Turbo/Injector balance for towing/EGT control
if you have an ats 3000 I would put that on there and see how it goes with the injectors you have.. I have never been a fan of modded hx35's as I think you are better off using a newer platform turbo. I also really do not like DDP, they are hot smokey and expensive compared to everything else out there. Guessing your main issue if the DDP injectors.

New Turbo
If I was gonna do it all over again I would get that 57 gxe. It would spool like crazy

been busy, again looking at your logs the hottest temp I see is 1150*f, which is not hot. stock trucks run above 1300 all the time. your cruise egt's at 65 in the log are sitting at 650-700, which again is not that hot for cruise with the turbo you have. I see you come out of cruise, egt's come up to 900* 1000* and taper off. That is normal. I don't think anything is wrong. I think the turbo is just not the right turbo for what you want, but nothing is actually wrong.

Your truck has a slower spooling turbo and will take longer to get on boost and drop egts. Your prior data logs never topped 1300*,. I don't think you have any issue. I am happy to look over other logs. You can't compare a 7 x .010 truck to a 6 x .013 truck. Different beasts.

750 at 70 mph doesn't sound broken to me.

ABS and Brake light issue
also make sure you check the junction plug behind the drivers front wheel well cover. It can get covered in road debris and lead to a bad connection of all wiring going to the back of the truck. Since the speedo runs through that junction you might find poor continuity as a result.

I'd run the same tune and make minor adjustments to the fuel curve if needed. 7 x.011's and 6 x .013 are reasonably close to only need minor adjustments

I think you are chasing nothing. Vp trucks clack and rattle good at 1500-2000 with high timing.

Does the VP44 completely shut off fueling when truck is coasting in gear on a downgrade (manual transmission)?
canbus is the fueling command, period, If you see a reported canbus value of 3 then that means the vp44 is asking for ~.1 % of possible fueling duration. so yes it is fueling when canbus is 3, but fueling so little it is likely not enough to effect anything.

load is based on canbus it's simply a 0-100% of 0-4096 fueling command. so 3 or 13 canbus command = %0 load still %1 would be > 40

if you want to drive 75 then 3.55's are needed and mpg is not gonna be great. the turbo is really a hit at 2k turbo so if that is not what you are after i would be talking to @dieselautopower about a better turbo that can be paired with a s475 down the road in a twin setup. I would think a 62 sxe would be a night and day difference, I am not sure how well the 57 gxe's wastegate works and if you could do a 57 with a a s472 or something, that would spool like crazy. but sizing turbos is not my arena. how was it with the more aggressive fueling curve?

so 6 x .013's flow a ton of fuel, more than a vp can. so goals and a desired hp level would be good. twins would by my suggestion for a towing 600 hp setup, however you 64 is not really geared to that. a play truck with 6 x .013's can still work, but that 64 is a 2k spooling turbo on a 4.10 manual truck. it's not a 1400-1500 spooling turbo. what speed do you want to cruise at?

The way it works is from idle state aka tps = 0 to 1200 rpm there is a handoff happening that is more complex than a switch on or off. how it works If you apply the throttle beyond %2 then the quad takes over control if rpms are greater than 1000 . from that point the quad is told to fuel, until either rpms fall below 600 or tps goes back to 0. and the limit for the quad is turned back to 1000 rpm for the fueling take over. If speed is greater than 30 mph and rpms are greater than 1200 then the quadzilla is in control regardless of tps, I dont remember why this is the case, but it was required during testing the issue with manual trucks having bucking at extremely low RPMS I believe is a function of the ecm sending high priority messages for anti stall functions when it thinks the engine is at rise of stalling. Remember that there are 1 forms of communication between the ecm and vp44, 1 is standard priority commands 2. high priority commands. Tuners use method 2, but the ecm only uses #2 method sometimes to prevent what it see's as issues. If the ecm thinks there is an issue, such as stalling it will send a high priority command which will conflict with the tuners fueling ressulting in odd behavior. Same is true for fueling beyond ~3750 rpm. The ecm see's that as a runaway condition and effectively sends high priority commands of 0 for a fueling command then locks the outputs from the ecm on the j1939 bus if the vp does stop fueling. This is why we had issues with the quad freezing when we tried to hold canbus fueling beyond 3800 rpm.

try this fueling curve to help get that turbo lit faster. 0: 90 1: 90 2: 92 3: 94 4: 96 5: 99 6: 103 7: 106 8: 110 9: 114 10: 118 11: 122 12: 126 13: 130 14: 134 15: 138 16: 142 17: 146 18: 150 18+:150

what is the truck used for? What are the overall goals for the truck? It seems like the truck used to be something other than what it is now.

the 64 is not suited to a compound turbo setup. egts with a trailer might honestly be fine, a little extra load on the motor will help spool and get boost up. Again your EGT's are not really hot. A WOT pull that tops out at 1220*f with 6 x .013's is pretty dang good. if you wanted to talk turbos then I would be looking at a 62 or 63 sxe with a better exhaust housing to get on boost faster. Since you are a manual with 4.10's there isn't a lot of time to get on top of the turbo until higher gears.

he might also not be sending enough fuel into the engine. both timing and fuel are important.
-
Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
I think you need more tuning fuel to get the turbo moving or a smaller turbine. your EGT's aren't really that hot at all hottest i see in 1220* which is less than a stock truck, but your boost is low for the RPM. what starting % for 0 psi can you use and still not smoke bad when going WOT from a stop?

Towing, Turbos, and Quads
It's not the wrong turbo, it will work really good but the 57 gxe is a better turbo for a 350-400 hp tow monster. 7 x .010's are the right choice, I'd throw the 62 on it too just because of the good deal. IT will tow great.
-
Towing, Turbos, and Quads
mpg is a result of timing so all levels 2+ should be the same assuming the same driving style is used. 19 mpg at 75 is about as good as you can ask for.
-
Towing, Turbos, and Quads
you will have a very solid 350-400hp towing setup if you use the quad to tune your canbus lvl 3 tuning and don't use wiretap levels. Thats a good way to go about it, the sxe is a good turbo. If I was buying new I would go with the 57 gxe rather than the 62 sxe, but a good deal on the 62 should be fine. if you want to have fun you can always turn on wiretap and have 500 hp. however your trans won't hold 500 hp.

1100* when putting the pedal down a bit is normal. Heat is what gets the turbo moving.
-
Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
there are 2 ways to tune a quad, 1. good enough tuning 2. ocd tuning because you got nothing better to do. with #1 you just set your starting % where you want it to prevent smoke then you run the generic timing settings that the default tune runs. #2 you do #1 but then you adjust 1 setting at a time with timing to try and change how the truck drives for better or worse, you data log review then adjust as needed and move onto the next. I like your tune with the timing changes I made. i would just drive it for a bit and make notes for things you want to change about it. smoke vs power, spool vs mpg etc etc
-
Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
I'd run the old tune for a bit and use the timing settings I sent. That tune should rip good. Work on the tune now that we have a good baseline.

If it was me I would disconnect the wastegate rod, wire it shut and then see how it goes.
