them and the hit it with a small shot of ether and light it up. 

If everything but 2 had fuel it would run.

 

Crack them all and start over

Sometimes they can be stubborn. Good fuel to 3 cylinders ought to start it.

I had that problem. The issue turned out to be a bad 'new ' injection pump right out of the box.

Was a very frustrating and trouble filled time but having spent a week trying everything suggested here and way more had to get another 'new' injection pump and it fired up and ran fine.

I used ether when I had 3 lines with fuel, but it still dies almost immediately. I did see air bubbles coming out of 1 and 3 when I used ether

You may have a bad VP out of the box. I would think if it started on either it ran long enough to bleed the lines out. 

You did have the 3 with fuel tightened up right?

Yes before I fired it up with ether

Might be time to make a warranty call to investigate at least.

If you have a manual and a little room you can pull them.  We actually used to start them on the ranch that way when the hired men ran them out of fuel. Which happens more often than you would think...... Good luck
