Rand Paul Bows out of the race
Crazy Bernie could be the front runner for the "democrats" too if Hilary gets indicted. Either way we'd be toast with her or him. Once obama leaves we'll still have to deal with him, maybe at the United Nations/world level. I listen to Rush on the radio every week when I travel and I can't pick out a candidate and say, "he's the one!", after listening to the pros and cons and speculation. Any elected official will be a betrayal to the American people but we probably won't lose our shirt and hat with Cruz or Trump in office. A 1/3rd of my paycheck is going to disappear every month regardless. My barber near Springfield, MA told me the other day that the guys at Smith & Wesson love obama! They have record sales numbers thanks to him!

Higher amp alternator recomendations ?
Use the stock belt, the pulley is the same diameter as stock. I would call Nations to verify fitment. Here is another good link to read http://www.kentsoil.com/dodgebug1.htm

Shed some light for me
Sounds like JAG might be your man. I worked residential construction out of college, but I don't have the years of experience like others. Some things to consider for your deck -composite decking is 2-3 times more expensive than 5/4 pressure treated boards -stainless steel screws are best for attaching deck boards to framing, unless you want a "color match" treated deck screw -need special treated nails for PT framing -need simpson strongtie joist brackets and the special nails that go with them -16" on center joists -when in doubt use a 6x6 post instead of a 4x4 -I forget what's best, but you need flashing where you attach to the house and some materials rot while others are fine against PT wood. I forget if we used copper, lead or regular flashing but one is superior long term against the chemicals in PT wood -4' holes and sonotubes for underneath the posts, at least in New England, below the frost line. For any residential deck I've never used anything wider than a 14" wide sonotube -for decks high off the ground, instead of running the posts right into the box joist/framing, run the posts into a girder beam, then framing cantalevered over that I'm building/GCing my first house this spring, and I'll be building the decks to save money and give me and my dad a good father son project. But, I'll be subbing the house framing/shell out to a framer because it will be cheaper and faster

To whoever conceived the abomination known as Active Fuel Management....
Why would they need to redesign the assembly for firing off of 4 cylinders instead of all 8? Are the rockers and pushrods different too? I didn't grow up around small blocks so I'm at a loss for all this. Top pic as an AFM lifter for my truck and the bottom is non AFM.

To whoever conceived the abomination known as Active Fuel Management....
My 2013 silverado has it. I just put it in manual mode and shift with my thumb and AFM doesn't "activate", unless you hit 6th gear

My Next Job
Replace the front "Y" set up for the new "T" style set up with the tie rods and drag link etc? I'm waiting for someone on this forum to do it...i'm considering doing the 09' steering upgrade this spring to rid my truck of bump steer

Anyone Else on the lookout for Health Care that covers you for less than your cell phone bill?
For the county/local government? That's part of the reason the state of Connecticut is so far in debt. They take such good care of their state employees, there's no money for anything else. And contribute to their 401k and pay their pension with tax payer dollars. We need to purge the system...

exhaust woes
All aftermarket exhausts will be "bell and spigot", or have one flared end. U-bolt style clamps or strap clamps? If it's u-bolt style clamp, it's going to be a pain because they tend to crush the exhaust pipes when tightened. You might be better off cutting/splicing and getting some stainless steel strap clamps

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor
Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Signs / Symtoms Just noticed today that the oil pressure is way high while driving and not really moving even upon reaching operating coolant temperature. Driving oil pressure at low throttle is 60-70 PSI at full temperature and idling is right around 60 PSI. Here's the oil pressure gauge, full operating temperature while idling... Even before starting, the oil pressure gauge shows 40 PSI, then after start up right to the 60-70 mark and doesn't move much. I'm hoping this is just the sending unit and not a bearing or electrical problem. Just got some codes on the dash... p0523 p0522 Replacing The Oil Pressure Sensor Replaced the oil pressure sensor today and the in-dash gauge is back to normal. Idle pressure at full coolant temperature is back below 40 PSI, 0 pressure before start up, and the oil pressure needle moves in correlation with the throttle. Still have the codes but I think I read somewhere they will go away once the truck gets driven a while. Did an oil change too but the oil pressure sensor has to be the culprit, I'm pretty sure it was the factory oil pressure sensor because the VOID sticker was still on the ECM harness and it had not been touched. New oil pressure sensor was $90 from the local Cummins place, new part # 4326849. Oil pressure sensor is located under the fuel filter and ECM harness on the driver's side. Quick Write Up 1. Disconnect 2 negative battery cables. 2. Remove two 10mm bolts holding fuel filter housing to manifold cover and push housing aside. 3. Remove one 4mm allen bolt from ECM harness and pull back harness. 4. If original unit, use a 32mm double deep socket to remove oil pressure sensor (old part# 3408428). 5. Use 1-1/16 double deep socket to install new oil pressure sensor (new Cummins part# 4326849). 6. Torque manifold/fuel housing bolts to 18 ft-lbs. 3 prong New sensor is the smaller of the two...made in mexico You can see the ECM harness pulled away and the oil pressure sensor/harness below it.

Mopar vs Aftermarket Parts
Great responses! I'm not promoting a think tank or any of that such, but it's great to see the responses of experience on this forum. It gets me thinking outside my own box

Could really use some help - Engine knock
My buddy just had this happen to his early 07 commonrail. He bought a used motor and will swap it out come spring time. #6 toasted, under 200k miles. Do you have another car to make it through the winter? Used vp motors are going for $1800 around here, a lot of them under 100k miles, body rotted around them.

Mopar vs Aftermarket Parts
Ya, I'll be ordering spectra heater core and ac evap. next month....unless tbo can get me some awesome dealer pricing.

Mopar vs Aftermarket Parts
I was just pricing up parts for my dash overhaul and there is decent price difference between Mopar and aftermarket heater core and ac evaporator $36 for spectra heater core, $135 for Mopar $49 for four seasons evaporator, $330 for Mopar Mopar or nocar? I'm having a hard time justifying the over $300 price difference just for a genuine oe part. Any input?
