Kinda curious here, what does his VP44 history look like? And are those wheels off a 3rd gen? I can't believe how good they look.

I know he's been through a few lift pumps and VP44's but how many of each I'm not sure... I remember not to long ago he bought a NAPA VP44 pump and it didn't last much more that a few thousand miles... (3-5 days) I know he'll correct me if I'm wrong...

Thats frigggin impressive !!!! Towing and all - and not a 3k atv trailer - hahahah bow to you sir :thumbup2:

Those are 3rd gen wheels and hubcaps. I've got the same wheels on my 95, but had to use the 2nd gen hubcaps because the 3rd gen caps wouldn't fit over the drum brake hubs.

He has an 01 so I take it he has the 01.5 with all disc brakes. I need all new caps anyways. Those wheels look so awesome though. You got a pic of your truck? How do they even fit when I thought they went to metric sizes or something in 2003?

We have a local tire shop with a 2wd first gen cummins with over a million miles and have done nothing but clutches and getrag tranny repairs a few times.

You're thinking of Fords. As far as I know, the lug pattern hasn't changed on Dodge or Chevy.

Outstanding post-10449-138698170487_thumb.gifI hope I'm lucky enough to see half of those miles? Do you know what kind of oil he is running?

I know for a fact all these miles were done on petroluem oils... I think its Chevron Delo 15W-40 is what he told me... But maybe he'll tell...

When I see trucks with so many miles gives me hope :thumbup2:

The oil is Dello or whatever is on sale. I change it every 8 to 10k miles. I think I have had 4 or 5 vps. I kill transmissions more often. My transmission gave out today as I was driving down the road. No go.

From what he told me last night on the phone... For $1,200 bucks in this transmission and got 300K plus on this transmission I'd say he got his money worth... :thumb1:

Moparman is right. I paid $1200 to have the transmission rebuilt. It included a transgo shift kit. I also bought the $800 triple disc torque converter off ebay. I have been running fine for 314k miles. That is 314 hard and heavy towing miles. I have no beef with any of that. I just wish I knew what failed so I could replace it with a better part. I am going to get another trans from the same placce and another torque converter as well. We will have to wait until it is opened up to see what is going on.

I do not have an underdrive/overdrive.

Was that a Revmax Torque Converter? Just wondering, I bought mine from them as well and have been very happy with it...

WOW very impressive sir I do love the cummins for what they can do for sure. How many miles do you average a year?

That don't make sense to me. I have 3rd gen wheels ('06) and tires on my '96 and the hub caps fit good.

900k is amazing.:thumb1: I heard that Dodge will give you 25,000 bucks toward a new Dodge truck if you clean 1 million miles. Not sure if that is true, but if I were at 900k I'd start doing some research to see if that is fact and get a deal on a new rig!

If you need some help breaking the 1M mark, let me know and I'll be happy to roll your speedometer forward for you. It's only illegal to roll it back, right?
