Methanol Injection Setup
Pretty good. Overall I like it for the money I have in it -> I just need to get some better/accurate numbers on what its giving me. For $500 i'd say hmm .......... but for $250 I spent 2nd hand I like the modification. Getting the right amount of spray at right time is hardest thing (tuning) .......... I would go with Devils Own over snow ...... but I think the company sucks "$#^^' ......... will post more numbers when I have them ...... *guesstimating 100-150 drop EGT *guesstimating 40 horse+ at full spray

yeah whats with that ??? Next door to texas and more expensive than central MO ??- Methanol Injection Setup
wow - that think would move ......... guess youd need headstuds as well at a minimum- Methanol Injection Setup
yeah thats exactly where I am thinking ...... came in that way you got your injectors and HX35 yet ? hahhaa- HY35 to HX35 swap
3" ...... same as the HX35 That and the 5 bolt flange is what makes them interchangeable I believe Once you go HX40 or higher ..... you need a 4" downpipe/adapter- Methanol Injection Setup
Update.Had some trouble adjusting the flow ...... tended to overfuel at certain points. Think I am getting closer to a good spray now. Had to play with the settings a bit."Guessing" around 150 drop in EGT and +40-+50 HP when in full spray. So all n all its not been too bad ......... I need to setup a better test (like a big hill) to determine EGT's a bit more accurately.- Looking for turbo idea's
where's your EGT probe tapped ??- Bought this
fo the price I think you got it I think it will help your tranny last Especialyl since you probably don't treat it like mine Nice 1- Looking for turbo idea's
Towing with the stage 3 injectors + HX35 and only seeing 1000 ?? What size load ?- Plumbing the BHAF
Thats actually a good idea. I have had my BHAF just sitting on heavy cardboard for the last 10 mths - been meaning to fix it with something a bit more resistant - but no problems so far- HY35 to HX35 swap
No thats cool man - I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I did research this before I bought - but obviously never having done it myself I still wasn't 100% sure. The one I bought was $350 remanufactured (cummins). So basically new. That makes sense why your downpipe connection is bigger behind the exhaust flange flange with the bigger turbo - as anything above the hybrid does require a new downpipe or adapter. I'll have to get some photo's and add to this writeup - so like you said - less confusion for others thx man- Question about BHAF?
Yeah but thats the part thats confusing me/richie. I think the elbow from my HY35 is the same as that elbow on the HX. So when you go from a HY35-> Hx35 ..... you should be able to use the exiting 5 bolt elbow from the HY35. Emailed jim (sasqauch) to confirm ......- Question about BHAF?
Hmm - I don't think so - I think the HY in this case is just missing the elbow ....... so the elbow would come off the HX and port directly onto the HX. (and vice versa). I need to get jim here to confirm.- HY35 to HX35 swap
The elbow circumfrence on my HY is 9.25". Thats a diameter of 3". Whats yours ?- 930k mile service
Hey catIf you get to 995k and it dies -> I'll be one happy to come and push it the remaining 5k *Joke* -> hope you make 1.5million + How often you change your diff fluids out ??? Curious Keep on rolling- HY35 to HX35 swap
Lost me again fella .......... its basically the same as what I just bought - but already clocked Did you see my question above ? What do you mean regarding the elbow ? Aren't the elbows basically the same also between HY35 and H35 (and thats why they are interchangeable) ?? thx man How am I not dealing with them ?? HX should drop 100-200 Water Injection should drop another 100-200 Whats the alternative - buy a Super B (or bigger) for $1200 ??- HY35 to HX35 swap
Hey Richie. No thats ok - I just wasn't sure if I was following what you were saying - as it wasn't what I understood - but having never touched a turbo before - couldn't be 100%. So what do you mean regarding the elbow ? Aren't the elbows basically the same also between HY35 and H35 (and thats why they are interchangeable) ?? The only real difference should be the exhaust side housing right ?? And thats what gives the EGT gain ........ allowing exhaust gasses to escape quicker with less backlash ?? --- Update to the previous post... White As I understand it they are interchangeable - see what Mike and Richie come back with on my last post. The only difference is the 12cm exhaust housing over the 9cm for HY. So only difference should be 1) Slightly more lag at bottom end .....slower spool up ........ but most people say not really noticeable. 2) Lower EGT's -> from 100-200* based on what some guys have told me. Thats all. The confusion with this particular turbo was it was from a FEDEX truck. So it was coupled differently. I *think* mike is saying the flange on back/exhaust of it is also slightly different from normal HX35 like his - but will still work. But sounds like once I clock the turbo around to normal 5.9 cummins config it should port directly in ..... just gotta check on the elbow thing richie mentioned I have a guy selling that 'used' HX for $250 shipped - pm me if your interested and I will pass on the details. I would have bought that except I found this NEW remanufactured one for $350 - and for the extra $100 seemed worth to get new build (they go for $1100 from cummins) but its still just a HX35W. Lets see what mike/richie say ......... (I am only doing this for EGT white I bought for $350 and if no mods - I can sell my HY for $175 and the swap is only $175. Only $75 if I bought the $250 one. If you want more spoolup and handle bigger sticks/power - a Super B/s300 is probably the way to go ....... but its like $1200-$1500 - but man it kicks you hard in the top end with 100HP sticks). Oh - and thinks Jim for some of the info/confirmation offline - helped- HY35 to HX35 swap
Well I bought it so we will find out thx man- HY35 to HX35 swap
Dunno - kinda lost me. I understand thats required for anything above a hx35/hx40 - but everything I've read says a HX35 and hx35/40 is pretty much a direct port. I messaged a few turbo guys and dealers on CF and they confirmed this. So The 2 issues I see with this turbo are 1) Has no rear elbow from back of exhaust housing to mate to the downpipe - looks like my existing one of HY should work ..... but hard to tell exactly 2) The compression outlet (and oil outlet) is pointing teh wrong way ..... appraently this can be rotated with no big drama - was just done this way for the fedex/buses they were on ..... LIke I said - not 100% sure - but thats what a few guys have told me- HY35 to HX35 swap
Lost me..... I don't get where the downpipe hooks into the back of exhaust turbine housing (back of turbo to exhaust) Heres a "comlete" one ..... So the part betwen the downpipe and the exhaust backing of the turbo is on this one - right ...... So you think my existing one will work ......... with the HY .......... and how does it attach the back of the turbo in the pics above ???- HY35 to HX35 swap
