I have K&N
I'd say stick with the K&N. Not that its better - just I don't think you will notice until you get 500 HP etc. However - you could probably sell your K&N used ...... and have the funds for a NEW BHAF ...... and less cleaning

6.7 2007 chugging/missing
Sorry guysWell ...... appears I didnt get the whole storyBit confused me was he said it only had issues on levels -14 but not 5-7 or whateverSo since then he has taken to mechanic - who thinks it is the chip. Happens on all levels ...... and I do believe throws an injection code with teh chip on. But no code with it off running normal.Sorry fella's ........ was trying to help him out ...... but guess it helps to have all the info.

My new iquad
well it "lets" you ........... The recommendation seems to be in the line of 7.5-10 ...... to ensure no headgaskett issues ....... Whats the theoretical max timing you can go over stock ...... I thought it was like in the 20's ???

pulling with an built auto
Not sure if you mean pulling (sleds) or pulling trailers. I know guys who pull 18000 lbs of equipment ..... so thats like 26000-28000 lbs and no issues. Most have some degree of built tranny ...... but few have full build. Not sure what a full build could handle .............. but with a good build, including billet flexplate and shafts and internals .... and right line pressure and cooling ........ 30000 seems quite reasonable ?

My new iquad
Update Generally been pretty happy with the IQUAD. There are a few funny things from time to time ....... like you add custom tuning and the turbo cooldown stops working - no idea. Found out you can just switch between EGT and TIME and it resets and works ok. The display is still worst point - its AWESOME at night ...... but under bright light ...... average. The outer dials are still a little small ...... and QUAD says no plans to do anything here - why can't they just addd a function that increases text size ?? The EGT/boost backdown is neat .... very responsive and smooth ...... drops you from like Level 12 to Level 6 and inbetween to help you not go over limit. Some of the best bits I haven't played with much - and thats the customisation you don't get with EDGE. Specifically [*]Pump/Injector fuel stretch [*]Timing (from 0 to 15o over stock) [*]TPS begin/max fueling [*]Booost Scaling All affect fuel delivery and timing - for power or for MPG.

HX35 turbine wheel
Just for rebuilding a HX35 (new seals/journal bearings etc)In my case - I have access to a damaged HX35. So was wondering cost to source the shaft/exhaust turbine and refresh and balance

MPG Questions
No - leave it alone. Serious. Lots of reasons. I have one. I see only two reasons 1) Heavy towing on non stock truck 2) High Performance (Dyno, High HP etc) --- Update to the previous post... No kidding - this make the most sense. The problem is its hard to compare. Mikes truck is different to mine is different to ISX. Mikes driving (hills) is different to mine (hills/city) is different to ISX (flat). So unless we swap trucks ....... then ?? But with regards to your truck - if its truly 25 ..... then - don't touch it with a thing Thats what we all "aspire" to

HX35 turbine wheel
Yeah from what I am reading the individual parts are balanced but no way to ensure balanced when put back together as a component. Its a risk with something that spins 150000 rps :P But having said that - a lot of guys seem to have not too much drama with a variety of turbos' not doing the component balancing .. so I need to check prices locally ...... have heard from $25-$100 for balancing alone. :P
-
HX35 turbine wheel
Leads me to another question When you replace this ....... don't you need to have the entire cartridge assembly balanced ?? http://www.usedturbos.net/Catalog/Turbo-Rebuild/Turbo-Balancing-Service.html

MPG fooler - Design phase
Grid Heaters ??? What are they ?? I live in AZ not MO now ......... remember Yeah it was ISX that told me about the resistor thing a while back (don't want people thinking I am clever) ...... main reason I want to check it out is to see if it helps with my stalling issue ..... I have a feeling it will due to the fueling at certain temps ....... (help not FIX) So ..... until you guys get a design done that you are going to sell (which I think would be a good idea) ....... couple questions 1) ISX what was the resistor type I needed to get ....... what OHM or whatever and what IAT should that keep the truck at (just 1 level permanent for now would be fine). 2) I am *guessing* this will work better for guys in cold climates. My IAT's get up to 110 not too long ...... what are you guys running generally ??? Once you get up to say 110 - having the resistor is not really providing any benefit right ??
-
MPG fooler - Design phase
WTF ? Where's mine ? Well no Xmas cards for him in 2011 ... Haha Can we just add a resistor permanently to the IAT sensor harness to keep at a steady temp all the time ? Will that work ?

6.7 2007 chugging/missing
I think he said something about still problems in stock - but in stock it thinks the DPF etc all installed still ....... not sure - will ask. But why would all be ok on levels 5-7 ............... not 1-4

6.7 2007 chugging/missing
Hey gangGot a guy here with an 07. He was asking me if I had ideas on his issue - details belowRuns a straight back exhaust - no DPF/muffler etcRuns a Edge Comp Race ...... on levels 1-4 whilst towing .... truck "chuggs/misses like its running lean" - his words. On Levels 5-7 its fine.Happens in OD or without OD and he doesn't think its EGT/Boost defuel (my first thought).Edge say its not the chip ......... My question is why OK on levels over 4 (like 5-7).Lets here some ideas - will pass them on - thx for help

Injectors 75 hp
Hey Basically 3 choices as I see it * rv275's (+40hp over stock) - around $300 from jacob at dieselautopower * +75 injectors around $400 from CumminsPerformanceParts (CPP) - Jamie * +50-75 DDP injectors $600 from DDP - haha ....... just good injectors Obviously there are 100's more ......... but these give you a good range and probably best bang for buck $$ I run the middle ones. I had the 1st ones. I liked them both. --- Update to the previous post... oh ..... and couldn't tell by your SIG .... do you have a chip/tuner ??? If NOT - forget the injectors ....... get a COMP/JUICE/QUAD - kill 4 birds with 1 stone For same price.

3,000 or 7,500
So 80k miles and all tested ok-e-dok-e ?? wow Even though lubricity was good/tested fine - any danger with the contaminants at that mileage - guessing NOT if it passed ?? And this was 80k miles without a canister oil filter change also ?? thats pretty amazing stuff - 5-6 oil changes in LIFE of a truck I could afford 5x$30 =$150 for maintenance !!! Everybody say woowoo
