Alright, I have read and read about lift pumps..... what is the verdict?
I have been running the BD OEM bypass for 6 years with not a single issue. It was easy to install. Plugs into the factory connector for the lift pump, no relays to install. I have it mounted as close to the fuel tank as possible and am using the stock filter housing. It runs a Carter 4601 pump which is good for 100 GPH free flow. There are those who will say otherwise, but my experience has been positive.

I was a little naughty...
I have been tempted more than once but with the straight pipe, I just give them some noise(that don't sound right to me, I would call it music to my ears). I do admit to smoking a tailgater a time or two though. The bicyclist around here have lanes that are wider than the car lanes, I hate it because they are still riding in the car lanes sometimes because they are smoother.

looking for hubcap 2001 2500
I have 2 that match that part number. I put them in very good condition with no chips and a bright finish. If you want to buy one send me a PM. I had to buy 2 rims a few years ago because mine had cracked. Edit: If you are wondering why I have boxes with the part number is because when I bought the truck it was missing 2 caps so I paid $80 a piece and then had to buy tires and found out I needed two rims they came with two caps anyways. Edit 8-8-13 Both caps are sold.

Ranch Hand
Very nice, it looks very clean. My Holmes was too heavy for two people to pick up for any amount of time. Ended up using an engine hoist. I looked for a long time for a ranch hand or something similar, but never found anything. I like having the extra insurance against a deer or something. I am sure you will like it, I have no regrets about my set up.

Truck tool boxes
I like the chest type tool box. I have had it for a long time and it still works great. I have a Northern Tool. Not sure on the TS boxes but on my Northern it has an offset hinge on the box, so it can be mounted flush to the front of the pick box. Mine is a 60.75"L x 20.5"W x 18.5"H. Edit: Here's a link to what I have.http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200343632_200343632?isSearch=3480030

Hoooot!
Last year it was 90 to 100 degrees with 80 to 90% humidity. I loved it. For once I wasn't cold. Milking cows in the barn was a warm sweaty job, but I don't mind that. In August of 2012 I flew out to Spokane to visit family and we ended up going to the Northern Idaho State Fair(if that's not the right name, I am sorry) in Coeur d'Alene. It was 92 degrees with 25% humidity. A bunch of people we talked to complained about the heat. I thought it was very nice.

engine running hot
Ok I wasn't sure. Someday I would like to install the tappet cover with the breather on it. It's on the list.

engine running hot
Didn't the puke bottle debut in the 2000 model year? I was thinking thermostat maybe. I have had this happen in some tractors with 12 valve Cummins(5.9's and 6.7's) They start to run hotter than normal but never reach the red zone. Replaced the t-stat and returned to normal. On my truck it failed the other way, the truck never warmed up on my drive home work on a 85 degree day only reached 160.

Help me pick a turbo...
I think that would work good with your mods. I am running a DDP 62/65/13 non-gated. It's a little laggy, but once it lights I have no smoke. Works well for towing too, I hardly see anything over 1000 and if I do only for a short period of time. It will smoke down low, but it is very controllable.

- wanting a custom shift knob, will it fit??
From everything I read - Yes they should work. I see they are made by same manufacturer as your shift knob. Wouldn't hurt to call and confirm with them. Edit: I tried the link again and it worked. There is a link on the page to the chart of adapters, its looks like ASCAD14 is the one you want. I just did a search and came up with the assortment in my previous post.- wanting a custom shift knob, will it fit??
I have a Geno's shift knob and it says M10 x 1.5mm. Works for '89-'12 trucks. Tried the link and it didn't work for me. I found these adapters from the same company. I have not used them personally, but at least it will let you use the shift knob. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hfm-00423/applications/?prefilter=1- 4" Exhaust
Sometimes I feel a disclaimer should be included with diesel parts and accessories. Such as may cause you to smile ear to ear when you fire the truck up in the morning. Fuel mileage may vary during the "honeymoon" period. When your turbo(s) spool, you may giggle like a little girl. When towing you can multiply the effects by 2. When towing a Ford or Chevy, at least x5. Glad you are enjoying the new exhaust.- Screaming Beavers
Warp speed Mr. Sulu! Nice Video.- Butt pucker!
I agree too, bigger tires are hurting you. I am not an automatic trans guy, but if I remember right those trans don't circulate fluid in park. You would have to shift to neutral to circulate it though the cooler. With my mods I don't see much over 1000 towing, normal cruising with the trailer I see 800 to 850 at 60 mph. I have a Reese fifth wheel hitch(non slider) and it creaks and stuff. Mostly stopping and starting and turning. Last night I was using the trailer(32ft enclosed trailer w/ living quarters) to move a friend to his new house and his brother was riding with me. He asked about the creaking and noise too. You just have to get use to the trailer and will get more comfortable with it the more you use it.- too cute, could'nt resist~
I saw a bumper sticker that said, "98% of Fords are still on the road, the other 2% made it home." My buddy once had an 2003 7.3 and this was a common sight.- Got a new toy today
Gonna change cams since you will be right there? Should be an interesting project.- Screaming Beavers
How do you like the wrap around handle on there? I just have a plain 460 with a 25 inch bar. I have never used one with that handle.- Screaming Beavers
This is last tree we cut up about a month ago. That big maple that will heat the house for 3/4's of a winter. I have a 460 and sure do love it. Had to quarter the chunks so we could handle them. Don't use the skip tooth chain much, but it sure was handy to have for that tree.- Need front pads on my DD,
I recently had mine apart to do a hub conversion and it was T47 for the caliper bolts. I bought a set when I worked on my friends silverado from Sears it had a T27, 47, 55, 60. the smaller two are 3/8" drive and the bigger two are 1/2". I think I paid $30 or so. The regular set I have didn't have the sizes we needed. Edit: I thought you where talking about the '01. My mistake.- MPG discussion
I have noticed with mine, when I park overnight and start it the next morning I have 100% fan engagement for 1-2 minutes before it slows down. I assume this is the amount of time it takes for the fluid to disperse and return to normal. Been like this for as long as I have owned it(7 yrs). The fan still kicks in when needed and there is no mistaking it, when it does. Checking it on a cold engine may not give an accurate diagonise. Run it for a little while, then check.- What is going on here?
I saw a Ford with 6.4L doing the same thing a while ago. He had a small trailer and was driving about 55 and leaving a trail of blueish/whitish smoke. I thought I read somewhere that a failing DPF could cause this. I maybe wrong though. I do know one thing, it sure did smell bad. - wanting a custom shift knob, will it fit??
