Looking for turbo idea's
Guess the question is - what didn't you like ?? I would have expected the turbo to be not much different from your orignal HY35 ........ just possibly 'slightly' slower spool up at low end ......... I think the compressor is basically the same ......... and then just reduced EGT and less of a choke at high end ? Apart from that - not much diff performance wise

Looking for turbo idea's
Really goes with price. ~350 HP and $400 http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/35-fslash-40%20turbo%20budget.htm in between 350-550 and $700-$1300 http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/s300g%2012m.htm http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/bd%20supe%20b%2094-02%20singl%201045220.htm 500-600 $1200 - $ouch http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/bd%20superb%20special%201045120-fslash-21.htm or twins basically how big compressor and how much flow (and spool up) someone else give you better idea from real world experience though since I am only 320HP:rolleyes:

body work and paint
Awesome stuff. How did you get the truck paint matched in a spray can ? I've only seen in touch up pens. That was my biggest issue - no just looks like a "covered" scratch !!! hahah :banghead: ok - just reading on duplicolor - man - where were you 2 months ago ! mwaaa .... its everywhere ............ why didn't I know about this NICE JOB !! Looks heaps better !

body work and paint
Hey man - thanks. REALLY interested in this. HAving a hard time following the before and afters as there are a few scratches/dings here. Can you post 1before and 1after sepecifically the scratch behind the rear wheel well ??? And what did you do. ? I sanded my scratch back with down to 3000 grit. Back to primer basically. Then polished and cut it with waxer. Then I got the paint pen from dodge that was meant to match and brushed it on. end result -> rubbish !! :banghead: only 5% better than the scratch before

Question about BHAF?
What do you mean by increase ? Power ? I don't think any air intake will boost your performance to a point your like ' wow' ....... that will basically come from fuel ............ the air/turbo/exhaust etc allow you to push more fuel yeah :banghead: frigging hy35 ........... why why why .......... get a 4" straight exhaust with good resonator
-
Very weird problem
Haven';t heard of that one. Have heard of "noise" comming from the alternator impacting shift points and tranny - so tape there. I'm kinda confused where your at ? So you replaced MAP as well as edge harness and you now get no boost codes ..... but you still get a large dump of smoke and hesitation at around 40 mph ??
-
you like it??
that sucks ....... was gonna ask you if you could do "best mates rates " and send me one for $30 yeah - nice ......... I like how they are ported already ........... the elbow/horns look nice too for $140+ or whatever .....

Question about BHAF?
I never saw any "gains" that were measurable. I did "feel" like the system breathed easier and spooled better I also heard discussions on other forums where there was a lot of debate about whether there is an actual increase in air flow due to the increased volume and surface area. It got pretty heated and never saw a winner there :P So hard to say unless someone has a better doc/link with info on actual gains. I think most of us who run them feel they are better than stock - but hard to prove apart from what you notice. Apart from performance - I like the looks of them (THEY are big) ..... and I like the outerwears - gives them a nice look also and keeps the filter clean and washable

Boost Elbow
Sorry - didn't see your a manual. Still - the thing is you don't have to run on 5x5. And as long as you don't mash the peddle to floor - the advanced timing/fuel control at that level for trips (hauling/interstate) will net you extra mpg over the hypertech and pay for itself pretty quick. Just sell the hyper on cumminsforum and buy a secondhand edge comp for like $300. Just make sure you have EGT and tranny temp gauge. Else - buy the juice for $350-$400 and it comes with all the guages and probes you need saving you again $$ The COMP/juice will net you more BOOST + more POWER + more MPG than the RV275's - and do it all in one hit. I like the RV275's - but the power is not hugely noticeable - maybe 30HP - thats hard to feel, the mileage varies on trucks - 0.5+mpg for me and 2.5+mpg mike ........ and the RV275's don''t do everything else - do you already have guages ?? anyway - hope that makes sense - protecting the drivetrain is always my big concern also now ...... but would think as long as you drive her like a diesel (which I am guilty of not doing) you should be fine, pick up extra power/features/monitoring + fuel savings best of luck john --- Update to the previous post... OH - GET READY FOR A PIC OF MIKE AND 3 CORDS OF WOOD GOING UPHILL !!!

Boost Elbow
I had one of those - it was better than I thought - but seriously - sell it and upgrade to a edge comp - even second hand for like $300. You don't have to TAP the vp44 if you don't want to - it just has so much more and gives you awesome power if you do wanna tap the pump. It also has boost foolling. If you go light on the peddle to keep your tranny+TC ok - you will even pick up 2+mpg.

Boost Elbow
You mean this ? http://www.kermatdi.com/servlet/-strse-176/Dawes-Device--dsh-The-Basic/Detail Its expensive and you still need boost fooling (chip) to not throw codes. Go with a vendor from here like http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/boostelbow.htm Hard to beat that price. If you want to make your own ..... from CF - probably $4-$6 "1/8" 90 and I drilled and tapped it and then put a allen set screw in it. If I needed more boost I would just crank it down some till it restricted the air flow to the WG. When I drilled mine I drilled straight in from the right angle so the allen would close off the incoming flow. My allen stuck out of the 90 about 1/4" when all the way in. I used blue locktite to hold it in place "

$19 http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/boostelbow.htm $25 shipped http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/edge/boost-elbow.htm or make your own (there's threads on it somewhere in googleland)

Methanol Injection Setup
Well got the 7gallon tank built with 1/4 OD quick connect fittings, pump mounted in bed and high pressure/temp 1/" injection line fed and mounted into engine bay. Got toggle switch mounted and power wire run under cab. So still gotta*) Wire up the controller to power in cab and bolt id down behind the emergency brake pedal.*) Drill and TAP my air-intake manifold elbow*) Buy some decent methanol mix. in AZ not as easy to come by at -20c.TEST :hyper:Then buy and install a check valve and maybe a low fluid level sensor+LED.

My shocks are shot...
Yeah - I have Bilstein 5100's and did a lot of research. Can't say I am overly impressed. They are better than stock - but its not like night/day. I am sure they would be better offroading. But for highway, light offroad - wasn't best bang for $$
