  1. 05- 3500 - auto
  2. I asked about this 6 months ago and cant seem to find it. But anyway trans shift patter is all over the place. Today rpm 2300 and would not shift, let off the throttle and it would shift. Some times it will skip 2nd and go into third shift back down to 2nd then back to third. Someone suggested pressure solenoid and something else, I need help with what something else is. lol
  3. Anybody see the Bugatti that ran 241 mph? Some straight away in Idaho. Saw it on line.
  4. What micron filter do they use at the pump? What ever it is I am sure they don't replace it enough.
  5. My Dad put me on a mini bike when I was 6 road for 26 years after that, let me tell you I can share some really bad ones that I should not be here, but I will just give you the last one. I hit the back of tractor trailer doing 70mph, this was before the new law that trailer had to have a bumper. I do not know what saved my life but the people there said they heard a loud bang. I remember the tail lights of the trailer and I just rolled off to the left. Both the rims on the left where centered with the axle. I guess the air pressure of the tires blowing out could have save me I don't know. They said I refused ambulance service, some people got me out of the media and propped me up against a Fox photo hut. lol That should tell you how long ago that was. All I could do was ask hows my scooter. I went to the doctor 5 hours later when a friend of mine found me, I was talking to people that weren't even there. 22 stiches in my head, broke foot, dislocated knee, broke hand, road rash every where. I did put my bike back together, only put 600 miles on it in 2 years then lost all desire to ride. I still love getting in the wind now and then but its over. I hope your son rides with care, real care from here on out. Its no joke out there this days. I wasn't going to tell this part but it may help others. I was riding with another biker, he was in the far left lane of two lane hwy and I was in the right lane. Cars where coming up on us fast so I motion to him to move over to the right lane and let the cars pass. I moved all the way over to the right hand side of right hand lane. I felt something wasn't right so I looked back to see what was up. He stopped moving over in the right hand side of the left lane. I looked fowared and the truck was there stopped in the hwy, dead stop. The guy I was riding with had warrants out on him so he took off, thanks Howard. But he did call my friend who found me.
  6. This rad was only 8 years old and its leaking were the tank meets the rad, I just figured seal ate up.
  7. Some might remember me freaking out about my radiator rusting up so fast. Well I can tell you this, don't ever use radiator flush even if it says its ok for aluminum. It might ok for aluminum but it dang sure not good for the rubber seal around the tanks. New radiator 191.00
  8. Not really deceleration, about mid way, just kinda coasting. I say welded I really don't know, all I know is sometime it goes right in and sometimes it is mushy and does not feel like the rest of the gears. It has it has about 110k since it was worked on so it may not be welded.
  9. It did it about 6 months ago and I just shrugged it off. Yesterday it jumped out twice, It has new oil in it. When I bought the truck it just had fifth gear fixed to keep it from falling off. I am thinking they welded it on because sometimes you shift and its smooth and other times its mushy and does not feel like its all the way in. What I do is go to neutral and back to fifth and it feels right then. Can this be a easy fix or just can it and get another trans, it has 294k on it. If can it who would you recommend ?
  10. I put straight water in it yesterday and ran it a little then this morning I put 10 miles on it and drained the water by pulling the lower hose. Went ahead pulled the tstat put in Hawaiian stat in flushed again. I think its going to be ok.
  11. When you put it that way Ok in my situation I should run it or is the damage already done?
  12. Ok but is small air craft fuel still the same as back in the 70's with lead or have they removed it from everything. Because there are still a lot of older planes out there from the sixtys that needed the leaded fuel. The lead kept the valves from beating the heck out of the seats and piston damage. Race fuel is 10.00 gal and air craft is 4.50. big diff. He's not really that high in compression to require 115 octane which is race fuel. He also cant run additive due to IMCA rules. Rules say pump gas, but nothing about ari craft fuel, which is pump gas. They test for additive. thanks
  13. Ok sounds good, You know I still cant get over the corrosion, like the guy posted he had not changed his coolant sence he bought the truck. I go 8-9 months and its toast. wth
  14. Fill me in on the wix stuff.
  15. My son races dirt track and we were talking the other day about the cost of race fuel. Any way his motor is not real high in compression somewhere about 160 psi. I made the comment that we used to run airplane fuel in our hot rods back in the day we just went to the airport and top off with 110 octane. You get about 50/50 from people who say no you cant run aircraft fuel it will hurt your eng. and you here people say I been running it for years with no problem. What are your thoughts? Thanks
  16. Belive it or not its not as bad as it looks. I used a flush and yes it had crud coming out, but cleaned up quick, I have seen worse. I am going to run water on the way to town and get another flush to run in it just incase. Man I hate to slam Prestone but that's what I used, my 05 has the same thing and it looks good, but it doesnt get driven much. Anyway its coming out just incase. I cant belive it, it makes no sense. What I normally do is check the oil look over at the water bottle, look around a bit and close the hood. Well not anymore, pull the cap and see whats going on. Its like you put salt water in it or something. I will run this by yall and see what you think, When I flush the old fluid out I always pull the Tstat and back flush, its just something I have always done. Ok now we have water in the block, I then dump two gal. antifreeze concentrate then 50/50 to top it off. Right or wrong?
  17. Why would you sell it?
  18. I bought this eng about two years ago and when I put it in I used green, what it had before that I don't know. When I change it it was the second time since I bought it. In other words it had about a year on it when I changed. And it looked fine then.
  19. If I abused my equipment I could understand this, but I just changed antifreeze and Tstat about 8-9 months ago. Like the title says WHAT happen. I talked to Michael a little while ago and the only thing we came up with is, rust settled in the block and began its reaction after flush. Because I flush every time I change the Tsat and antifreeze. I just don't get it. I changed my 05 about 30 days later, real close to the same date, same brand of antifreeze and it looks just fine.
  20. No exhaust brake, at that time I had a chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 To me its like some people got to have a 4x4, its there when you need it, same for a dully. When you need to haul its there. Dully is good and stable when hauling, a lot less road walking.
  21. My son runs a small block chevy in a sport mod. and we been running Amsoil and are thinking of switching to Gibs racing oil. Has anyone here seen any statistics to compare oils ? I tried to do a search with no luck and thought I would try here seeing we have so many folks here with knowledge on a little bit of everything.
  22. So whats going on ?
  23. If you were riding with me twenty years ago when the trailer I was pulling got away from me hauling down hill and the trailer pushing you from bar ditch to bar ditch, you would not be asking this question. LOL I will never drive anything else. Got two of them in the garage now. JMHO
  24. Lucas trans fix, ok will do. You know back when it was cold it wouldn't shift into high when below 50. Had to pull over set there for 20 seconds and take off and it would shift just fine the rest of the day.
