  1. I got about 150k out of my rebuilt turbo, dont know were I got it its been to long now. But I was kinda upset that I only got 150k out of it. I always let it cool off before shut down. Anyway any good suggestions?
  2. Let me run this by ya. My driveway slopes a little forward so when I start I let it idle put in rev. and it will roll forward 2 feet if I let it. Is this the torque converter building up pressure. Usually when I let it set for a few days, if I let it set 8-9 hours its ok it will go right into gear.
  3. My 05 is still doing ok I guess as long as I dont pull with it, but there will come a point when I start using it more. When I first got it 2012 it had 32k on it and burnt fluid, I flushed it several times, put deep pan on and replaced pressure switch and larger solenoid, adjust bands. Just dont trust it, who makes a good auto trans? The most power I plan to do is maybe 75 hp injectors.
  4. Posting for a guy that works for me. He was messing around checking things and discovered the turbo caked in oil from the breather tube. The truck has 200k. It was a over the road car hauler. It runs good whats going on there?
  5. So have I missed something? I been running Amsoil for 150k. I know not everyone likes Amsoil but.
  6. My NV4500 has been jumping out of 5th for about a year now (maybe 3 times a month). It doesnt jump out hard it just slips out no bad grinding. I changed the oil a few weeks ago and had two 1/4 inch chunks of metal laying in the bottom. The good thing is they hadnt been picked up or chewed on. She has 315K now so I am just going to see how far she will go.

  9. Inj pump fuse, I think its the second fuse up from the bottom left. Its the rectangle fuses. But somebody should chime in soon that knows.
  10. Well just got in from draining the trans. and not good. I ran my magnet around in there and came out with two small chunks of gear and a bunch of fine metal shavings. I hate to run it till it fails because I sometimes haul heavy. Who would be good to just buy a rebuilt 4500 from.

  12. Some of yall may remember me posting about my truck just not running right. Biggest thing was no HP and lugging when letting out the clutch. No codes no exact anything really, so one day I had my friend come over with his scanner. We ran through all history and codes(this has been done no telling how many times and never caught it) and injector function when we finally noticed the inj pump voltage was 11.2 and we both not knowing for sure but thought this should be at least 12 volt. So I call Moparman and he said to change out fuse for inj pump, and there it was voltage jumped 12.6 truck noticeable running better. So we ohm the fuse because it looked fine, 0.002 to 0.018 just kinda jumping around. Needless to say she has all new fuse now and working on replacing all relays. These fuses have been in the truck since 2001 and sooner or later everything gets tired. Oh symptoms were eng. would die for a split second and run again. It would go as long as 2 months and never do it again, when I parked it it did it 50 times in 20 miles. Replace them fuses fellas.
  13. I have been getting diesel from my coop and noticed the fuel is clear. What is this? Being in the south I have no experience with winter fuel, is this winter fuel or cheap crap fuel.

  15. This is the connections I have and I think that could be the problem I am having. Fuel pressure is 16 and will drop to 13-14, and it acts like it is running out of fuel. I still have not got around to pulling code from ecm. But my thought on that is if it was a vp death code it would show on the dash with the key trick. It will start dying off and pick back up and do this until I let of the pedal and get back into it, it will either be fine or I have to do it all over again. It my be fine for two weeks and do it again the next hour or so and then go for a month. 3 apps and all three do the same thing. It has 1693 stored just have not found a good scan tool. These cheap ones show nothing. I am leaning towards air in the line, but have no issues with fuel pressure.
  16. I know when it comes to computers I am dumb as a rock, but I cant find anything I know is in here. For example fuel filter numbers, I get filter # but no water sep. John had a write up on all kinds of filters and I cant find nothing. I think its Baldwin 1275 and Donaldson 551315 for AirDog ?

  18. Ok I got my other volt meter and set it at 4 volts acv and ,o30. I also ran the heck out of her today, I pulled 34k with the ac on and lights on for about 15 miles. I mean I had my foot in it 21lbs boost all most all the way 1-1100 egt and she's stock. And it never missed a lick ran good. Go figure
  19. I have a better meter at the shop, I think I remember it has lower settings. Thanks for the reply's, I will get back with ya tomorrow afternoon.
  20. Ok on my meter it has ACV 750 OR 200. On 750 it reads 029 On 200 it reads 30.2 I have no idea what that means, this is a cheap meter, I have a good one at the shop that is a better meter. Can anyone make since of this?
  21. I may not explain this good but here goes. I need to test the alt for feed back, my apps or something is causing it to feel like its running out of fuel. It doesn't cut out hard, it has that running out of fuel feel to it. The more you mash the pedal no help its dead, let it all the way up then start back into it and it will either accelerate or you have to let it up again then it will run ok. It may run all day and never do it again or it has done it 1/2 dozen times. No codes, well it has a 1693 but nothing in there. I have put three diff. apps on and they all do the same. Fuel filters are clean, fuel pressure is 15. I just cant find the write up. Thanks
