  1. That’s what I was thinking too
  2. Haven’t checked with Quadzilla on this but anyone else experience some iQuad display issues, specifically with some stray numbers showing up? See pics below of the number 80 in the engine load square and 30 shows up in the same location in the default gauge display. This is a mini Apple iOS tablet. Anyone else have this issue? Not a big deal but thought I’d ask.
  3. Holy s@*! I’m a degreed engineer but I seriously need to go back to school to follow along with this project. Love the innovation.
  4. Haven't heard Rammstein in a while. Nice!
  5. I like redundancy in my gauges. I run 2 pyros and 2 fuel pressure gauges. Mechanical and electronic gauges via the quad. Might be overkill to some. Also always take the tablet with me when I leave truck for any extended amount of time.
  6. Yeah very satisfying being able to reuse that tablet from my old electronic device scrap heap! The tablet stand was less than $20 on Amazon.
  7. I found a used Apple tablet and rigged it up with a stand that fits in the cup holder. Really useful setup with easy hands on access and so much easier to see than using a phone.
  8. Yeah minimal rust on the existing downpipe and whole exh system for that matter. Don't own a acetylene torch - might be time I acquired one! I need a larger workshop/garage too. Going to document this little upgrade and post it here in case anyone's interested.
  9. I'm finally getting motivated to install a new ATS T3 3-pc pulse exh manifold and ATS Aurora turbo on to my 2002 that I've had on hand for a while. Goal is to have a better spooling turbo for towing and a more durable/efficient manifold. Going to install the 2 things as a pair. Question is how to deal with the downpipe to the new ATS turbo. Currently my setup has a 4" downpipe connected with a flange coupling to a stock exhaust elbow to a HX35/Fleece turbo. What I' m anticipating is a few visits to a local exhaust shop to cut off the existing downpipe and then re-install the new down pipe that shipped with the aurora and then hope there's correct clearance to connect up to the new turbo as I don't have the welding tools at home. Have to deal with the HX40 v-band coupling and new clearances to the new turbo, and of course dealing with a truck that's temporarily not drivable without a exhaust. Kind of an unmotivating factor to this upgrade thinking about this part of the process. Anyone dealt with something similar to this?
  10. 100% agree. that's why we're on here splitting hairs! Keeps me sane for the most part.
  11. Yeah but w/stock there was also no provided EGT gauge or fuel pressure gauge etc which are universally accepted now as must have things for safe operation.
  12. Yeah that's for sure. It was a rare 90 degree yesterday on the west side of Washington state so I had it at full blast.
  13. Curious on what people use for the iQuad Turbo Timer setting - minutes or temp and what values? I currently set mine for 330 degrees. Lately on hot summer days (like now) it takes a good amount of time to get to temp to shut off the ignition. Not sure what (or if) there are optimum values to cool the turbo down. Thanks
  14. I have the dual disk brakes on my 02. I think the 02 was the only year for the 2nd gens (I think). Stopping power is pretty good even with carrying my 2800 lb camper. Have thought about installing a pacbrake. Could happen in the never ending project that is my truck.
  15. Thought I’d update this thread with the new wheels. Think I like them. Will take a bit of time to adjust. Still have the stock chrome wheels so i can always go back to them. What. Do you all think?
  16. Definitely trade offs with everything. Just have to find the happy medium.
  17. Yeah the numbers don’t lie. But man those 245s tires sure look puny! For now I’m going to optimize everything else in & around the truck before I size down. Great dialogue though. Thanks
  18. Related question on tire size. My current tires are 285/75/16s and the build sheet for my truck lists 265/75/16s so really not much difference. However, the driver-side door sticker lists 245s. Curious on what my speedo is set to. Anyone else have this issue?
  19. I've heard/read from at least a dozen 2nd gen owners now that 7x010s are the right size now. Not everyone though had a 47re. And yeah i don't want to service my trans ever again so being light on the pedal and quad power is what I'll plan to do. Just want a comfortable tow rig mostly but not so constrained on power that it can't turn a few heads once in a while.
  20. Another question on this topic for those with autos/47re's and bigger injectors. If my newly built 47re is rated up to 450 HP at the crank should I be wary of going anything bigger than my current 50hp injectors or maybe stretch to 7x009s? 7x010s may be pushing the envelope even with running CAN bus fuel settings on the Quad and no wire tap. Thoughts form the sages out there on this?
  21. You passed right by my house and didn't stop for a beer! I use Google maps for all my long trips. Never thought to use the trip report #s like this but I will going fwd. thanks
  22. Yeah. The build sheet for my truck was 265/75/16s and now I’m running 285s so not too much difference.
  23. I think I need to see the Mopar1973Man ECO tune tune that's mentioned in this thread. I'm certainly not getting anything near some of these quoted MPGs. I'm nearer 15/16 even without towing. Something's not right. Going to benchmark after my next fuel up. The overhead console trip MPG vs Quad trip data are so vastly different. I have to do some hand calculations.
  24. Yeah the Cheetah is a 63/65. I'm planning on swapping it for a faster spool ATS 3000 58/73 to tow with.
  25. Warming up this thread again...looking at new injectors on the DAP website while I make plans to replace my existing 50hp DDPs. Moparman et al - what are your recommendations - Re-man Bosch bodies or new? VCO vs SAC? I'm likely going with 7x10 or 9 sizes. Thanks...
