  1. I hope its display related. Thats one area that's long overdue for a fix.
  2. Could be the Tune your running now that the VP is wiretapped. I've had the truck do this and found I hadn't loaded the tune properly. Just a thought.
  3. Has the killer grid heater bolt fixed with later 4th Gens? I picked up a '21 3500 and thought I heard Doge had fixed it.
  4. BTW after investigating it was cylinder #2 that was seeping fuel. Removed the intake horn/grid heater and the fuel line was way loose at the head. Can't believe I didn't tighten this down properly. I recently did an injector upgrade and must have neglected this step at some point during the buttoning up process.
  5. You might want to also consider a new steering box. Installing a redhead box helped tighten up my steering big time. Enjoy driving this thing down the road now. I can practically 2 finger the wheel when cruising even while towing now.
  6. Thank you kindly to both of you. Going to have to locate a low profile crowfoot wrench to verify torque settings. Some of those clearances are tight.
  7. Anyone else experience a loosening of fuel injector lines over time? I just started to smell some diesel fuel in/around the cabin and checked the lines to the head and saw some droplets around the injectors on the intake plate. Checked the tightness of some of the injectors and some weren't snugged all the way. I can only think they've loosened up over time due to general engine vibration but surprised that they did. Is there even a reqd torque spec on these? Thought they just had to be good and snug. Thanks Mark
  8. Yup, go with TIMBO. I purchased directly from their website and got free shipping. Mark
  9. Anyone out there with a 1 ton Cummins with the Aisin recommend it for truck camper hauling or will the 68rfe trans handle it fine? Think the Aisin is likely overkill for a 3000LBish truck camper in the back but not certain either. I'm looking to purchase a 4th Gen 3500 short bed as I want the rear leafs for my camper. Haven't seen much info on 1 tons with truck campers with the Aisin. thanks...mark
  10. there's some leaking at the tappet and minor seepage at the vacuum/PS pump. I'm sort of in a mode now to just fix things when they break but probably makes sense to in this instance to take care of it all.
  11. All - planning a VP44 replacement soon and I'm wondering while in the vicinity if I should take care of a few other things. Namely tappet cover gasket, vacuum/steering pump seal, cam sensor. Think this "while i'm there" question has been asked a million times. What say the folks here?
  12. I converted my truck a few years back to the Sport quad bulb setup w/relays. With 50% more bulbs than the stock lights it surely made a difference. However, i just picked up some Fahren LEDs to see if this helps even more. I may be falling victim to some LED marketing here but LEDs weren't that expensive and I'm surely swapping out halogen bulbs way too frequently.
  13. Awesome to see a plan come to fruition. I bet that convoy turned some heads! Well done sir. Mark
  14. Just might have to do that! Taking the Lance TC out this weekend to a ski hill. First time in the snow.
  15. Nice. I've been thinking about swapping out my regular bulbs to LEDs. I upgraded my truck to the Sport model Quad bulbs. Good to see some cost-effective options here. Thanks! Mark
  16. This happened to me all the time while the truck was cold, especially shifting into Drive (Reverse was ok). After it warmed up for 5+ minutes it wouldn't stall. Then after I had my trans rebuilt the condition went away but there is a slight engine microsecond hesitation shifting into R or D while the engine is not at full operating temp. I installed new DAP 7x.009 injectors a few months ago and they were set to 311 Bar.
  17. Same comments for RedHead. Hasn't been 3 years for me yet but what a difference it made to the driving experience in my truck. -Mark
  18. I used to have a Westach combo EGT/Boost gauge installed in my truck from the previous owner several years ago. Wanted to like the thing but the internal springs kept getting fowled and the pointers stuck and wouldn't move. Sent in to Westach twice to get it fixed and then ended up just selling it. Don't know why i had bad luck with them. Mark
  19. I've got a bit of a hodge podge of gauges. My FP gauge is an ISSPro and boost, EGT & Trans in the a-pillar are by GlowShift which does get a bad rap, but they've been working fine for me for a year+. I think if/when they die I'll swap to full ISSPro. I also have a similar variation with EGT temps between the Quad and Pillar. Usually take the ave of the 2.
  20. I have 2 sets of gauges in my truck specifically for FP, EGT and boost for redundancy. Could be a little overkill but may as well use the gauge capability of the Quad along with some pillar gauges.
  21. Look good. Here’s a shot of mine. They’re bright. Might need to align them a little.
  22. I just recently swapped my factory fogs for some 3" LED light pods from eBay. Have to say they are very well made and were inexpensive ($70). I wired into the existing fog harness. I also think they look a bit more modern than stock and throw some nice light when you need them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/133498689159
  23. I'm guessing you checked for fuel/air leaks at the fuel lines and at the intake boots after the injector install? Simple things like that can mess with how it runs.
  24. Yeah that's an interesting option. Pricey! I run a deep pan w/a Mishi trans cooler and it will warm up pretty quickly when it idles even when cold out. I'd say at a glance it's close to the test results listed on the website.
