Hello from California
the hx40 they rate at 600 hp so the drop is is a full 100 hp less. This tells me there is significantly more restriction with the drop in.

Hello from California
I didn't see that specifically on their site, good to know.

Hello from California
He did not recommend the 57 because it will not pass smog due to it not being a holset. Everyone has their opinions, that doesn't mean either choice is "wrong" the 62 modded hx will run good with the 100's and a quad the stock hx35 would also work good. The 62 gains some up top the hx gains some down low. 6 in one hand half dozen in the other. I think you will be fine with the 62, but you will be wanting those 100's to fuel it better. I am not convinced the "super 9" is a better choice than the 62 you have. the tighter exhaust housing will help spool, but you might run out of steam faster when towing up grades in the ~2500 rpm + area, Also the super 9 requires an aftermarket down pipe which again depending on the smog tech won't pass. there is no free lunch with turbos each fits a specific range of use.

Which Holset Turbo?
honestly with only 100's I would stick with an OEM hx35 and call it a day. Call DAP and ask.

Banks high flow intake elbow and OEM grid heater replacement
I wanted a replacement for the OEM bolt possibly coming off in the intake, without deleting anything so my choice was the smaller Ford / GM AIH coil element. When I say the truck started a little rough it was still WAY better starting than my old 5.9, it was just rougher than with the oem grid setup.

If you have egt issues you should taper off your wiretap some. There is no reason to have EGT issues with the quad, it just means the tune is too fuel aggressive. Glad you like your setup though. The quad just takes more time to get dialed in especially with large injectors, its not for everyone.

Market for used injectors?
Might try facebook or something. DDP's are hard to resell for anything near what you paid for them sadly.

What I seen of the edge juice competition with attitude didn't fuel to 3700 like the quad does. I am sure each truck is different.

Banks high flow intake elbow and OEM grid heater replacement
This morning the thermometer is reading -20*f. Truck fully cold sitting outside started without much hassle. Idle was a little rough for ~60 seconds then smoothed out. I feel better about the intake heater.

the comp box is a boost fooler as well. Bucking is %100 timing related. the edge adds timing on top of the stock timing command similar to how the quad is working when you set your timing to 1,2,3,4,5,6 Most report the quad fuels alittle harder than the edge.

Way less draw, which might be an ok thing. We will see how it starts when it is -40*f

Banks high flow intake elbow and OEM grid heater replacement
My main complaints are 1. the grid heater element is prob less than 1/2 the heat output compared to stock 2. the alignment of the egr cross over pipe to the EGR valve is not perfect, I did have to clamp it with the vband to get it to line up. it is extremely minor, but still bothers me. 3. the eg cross over cover is not able to be put back into place. Again minor, not that I care about the plastic cover but yea. 4. the fit and finish of some of the tapped holes was not great.

It's hard to say. It looks ok but the bolt is isolated by plastic which has a bit of wiggle to it. It wasn't hanging on my a thread but I couldn't say there was no degradation.

Banks high flow intake elbow and OEM grid heater replacement
I was able to test the intake heater down to about 0*f today. Truck is noticeably harder to start now, but not hard to start if that makes sense. Here is a picture of the OEM grids with 60k.

your cruise timing limit should be ~%5 greater than your typical load at cruise state ~60 mph. however if you are using the 1,2,3,4,5,6.5 then you need to leave all other timing settings at 0. So make sure if you are testing the cruise limit stuff it is with your older tunes.

Truck bucking
with 7 x .013's I would guess he would need %20 or %15 for the cruise timing.

Yea it very well could be. something closer to %20 might be a good setting.

Tips for seating injector for # 5&6 cylinders
Just double check for something dumb before doing it, but I am guessing a little bit of force and it will pop right in.

Banks high flow intake elbow and OEM grid heater replacement
not really the truck is peppy enough. When it is clutch time I might consider it I guess, but a lot of " if it aint broke don't fix it" on this one.

Banks high flow intake elbow and OEM grid heater replacement
The project starts as soon as I feel like braving the weather. Main point is to prevent the OEM grid heat nut from finding it's way into cylinder 6. I am not a huge Banks guy but the parts look well made and everything I need is here. Huge thanks to @dieselautopower for the parts!
