  1. Pull codes using a code scanner.
  2. as always awesome pictures. sorry to hear about you friends
  3. stayed home, lit one of our wood piles for a bonfire with some friends. took 5 gallons of red dye and 5 gallons of boy scout water due to the 3' of white stuff we have. Did make it to midnight, but not without some complaining. 4 of 6 piles burned. just the 2 big ones left and the yard / pasture will be ready for fence.
  4. Just think of all the devices and computers we have now running. How many homes have dishwashers now compared to 30 years ago? things have gotten more energy efficient, but the number of things has climbed. AC used to be a nice thing to have in the home, now it is a requirement. electric tooth brushes and electric bath tubs and electric pet blankets. The list of things is endless. as the world moves into greater prosperity we have many times more electrical devices. This is not an argument for picking a fight with fossil fuels, we simply use more power at peak than the grid can handle in a lot of places. Doesn't only matter where the power is coming from it matters about all the things in between too. We need wind, solar, hydro, nuclear, coal, natural gas all together to supply the needs of the country. each region needs to be able to draw in times of need from other regions without rolling blackouts etc.
  5. there will be solutions to this just like there was a solution to people syphoning gas tanks. We REALLY need to fix our grid, i don't care how we do it or what it takes it needs to be done. We are already over taxing out grid without EV. Not fixing our grid is not a solution. the world we live in requires vastly more power than the world 20-30 years ago. There is no way around that.
  6. Toyota is the only OEM looking at hydrogen for passenger duty. The rest are moving electric. I don't see anything preventing the adoption of electric over the next 10 years for passenger duty vehicles. The money is flowing to ev by the manufacturers. I could be wrong though.
  7. You are stepping through testing other things that could be bad. if everything else tests bad then the only thing left is the ecm. Since there is no direct way to test the ecm you need to rule out other things.
  8. Merry Christmas.
  9. nope too busy trying to not run into the ditch. visibility was maybe 10 feet.
  10. made it 2 hours , half way, to the airport and had to turn around due to white out. got the notification shortly after that the flight was cancelled.
  11. Sounds like a dns issue not refreshing on your wifi. A dns refresh would be my first step.
  12. run of the mill 50-50 and block off the radiator. Never had an issue.
  13. A free standing stove is my vote. I don't like the insert stoves as they prevent natural airflow to draw heat into the room. It's either that or a true high efficiency wood fireplace insert with big glass doors
  14. Yep, that's the plan for the summer. Gonna just burn cords and cords of wood this winter. Trying to decide between a stove or a fireplace insert. The stove is cheaper and more efficient, but the wife really likes the fireplace look. comes down to happier wife vs cost and efficiency. Short list is the Drolet Escape 1800 or a 36 ELITE from fireplacex Dunno. the added cost of the full fireplace doesn't seem worth it to me, but wife.
  15. when you followed the article directions where did it fail? It is either the vp, ecm, or the wiring between the two
  16. we do that all the time, but fargo is a bit longer of a ride
  17. We are supposed to be flying out friday morning might not be able to make it to the airport.
  18. have you followed this? have you uninstall the edge?
  19. its a open fireplace, I am planning a wood stove in the spring.
  20. all Aspen and ash here, a cord of oak is about 3x what softwood is. I am burning about 1/4 cord a week currently
  21. the factory head seal is the best seal you can get. I would never pull the head unless you have a issue. if money was burning a hole in your pocket I wouldn't say you shouldn't put studs in for peace of mind over the next 150,000 miles, but let me be clear if your gasket is still making a good seal your upgrade path does not require studs by any stretch.
  22. not that the adrenaline was made for 150's but rather I think the 2nd gen cummins should have shipped from the factory with 150's and a proper tune. There is nothing wrong with 100's and 100's will run cleaner with less work on the tune, but 150s are, again in my opinion, the sweet spot for a 2nd gen. I would still prefer the stock hx35 to a 62 modded hx35 with your overall goals, but again I think the 62 will also meet your goals. There really isn't a right answer here, rather preference. I might talk to @dieselautopower about the modded 62 vs the stock hx. there may have been a misunderstanding. DAP has a lot of experience with different setups and I trust them to not mislead you.
  23. They prob have permission to post a garage item so they do, not knowing the rest of the forum is pay to post.
