Late July Jive...
Been working on that 1 chainsaw tank at a time. Almost done with the stack I have. I think I need a few more trees.

Surging When Cold
yes they could. loping and smoke point to a pop pressure that is failing below the typical levels.

iQuad display stray numbers
I'd ask them looks like a scaling issue in the app

Proper Final Ratio
tone it down to like 110 at 0 psi then work up by 1% until 4 psi then go by 2% then bump that up to %5 at 10-15 psi. throw as much fuel at WOT as you can at it without smoke then use your right foot to drive nice and get good mpg. then repeat the process if no smoke at snap wot take off then bump fuel by %2 across the board until happy. for timing you def want to retard the timing when under load.

Proper Final Ratio
with rv275's I don't know that 115 is too much offidle. its a % of stock table and your right foot still controls the scale from idle to WOT at a given psi. My go to method for find the 0 psi setting is setting it to a given % then going snap from idle to WOT from a stop does it light grey haze at 0 psi? black? no smoke? black means take it down a few % no smoke bump it up. light grey is perfect.

Quad Turbo Timer
my truck would not idle at 300*f regardless of how long it sat there. 350* was about as low as it could go.

Quad Turbo Timer
There are 1000's and 1000's of %100 stock 2nd gens with no turbo timer, egt guage, or fuel pressure gauge that run fine and have no issue or no more issues than would be expected on a 25 year old truck. The diesel community likes to mod things because that's what we do Nothing wrong with the community having gauges and modding, but we are the minority. Point is worrying about 300*f shutdown temp vs 450*f shutdown temp likely doesn't matter, we just like to nit pick because that's who we are. I bet the body would fall off the truck before the shutdown temp would make a difference. Again nothing wrong with preferring something or whatever, but modders tend to make a bigger deal out of stuff than need be.

Quad Turbo Timer
remember that stock did not have a turbo timer, if it was a huge issue there would be something to prevent shutdown. as long as you aren't towing a load, pulling into a gas station and keying off as you come to a rolling stop I doubt it will be an issue. 390* vs 350* isn't going to matter. However for situations where I did not have to turn off the truck, gas station, I often just set the turbo timer to lower than my idle temp and let it run without a key. lock up the truck and go do my thing. assuming I wasn't going to be letting it idle for 10 minutes or whatever

Quad Turbo Timer
I think I had it set to 375 or something. That was enough to let it cool down without it idling for 20 minutes in the summer. A timer would be fine too.

Mopar1973Man's Quadzilla Custom Tuning Guide
@Mopar1973Man Quick note on these 2 The low boost scale is what PSI to wiretap map starts and then the boost scaling is how many PSI to compress the map into, not where wiretap hits max. Low boost scaling + boost scaling gives you the PSI where you want %100 wiretap Examples, 1. if low boost scaling is set at 5 psi and boost scaling is set at 40psi then you would start wiretap fueling at 5 psi and hit max wiretap at 45 psi, 2. if low boost scaling is set at 5 psi, but boost scaling is set to 30 psi then you would start wiretap fueling at 5 psi but you would hit max wiretap at 35 psi. 3. if low boost scaling is set at 10 psi but boost scaling is set at 40 psi then start for wiretap would be 10 psi and %100 wiretap would be 50 psi. so low boost scaling is where wiretap kicks in and boost scaling is how big the map is.

Dyna beads
they worked well for me as well

run 7 x .010's without wiretap. the 7 x .009's just aren't big enough in my opinion.- Looming Economic Crash
This has been coming for awhile now, its just impossible to time the market. ~5 years ago the housing market started to go parabolic which is not a good thing and everything else started to follow. Things were getting out of control and no one every addressed the issue. Gov spending has been out of control on both sides of the isle for a very long time and now it is time to pay the piper. Time to come back to earth. Stay employed, find happiness locally / help the community, and ignore the negativity as it will drag you down until you are angry and helpless. Times might get tough, but things are still much better than 100 years ago- Cam worth the money?
If you have the $$ to blow then sure if you are already in there. However the stock one isn't terrible.- Quadzilla issues
There are 3 different map sensors between 98.5 and 2002. Your ecm is expecting one and you have the other. Could be the sensor or the wiring or both is mismatched. The quad won't work well without a map reading.- Quadzilla issues
Your issue is in the map sensor not matching the expected style when you have 13 psi as the min.- Quadzilla issues
are you free reving when the smoke and sputter happens? if so, don't free rev. if you are not getting boost readings on the quad then that is a big issue. it could be the box or your oem wiring.- Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
my guess is this truck used to have a high rpm life and the PO didn't replace the pushrods with HD ones. I think prolonged high rpms beat them up good.- Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
I would also change your oil and filter. that galling on the rockers hurts to look at. I am assuming it has been like that for awhile, but better safe and sorry. I would inspect the oil feed to the rockers and make sure you are getting good flow as well. again I am assuming this has been hurt for awhile, but there appears to be oil starvation issues that caused that at some point.- Turbo/Injector balance for towing/EGT control
I think it is unrealistic to not gear down loaded down that much going over a pass. RPM's keep egt's down when towing. the 5.9 makes peak torque above 1800 rpm up to ~2200-2400 rpm. anything below that is going to generate EGT's as the engine is just not designed to work down there.- Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
I'd replace them both honestly. I dont like the thought of metal shavings in the oil system. The pushrods are not allowing the valves to open fully either.- Turbo/Injector balance for towing/EGT control
One thing at a time, but I'd expect to replace the injectors- Turbo/Injector balance for towing/EGT control
Vp trucks shoulda shipped with 7 x .010's from the factory. I prefer more injector + less aggressive tuning. Gives you the same power with less heat and better mpg in my experience. However nothing from with 7 x .009's too. The ats 3000 can handle either.- Turbo/Injector balance for towing/EGT control
I would wager dinner and beer that some DAP 7 x.010's would run cleaner and cooler while putting down more power than your current 50's After trying to tune a ton of trucks with DDP's I have pretty much thrown in the towel on them. - Turbo/Injector balance for towing/EGT control
