Timbrens vs Air Bags - Revisited
Your going to get diff ideas on each fourm you go to. I run timbrens as do a lot of welding rigs. My weight is just shy of 11k and I like them. Pipeline welders have a lot to pull, there rig loaded out and the house on wheels can hit 25k. So if your on the road and blow a air bag and you have to test in the next state your out of luck.

Lower EGT'S
That was with stock inj., my ddp 50's need to go back to the shop. I was on the same road again today and I cant belive that just the valve adj did that. I dont know why I didnt notice it before, I have done this on the old eng.- well never mind I just answered my own thought. Anyway, I may try 7 n 17 some time.

Lower EGT'S
Here's what I have, ambient temps have drop pretty good around here. From 108 to 94 today, a pretty good drop, enough to lower egt's? Probably not. I adjusted valves Sunday from 10 - 20 to 8 - 18. Here's the kicker, my egt's have droped overall 150*. My weight is 11k so I am used to seeing high egt's as a norm. I am driving a usuall route when I notice my gauge is lower than normal, I think its stuck so I give it the gas it goes up and I think this is strange. I am thinking this is big news, so I call Mike, he's like yea yea man I like your new found temps but I got to go, can I call you later Kicked to the curb! Just kidding Mike no biggie. I noticed the turbo spools faster no doubt, but you think it would make that much diff? I am cruising at 60 flat road and egt's 575 that has never been before, it should have been at least 675.

Speaking of Bad Batterys
If they are that new they might bounce back. If you have a 2 amp trickle charger I think it might work.

My Nexted Welding Truck
It's fixed, too many turbos and blowers flying around:lmao2: I just got a kick out of the governor thing, I to been around a few run aways. The joke around the clay feild was if you could hear it you where to close:lmao:

My Nexted Welding Truck
You ever heard a two stroke Detroit run away with it's self? The blower was removed and with a five speed trans it would be a little difficult to shift gears with the blower mounted.

I live in a area where we have lot's of caliche rd's and I can only get about 40k on mine. This year has been really bad as we have not had rain in months and dust is a constant problem. And as everyone knows when you back up with one of our trucks it blows dirt everywhere. So use your own judgement on changing. With my 5 inch exhaust I can tell when it's getting restricted by listening for the turbo whistle, it will fade when it needs blowing out.

My Nexted Welding Truck
I am sorry about that my brain is still at work. Yea 6-71 and sure nuf the blower capped off. The gear ratio is so low that it would have blowen the eng. pretty quick. All natrual. The 671 came out of Terx TS-24 scraper.

My Nexted Welding Truck
This one had a 617 Detroit with no blower but still had lots of power.

My Nexted Welding Truck
Back in the mid 80's I worked for a mining co. and we used a duce 1/2 to move water pumps and things you just couldnt get to with out a dozer. That thing would go anywhere, the first time you drive one your hooked.

Possibly big problems, kinda doubt it, need 24V info from the masters

Lost a battery in my 01 and 4 days later I lost one in my 05. Two weeks before that put new tires on both trucks.

After the Fire
It missed us by two miles, I know that sounds like a lot but with the winds blowing 30-40 mph it could go anywhere. It's still only 70% contained, ended up travling 25 miles long and 19 miles wide. 1900 homes lost and only two died. One is to many but, one guy had to go back for his tools, told his wife I am right behind you, she didnt see him and knew that's what he did, sure nuf that's where they found him. It started on the 4th and there still fighting it.

Oil Truns Black Quick
X2 I have a friend with a, cant remember the cam! Anyway hands down big improvment.

After the Fire
You would not belive the heat involved, words cant describe it. Aluminum wheels melted into three foot circles one inch thick, eng., blocks melted out of the frame, nothing but the cam and lifters on the ground. Absolutely nothing left but ash, cows turned to ash. Propane tanks blowen to h___ and back, wraped around trees like horse shoes. Huge pine trees with nothing but stumps, the ones still standing look like tooth picks. A real feeling of emptyness.
