  1. So should I do some minor adjustments to keep the smoke down a little at low rpms? If so, how to do it?
  2. Well since most of my truck is now straight water since the issue I had this morning. I have been researching the coolant for my truck and find out it is the plain ethylene glycol (Green) antifreeze. Low silicate and meets requirements of ASTM D-3306 and ASTM D-4985. My only question is because of reading about cavitation errosion issues with diesels. Is the 98.5-02 Cummins ok with this antifreeze alone or do I need to add an SCA additive to the mix??
  3. I have the overhead console connections, but no console there when I purchased the truck. So I guess it is probably better to get the regular console and not the fancy one that will be convoluted by the aftermarket fuel system and Smarty?
  4. Exactly what I planned on doing. Even if the truck settles below 140 degrees I could do it then. 15-16psi will always show leaks
  5. No steam or antifreeze smell when driving. It has to be small whatever it is. When I throw the pressure tester on it tonight I will find out where it is coming from. I'll keep you guys informed
  6. Well the truck just hit 163K miles and I ran out of water this morning. I already knew before I popped the hood because of two things...lol 1. I slowly lost heat in the cab. 2. Truck started to overheat almost immediately after I lost all heat. This happened to me about 2 weeks ago and I didn't think anything of it at first, but from the looks of it I can't find traces of any water leaks anywhere. So I guess I will throw the coolant pressure tester on the truck and see where I spring a leak. I am thinking water pump most likely due to the nature of the beast and the search button feature lol.
  7. Unless the turbo was replaced with an HY, it should have an HX considering it is a H.O. model truck. Also as stated just recently where the boost elbow should be, there is a plug there instead and the wastegate is non functional currently.
  8. Well currently where the boost elbow is, there is a plug in there. So in theory it should make as much boost as possible.
  9. well if I go to even numbers then it will be stock timing from how the directions read. I thought there was sub settings and I never saw any? Unless I have to go back in the second time and adjust it further?
  10. Well I finally got my Smarty S03 and installed the SW:5 software and HOLY **** the throttle response and bottom end power jumped up significantly!!! Huge difference and still drives very easy if you are putting around. I do have a couple questions for anyone that are familiar with these programmers. 1. I noticed that there is lots of smoke if you stab the throttle before the turbo lights off. Is this part of the programming and is there a way tor reduce this some? I realize that it's wasted fuel and I don't need to smoke an intersection just to I can get up to speed quickly. 2. I figured with about 60hp increase on the top end of the power curve it would raise my boost up some. I only see a 2psi increase at WOT. I am at 23psi. Is this normal or should I see higher boost numbers? It is hard to tell if I gained 60hp on the top end, I can feel a little difference but not 60hp worth...
  11. I got a brand new airdog in December and I'm wondering if it will be a good while before this happens or is this something I should look into since it has been 70 + degrees here lately? Lol
  12. Does your fuel pressure gauge move any when you bump the starter? I know with my airdog 150, if I turn the key on it will prime for about a sec and the fuel pressure goes up to about 10psi and slowly drop down. The when I crank it will stay at 18psi
  13. I used the one Moparman put up as a drawing. It wasn't too hard but I didn't cut it perfectly either so I had to ream out two mounting holes about 1/16 bigger for better figment. As soon as it gets powder coated and the weather warms up I will put it on. The heat down here is ridiculous and I can't imagine what the under good temps would be like.
  14. Well I got the S03 Smarty. I can't wait to try it out. It will be nice to have less low end lag
  15. Well my Napa is screwing folks around here...
  16. Damn your Napa must be generous. Mine was right about this price when I last checked. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Air-Filter-Gold-Air-Filter/_/R-FIL6637_0006473389
  17. OH! Ok, so I am guessing the duration is the injection (fuel) duration? If so that will help me control the smoke. I want more bottom end but I do not want to waste fuel doing so and pissing off my neighbors lol. I am already thinking of redoing the straight pipe exhaust (from previous owner) and putting a resonator in. I like the sound it is just too loud at 6am lol.
  18. This unit is only a month old. The Seller says it already has the newest software on it.
  19. This is the REVO in each SW setting you can change?
  20. I just purchased one last night for a good price! I can't wait to add it to my rig. Is the Smarty 100% tune-able or is it just certain preset functions that you can choose? From the website it looks like it has 10 total settings and that's it?
  21. That is fine if there is a haze. I am not going to care about that, but I do respect others driving (Well sometimes lol) and do not need to dust out people for no reason. I could care less about the retards and "ROALIN COAL" everywhere...they need to ****** grow up. Kids i swear..
