  1. Great history there John. I just had a conv with DAP on the right replacement pump. The big question is if I plan to wiretap the new one with the Quad and the warranty I go with. Leaning to leave it alone and just increase injector size and run normal canbus fueling tunes. I know what’s on my Xmas list this year!
  2. Yeah probably need to just suck it up and get it swapped and be done with it.
  3. Thanks for that info on T-bred. They sure do have a big presence on YouTube and some big marketing around their core program on VPs. I will more than likely just continue to shop at DAP. I will need peace of mind when I drop the $1200+ on a VP. I've been contemplating selling this rig (but likely will just keep) but I couldn't sell knowing the VP was faulty.
  4. I'd probably be interested too. Put me on the short list.
  5. Quick update....replaced the APPS with a Timbo and then everything seemed fine and then after a couple days the problem resurfaced briefly also only when the truck was cold. Still no CEL/codes present. I think through process of elimination that the VP is failing as was suggested earlier in this thread. Still seems a little unusual to me to fail with low miles (97K) but the truck still is 20+ years old and $hit brakes down.
  6. Yep, agreed. That's the deciding factor. True in all kinds of business. When the differences in technology/product from one supplier to the next are minimal its the customer service aspect that retains the business.
  7. On this same topic, who is the best supplier of rebuilt VPs? I frequently purchase from DAP and I'm a fan and I hear others recommend them for VPs but what about others such as Thoroughbred etc? I think I'm likely in need of one sooner than later.
  8. Interesting thread here...I think there's definitely something to a natural eb & flow of climate on our planet. We've only got a tiny amount of data to construct climate models on from how old the planet is. We're in a warming period right now and how much is that just part of a natural rhythm and how much is that man-made. I do agree there's a use case for diesel, EVs etc. Just like everything technology has to advance but it has to be a measured approach.
  9. Nah. Someone else did. Still looking but I’m in no hurry.
  10. The Adrenaline uses the same data link connector so not sure you'll be able to share it to hook up the Adrenaline. Someone else I'm sure on here has run into the same issue who has an exhaust brake and a Quadzilla or other tuner.
  11. yeah not something I'd leave to chance either. And looks like you're in MN so you're using the heater quite often. I've got family in Duluth MN so well aware of how cold it gets out there.
  12. Crazy to read about that "killer" grid heater bolt condition that was circulating recently on the CF. Seems up there with the faulty CP4 and KDP as potential engine killers.
  13. Thanks. I was leaning to picking up a Timbo. Install will be next on my list and I’m sure a new VP is in my future.
  14. Re-visiting this as its happening a bit more frequently. Still mostly when the engine is cold and not up to full operating temp. Starting to think the hesitation/dead pedal I've been experiencing could be a failing TPS. Still not seeing any of the expected codes 121, 0122, 222 and 223 and there's no surging/ bucking. I guess the only way to properly diagnose its the TPS is to check the voltage drop while running? Anyone else have 1st hand experience with diagnosing a faulty APPS/TPS?
  15. Nice looking camper there! Here’s mine along the Yakima River in a real nice dry camp site In Ellensburg WA.
  16. @JAG1 Same here. I've parked my TC and wondering if I should winterize it or will I be using it through the Winter. My family are all avid skiers and snowboarders so when I bought it 2 years ago it was intended for camping, fishing trips and weekends parked in the ski hills RV parking lots. We'll see if we actually do take it to the mountains. Also - was thinking that someone setup a virtual meeting (Zoom) at some point and those who want to on this forum can get on and shoot the breeze about stuff. Might not get any takers. Thoughts?
  17. don't know if its fishy. i just read on the CF that there was /were issues with the hours data. Seemed like it could be suspect. Had you heard that or experienced that ? i see you have a 4th gen listed in your sig.
  18. i currently run 50s and the 3-pc manifold has less of an spool impact than the size of the turbo they're paired with. if you size your injector to the turbo coupled with the right tune a higher flowing manifold can only help performance in aggregate.
  19. Yeah the snow is also here at the higher elevations in the cascades out near me. Haven't seen this much snow this early for years. Over 3' already has fallen at Snoqualmie Pass.
  20. that i don't know. also, i thought i read there was a bug in that the hours recorded weren't accurate, would reset randomly and be generally unreliable?
  21. Kicking around a bit more seriously now on a picking up a 2018 3500 CCSB truck from a used dealer near me. Its not in the best of shape cosmetically but I think I can fix most of the problems as a trade off for a low mile truck (55K) at a semi-reasonable price (<$40K) in todays market for Cummins trucks. One owner, fleet vehicle with a clear car fax. Low end trim but its got a few nice options - tow package etc. This has been sitting on a lot and the price has been dropped a bunch. I'm not swimming in dough but I'm looking for a newer 1 ton. Anyone think this is a semi-decent deal given the market? Link to rig here --> https://www.megaautosaleswa.com/details/used-2018-ram-ram-pickup-3500/86651310
  22. You could also consider extending the site 'range' and travelling up to WA to camp near me. Too many places to count in WA that are great for camping/hiking/fishing etc... But I'd be up for a rendezvous with my Truck Camper. Just getting adjusted to it and love it.
  23. You need to clean the dust of that dash cluster Mike!
  24. Stay under 1300 for sure for any length of time. If you approach 1200/1250 back off the pedal. That's a good rule of thumb.
  25. yeah I kind of agree with the sentiments above from Me78569. I installed a 3-peice pulse flow manifold from ATS along with an upgraded ATS turbo and I haven't noticed a ton of measureable benefit. Looks nicer than stock in the engine bay and they do come with pre-tapped pyro holes which was a benefit. See link to my little upgrade here if you're interested ->
