Hello all, Hope all is well. I have the steel rims on my 98.5, but always like the nicer wheels that were on the 99 and up. I have seen the newer factory rims and tires on the trucks and they look great. I know they went to disc brakes but I have drums in the rear. I would rather have the older rims. Thanks,John

My 01.5 has the rear discs. I don't know if the disc brake wheels will fit your hubs.Russ

I have always heard that the aluminum rims from the disc break trucks will not fit the older trucks. I have had both the 17 inch aluminum and steel 3rd gen wheels on my 98 and the both fit and look great.

i think all the wheels were 16's up to the 3rd gen!!! I think

As far as I know its all 16" inch rims from 1st gen to 3rd gen then it jumped to 17" rim to fit the oversized disc brakes...

Nope, sorry, but the alloy and steel wheels from a disc brake equipped truck will not fit on one with drum brakes. I have tried both and the won't clear the drums or the tie rod on the front.

Out of curiosity, how much different are the front TREs between the two? They look identical between my '96 and '01 on the front knuckles.

The drums are huge on the '96, so I can see where there may be a fitment issue, but I'm not certain.

Thanks, I've often wondere that myself! I like the factory set up on my dually w/ the 4 holes. But if someone steals one of my center caps I may be S.O.L!

Well since guys run the H2 rims. I wonder if the factory rims off of a duramax would work. I have acess to a set of them.

The only problem with this chart is I have a set of steel wheels off of one that had disc brakes and they do not fit any of the drum brake trucks.

I have a set of 16 alloys off an 01 laying around. I am headed up to egg harbor pretty soon. I can put them in the truck if you are looking to buy some. This way you could try them first.

those are 17's but they should still work i had a friend of mine running a set of these on his 1989 suburban.
