  1. That sucks it may be fixable if the insurance company does a close inspection and what they find all wrong with it. To me it looks like 2555 with a 245 loader. Around here in the summer the SPFH and combines burn up along with plenty of tractors and skidloaders in the winter months. Most happen because of dirt and grime that builds up on the machines.
  2. What are you running exactly a Comp or JWA? Anyway with it set on 5x5 it will smoke a considerable amount. Normally on my JWA I run either 1x5 or 2x5. It still smokes some but nothing like the higher settings.
  3. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2001/18-019-01.htm At the end of this TSB it explains why the dealer is saying that. The reflash will work just fine. If you want the 3 cyl mode make sure that they enable it. It is not enabled in the initial download. I made sure to tell the tech to enable it when I had mine reflashed. I was billed for 45 minutes of "labor."
  4. I agree, anything bigger and EGT's climb too much while towing. When I was shopping for mine. I looked at DDP, BD, RV275's, and Industrial Injection. I was talking to a local diesel shop about it. They recommended any of the first three. I am not putting down Industrial, just they(the shop) had some bad experiences back then with some products. I have bought stuff from Throroughbred Diesel, which is down your neck of the woods. I have called them up and asked questions and if they didn't know the answer they found it and called me back. I am not advertising for them, I am just a satisfied customer.
  5. Definitely a worth while upgrade and easy to do. I have the BD's for 5 years now and still working good. Everytime I complete a project; I think of something else. I think I need to join a support group. DA(Diesel's Anonymous)
  6. I had to look this one up my '00 chrysler service manual and it says what 98whitelightnin said 89 inch lbs.
  7. I have been riding bikes since I was 12 and got away from it now. I still have a Yamaha LT2 and sold the CT3. I use to ride a XT500 street bike, but I am always lugging a bunch of junk to and from work. I didn't ride it and sold that too. I put on alot miles on the LT2. It is fun a little bike. Want to fix it up so I can take it to Road America to ride around to different parts of the track to watch the races. I also have a 2000 Honda Foreman ES. That thing is a work horse. Bought it with a Moose plow, I am impressed with the plow. I have chains on all 4 tires and not much stops it. Also gets used out in the woods when cutting wood. I do a little trail riding up in northern WI, not as much as I like to. Did alot of riding on Dusty Trails and now stick with the Pembine trail system. Everyone is busy now a days and it is hard to get people together. I even still have the original battery in it. When I am not going to use it for a while I have a battery minder to put on it. It is not a fast 4 wheeler. But it always works. My friends have been through a couple of 4 wheelers(not Honda's) and have had problems with them. I have had to tow some of them back to truck with the Honda.
  8. The juice with attitude has a fuel pressure sensor. It would be installed in the inlet to the injection pump on a '01.Where is the boost reading for the pod guage taken. On average a 1-2psi drop is seen from the compressor outlet to the intake. Do you see any evidence where the injector lines or valve cover where taken off for injector work. How does the truck drive in the stock setting. Does it appear to have more smoke than a stock truck. If the truck runs strong and starts good(cold and warm) I would say the pump is working fine. My 50's will smoke more than the stock injectors in the stock setting too. Sounds like nice truck with great miles. I can't find anything close to that around here anymore.

Looks like the outer bearing failed. Did they have the rotor off to inspect or repack the wheel bearings? If so you may have a case.
  10. I have been running an Edge for 6 years and have it set to defuel at 30 psi and have hit that limit many times, with no issues. With the kit came a device that installed in the compressor housing that opened the wastegate at a higher psi. Not sure what it was set to. If you are not the original owner maybe someone forgot to take it out or disconnected the wastegate? I installed a different turbo and inspected my HX 35 and it was in good shape, the wastegate opened with a shot of compressed air.
  11. I had the same problem with my '91.5. The block heater element burned out. Also check the cord in the engine compartment to make sure it is not rubbed though or loose on the heater.
  12. I looked around and it seems the gear case with the indentation to hold the dowel pin in was used on some 24 valves and on some it wasn't. All the way up to '02. The cover would have to be pulled to find out.
  13. When I put in my cam in I looked at it. On my 2000 the hole you look through to see the dowel pin is smaller than the O.D. of the pin. Not sure when this changed. Maybe when the switch was made over to the 24 valve? Sorry the picture isn't greatest quality.
  14. Had a similar experience with a ugly garden gnome. Great stress reliever.
  15. Hello, I have been running a Edge Juice with Attitude on my '00 for about 6 years now and it works great and has alot of excellent features I was looking for. I didn't see any significant MPG gains but the power is nice. If you go the downloader route, Smarty or Smarty Jr gets my vote. I got to play around with a Smart Jr and try out different settings on my uncles '06. It is a very nice product. We left the milage tune in it and he has seen 2 mpg increase on the highway. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't. The edge has treated me good. I do hear some stories about how the company is run after it has been sold off and customer service isn't what it use to be. But I have no first hand experience with this. I hope the quality of the product is still of good quality and not cheapened up.
  16. I found painless performance has a kit #30816. I think this should work, but I would contact them to make sure. They want north of $200 each. Two would be required for the quad lamps. So far summit racing has the cheapest Painless kit I can find at $174. The Daniel Stern, if you can get it doesn't look so bad cost wise if you don't mind wiring it. I didn't find anything bad about the painless kit. Just it seems expensive to me. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/prf-30816 http://www.painlesswiring.com/webcatalog/largeview.php?SearchField=30816
  17. I am not sure if this what you are looking for, but it might be worth a call to see if it will work with the conversion to quad lamps. I was looking at the harness at the top of the page. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/full.aspx?Page=61
  18. Thank you for welcome. Yes it came off a '86 Ford F350 wrecker, it was made by Holmes. I found it on craigslist and it required some modifications to fit on the truck. Spent $200 total on it, sure beats spending over 1k on some of those new ones.
  19. Hello I am new to this forum and like it very much. Alot of 2nd gen topic discussions here. I have a '00 with the sport headlights, I feel they have better low beams than the regular headlights. My father has a '98 with the regular healights and I don't like them. The high beams are also brighter with the sport. I have added Hella 500 fog and driving lights with additional Hella optilux fog lights that aim in ditch. The 4 fog lights turn on together with a toggle switch and the 2 driving lights with the high beams. I work on farms and drive tractors with a dozen or so lights and I have grown use to having a well lit vehicle. I also added 4 rear facing flood lights. I wouldn't have to hook up another trailer in the dark. I added the lights and bumper after I fixed the truck after hitting a deer. I like the sport or quad lamps and have no complaints about them.
