Thinking about getting a 3rd gen.
I keep standing on the same soapbox, I think it's nutso to pay high dollar for such high mileage. the used market is crazy right now. by 194k miles there is so much that needed to be replaced and even if it was replaced, what was it replaced with? was it done correct? I don't care how good the engine is it is still wrapped around things that wear out. Plastic on the dash, hinges in the glove box, seat wear, wiring in the engine bay being heat cycled, bushings, etc etc etc. these are all things that have nothing to do with a reliable engine, but do have a lot to do with the how the truck moves down the road. approaching 50k on my 2018 and so far so good, not 1 issue so far. emissions have gotten a lot better, Def is cheap compared to other things we spend on the trucks. I think I have put ~30 gallons of def in so far. This isn't to say everyone should go new, but I think signficant thought should go into our preconceived notion of "new is bad because x,y,z"

i am shocked he can still be in business. sorry- Turbo Help
The Json reference file needs to be updated on the iquad app download. This would require a new update file to work. not a huge deal from what I remember techinically speaking. Customer support wise though it is a pretty big change.- *Do Not Buy from CPP Diesel*
CPP has screwed over SOOOO many people. Hopefully you used a Credit Card. if so call your CC company and have them figure it out, they will do what needs to be done.- Turbo Help
Not my arena anymore. I don't have insight into that stuff. I would ask @Quadzilla Power and @dieselautopower to consider adding info buttons to each item.- Help, looking for comparable trucks for sale… insurance co is not even close
what I see out there says a clapped out vp44 truck is worth ~4-5k the average high mileage truck is worth 10-12k and the low mile perfect condition truck is worth ~15k. Honestly don't think the insurance company is far off on price.- Need help with tune or injectors
Test for boost leaks before getting too far into injectors. always start at step 1 when troubleshooting.- 330IT Mom wagon project
Made some progress and ordered some parts. I can get it back on the road for ~500 and looking back to normal for ~1000. Got everything broken pulled off and banged out the mounting and wheel well.- 330IT Mom wagon project
Slammed a deer tonight. Needs a new hood, fender, radiator support, radiator, headlight, airbox. Mulling over next moves.- Need help with tune or injectors
Assuming you have done a boost leak test, I'd have DAP look at your injectors 50's shouldn't smoke starting at 100%- Looking for max low rpm torque and good idle injector - Mach 4 FDI vs DDP vs. Infinite?
7 x .010's are best for %95 of the vp44 trucks on the road. It will be fine with the 57 provided you tune it some.- Looking for max low rpm torque and good idle injector - Mach 4 FDI vs DDP vs. Infinite?
infinite performance builds the best money can buy. Call him- 1999 dodge 24 valve automatic won’t go in in 4 low
I had a similar issue, the ball and spring on the rooster comb was tangled up. you can see the issue in the Transfer case rebuild article. you can see me holding the spring after removal with plyers.- P0216 error
- Daily tune help
Your truck will run much better without the ddps regardless of gears. Plenty of 3.55's running around with 35's. No it's not optimum, but it also isn't the end of the world.- Daily tune help
Personally I would just go stock pop.- VP44 Injection Pump Teardown - How it Works
the issue with rotary pumps is physics say that the faster you spin it the harder it is to push the fluid to the center. Rotary plunger pumps lose their ablity to pump at high RPMS. yes the ecm freaks out above 3500 rpm, but that is not the whole story either. How much would it help to truly raise the rev limiter in the ECM to 5k? I dunno, but the pump does start get inefficent at high RPMS.- Daily tune help
7 x 010's are the right choice for a DD vp44 truck that gets used as a truck.for %95 of the people out there. 7 x .009's are too small- Daily tune help
That should be the DDP slogan.- Daily tune help
only thing you can do other than swap injectors to something other than DDP is add a few * of timing at cruise state. 1500 rpm do 15* and 2000 do 19. your issue is your injectors + gears + tire size though. - *Do Not Buy from CPP Diesel*
