  1. This is some good advice. Time Honored & Some sound advice! TIPS ON PUMPING GAS I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in California we are paying up to $3.75 to $4.10 per gallon. My line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon: Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose, CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons. Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps. When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money. One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount. Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up; most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom. To have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gasbuyers. It's really simple to do. I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If It goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would it take
  2. I cant belive the nerve this, I cant even call him a man.http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/306328 --- Update to the previous post... In five days it has burned 125k acres in three countys. 1500 homes just in Bastrop county. I think 400 homes in Travis. And this is not enough to call a disaster. I'd laugh if I could.
  3. Ok my trans will skip 2nd when your light on the throttle and go straight to 3rd and when you start easing into it it will down shift to second then go thru the gears just fine. Is this what they call hunting? It's not just doing it one or two times a day it will do it almost everytime, except if you are heavy on the throttle.
  4. I know what ya mean, I order parts for my jobs and sometimes it is almost as much as the part. Ordered some hinges, there (pretty big) but man 25.00 shipping?

  6. Were not in it yet, the winds have been from the north for 4-5 days and they are suposed to start coming from the south tonight. I just pray they have it under control behind it because it will get us if not. Right now it is 30 miles long and 25 miles wide that was this morning. The winds have been 5-10 mph today thank god and they have it 30% contained. We have 4 people so far that are close friends that have lost it all. This drought is the worst on record, we beat every record there is heat, wind, no rain, 75 plus days over 100. Here's the bad thing for the people here that others dont relise yet is it will take a rancher who has not sold everything he has 6 years to build his heard up, because next year he cant buy, the price will be double and a nother 3 years to start making a profeit. Geuss who will start figuring it out then? Thats right you and me when we are paying double. The sale barns here have been full every week for 10 weeks. Lets take the one just down the road from me. They can hold 18 hundered head, thats 18k in just one lot in ten weeks. If you think it wont efect you think again those 18k head would have had a lot of offspring. The deer and the rest of the wild life are dieing off. On my property I used to have 6-10 does that lived behind my house for 30 years on average. They been gone for weeks.
  7. It started Sunday about 1pm, winds gusting 30-40 mph broke a power line. The brush is so dry it just exploded in fire. There where about 8 fires in a 30 mile radius. It was total kaos people where freaking out.The fire close to me is the largest, it has burned 45k plus acers and burned 650 homes. You can see this one from space. We have only had 6 inches of rain since February. We live close to what is known as Lost Pines of Tx. it's probly gone now. The total fire burned here in Tx is 3.4 million acers and several thousand homes. Here's some pics my family took.
  8. Well guys it's nothing but fire and ashes down here. It has missed me this time. 14k acres has burned just in my aera from 2pm till 8pm, winds gust to 50mph. There are fires burning all over the state. The one close to me you can see on weather radar. There are 300 homes burned in my area, these numbers will triple by tomorrow I am sure.
  9. Just like cutting a circle, stretch it around a pipe or something and add on to it. Sorta like a spiral stair case.
  10. If your trying to put a 24 valve cummins in a 01 2500 gaser, yes it will work. BUT you will need to use your wiring out of the cummins and all the brake boost. A heck of a job. You got a Chevy s10 you could put the cummins in?
  11. Were talking hood latch on dodge? I have a 01 or 05 I can get a pic right now. --- Update to the previous post... Will this help http://www.andysautosport.com/hoods/chrysler_cirrus.html

  16. The five inch on my welding tk is a 24" straight thru. All I really wont is a good rumble. 40 inch sounds like a lot of muffler:shrug: This is why I am asking, maybe my 24" is to loud. I dont get a chance to here my truck go by:lmao2:It just dawned on me I dont know where I got the five inch. THe 4" was the MBRP and I dont remember what muffler it had on it. CRS comes with hitting 51.
  17. What is your option on brands of 4" exhaust? I am running a MBRP 5" on my 01 its ok but a little to much for the newer truck. And tell you the truth I think I lost low end torque with the 5".Its been a while since I played with exhaust. I went thru 4 sets on my 01. Stock 3", 4" straight, 4" muffler, 5" straight with 5" stacks, to 5" muffler. I am sure there is some new stuff by now.
  18. I would freeze to death because I couldnt load three of those logs with out a set of ramps or a tractor.
