  1. So I am coming home and notice my egt's are higher than normal and she is lugging some so I change filters and not much help so I do the key thing and thats what I got. I know I have one somewhere in my nightmare of original eng parts :lmao:but why is the egt's higher than normal?Now I got to remember how to set apps anybody got a handdy link?
  2. As long as it does not have a cat. on the exhaust I would run it. Although I ran my 05 with the cat. still on it and didnt hurt anything. As far as the VW do somemore checking with the guys and see, I dont know. I do know I would pour the PS in the drain pan the next time you change your oil that stuff is crap.
  3. I know there is a place to plug in under the dash for the controller but is there a three way plug that can be pluged in in the back somewhere for the plug in the bed for goose neck hook up?Did I splain that right:think:

  6. This post is for a friend who is having a knocking noise coming from mid section of eng. I say mid because it really does not sound like the lower end like you would hear on a gas motor, thats how I am compairing it because thats what I am used to. And never heard a diesel lower end knock just because they are so bullet proof.He was pulling a load up a slite hill and it started missing then blew out black smoke then started knocking so he pulled over and shut it off, towed it in. Still had good oil pressure when he shut it off So we cleaned up a set of old injectors I had and put it back together and the miss is gone but still has knock. This truck is stock but for bhaf and exhaust, well it had a old Blue Chip box on it but that was a long while back. And it has 300k on it, SO motor.I think about it and it makes no sence, good oil pressure. Unless he broke a piston
  7. Welders are just like our trucks just because a 1/2 ton will haul it dont mean thats what you need. Go to Airgas and look at there 200 amp migs, best machine for the buck. about 1400.00
  8. Cant find the torque on the inj. bodies. I am talking about the torque on the bodies there self. I cleaned and now putting back together.
  9. I am not following you on dumping 1/2 qt through shifter hole, it's splash fed.

A buddy of mine has a 01 SO motor and he started blowing black and started knocking, well he towed it home and to me it does not sound bad enought to be a lower end knock I think its a fuel related knock. I have a set of HO injectors out of my sons truck my question is will they work in a SO? I dont see there would be a diff. :shrug:He just called and told me just installed a Airdog 150 day before yesterday, I dont see any relationship there, the AD install wouldnt have any efect,.
  11. I have 11 gas a diesel eng. and spend 40 hrs. a year changing oil / switched to Amsiol and cut that in half. Now I go fishing on my savings

Sorry I have not checked on this thread since I started it I will have to fuel up my 01 work truck about Monday or Tues. and I will see what happens then.I dont know where the fuel mileage came from, I just started fueling up at the coop and thats when the higher mileage came into play. My 05, I had to pull my 32' trailer about 60miles so it wont be right to check mileage. But in the 05 I been running the Amsoil concetrate, I bought a case of the stuff so I figured might as well burn it. It is on about 5th tank full, it may have just taken it this long to have and effect I dont know, I really dought it. The bio was the onlything I could come up with, I have heard of power loss with running it before but thought it was at a higher dosage than 5%.Like I said before the 05 has never gotten better than 16 until just recent. Could be the blind hog thing going on
  13. Hit the trip and keep on truckin:lmao2: Mine has been stuck on full for three years, I am so used to checking fuel mileage I dont even need the gauge anymore. Watch the fuel pressure and she will tell you when you need fuel
  14. I started filling my trucks up at the coop, no particular reason. Anyway I always hand calculate my full mileage each fill up so I filled up and wow 17mpg in my 05 It has never goten better than 16. So I was observing the pumps and in fine print and it said 5% bio deisel.Three days later I full up my 01 and she got 16:thumb1: and she weighs 11k loaded with all my junk.This is with two stroke in the tank. Work truck normally gets 14.5 to 15.75. I like this bio stuff, we have never had it around our little town. Pay a little more but hey more mileage.

  17. I got my trans oil sample back and it said it was a little high in tin and some other fiber like clutch. Can anyone help me with what pressure does it should have and where would I check the pressure at? (where to screw into at).
  18. I had the samething happen to me, I didnt get as bad as he did but it will burn the heck out of your nose and lungs.The brake cleaner I used was CRC, big no no when heated. I never us anything but minerial sprits and simple green. And mineral sprits maybe just as bad

  22. I am thinking I need to check my own pressure that way I know what I am dealing with. I am thinking I am about to get stuck with a trans. thats going to make it just till the warranty runs out. I am getting no where with the crappy dealership. So what pressure do these trans run at? --- Update to the previous post... Bump Pump pressure?

I took it to Benny Boyd Dodge in Bastrop Tx and they called the next day and said it was ready.I showed them the oil sample that said it was high in tin and showed signs of fiber from clutch's and it said posiable pressure loss. The first think I did when I got there was check the speedo and it had 3.3 miles on it from the time I droped it off , that's not enough miles to even get it warm.They said there tech test drove it and it's just fine. :mad:The truck has 43k on it and it has 5 months till the warrenty runs out, sounds like they just wont to play the waiting game and see if it will last another 5 months.I asked if they did a pressure test and they said they wernt sure they need to ask the tech.   24. Sounds like the regulator in the alternator is going bad.
  25. Ok so I take my 05 dully to dealership with shifting problems, it's still under warrenty. The trans is skipping 2nd gear then down shift to 2nd then shifts on thru the gears. The service tech ask me how it shifts thru the rest of the gears. I say it shifts thru all five just fine, he tells me it only has 4. So what am I feeling? I am counting five shifts. Or is that the tourqe converter locking up that I feel?
