  1. Ok, so mine is hooked to the batt. I may not be from Missouri but your going to have to shom me. What is the PDC box
  2. I been dumping 1 qt to a tank in both my 01 and my 05. My 01 makes a little noise and the extra oil helps keep it happy.
  3. I too learned the hard way, I had a K&N and it had dirt and junk caked all the way to the intercooler.BHAF is the only way to go.

  5. I have had a weird problem with mine (150) for a while also. Sometimes it has 17.5 then a little while later it will be 14.5 then back up to 17

You need to do some testing for sure, but it sounds to me that the clicking noise on the right side of eng, after pulling on wires is the ac kicking in and out.It sound to me you have major wiring problems that just started with the charging system and is working it,s way around.You can find wiring harness for about 100.00 and it not hard to install.
  7. Now that Ive seen all the parts in the pump I am totally convinced you will never get a complete rebuilt from anyone.

  9. Back in the day they didnt put metal, lead and such in the oil for friction. It probably was ok back then, I used to do the same thing.
  10. Somewhere around here there is a write up where this guy ran atf at about 50% and the concave part of the piston filled up with deposits and eng ran away blew pistons out the side of block.
  11. My first Ez came with a boost elbow, when I removed the first Ez it kept throwing CEL so I put the old elbow back in and all was fine. I put the second Ez in and put the boost elbow back in, now that Ez is removed again I am able to leave the boost elbow in, but I also have a new ECM. I have not thrown any CEL this time around.
  12. Sorry I havent been around for a while. What do you mean by give back the boost fooler? My biggest worry now is running the right timing while pulling all the weight. I think the timing is what went haywire in the Ez,it clattered bad when cold. Comp sounds good
  13. Ok, my Ez is toast so where to go from here? I weigh 11k and hook to trailers on top of that so I need something for pulling, and fuel mileage. I thought about putting my 50hp DDP's back in and leaving it like that but I dont know what I wont to do so here I am What do you think.
  14. Just my two pennys here but I would not by from a wrecking yard. I went to a yard and they told me yea this motor came out of our yard truck and it only has 87k on it for 3k. I look on the oil filter and it says due 337k :lmao:Thanks but no thanks. It took me a while but found one on CL out of a wrecked truck. I still wished I would have built one.

  16. I started my 05 this morning and went back in the house to let it warm up some. I can hear it when the grids kick in and out, anyway after the grids where done it went to high idle all on it's own. Is this stock feature? So I get in truck and give accelator a tap like you would a carborator gas eng and it idles down so then I back out and set in the drive and it starts high idle again. Anyway I drive about 60 miles to pick up a load of pipe and while I am being loaded it goes into high idle again. The nose is pointed to the north and it's cold about 32 and I had been setting about 10-15 min. When I got back to truck it had idled back down.I am still suspicious that this truck my have a programmer. Is all what I am experincing normal (stock)

  18. I dont know but I know I am done with the EZ. Now that I have had it unpluged I cringe at the thought I left it in for so long. Hope I didnt hurt the motor.
  19. Due to cost I would stay with stock. I dont belive they help until your over 400hp. I'll sell you a stock one.
  20. Yea this is the one they sent in replace of the last one. Cant say anything bad about them they sent the new one right away. The only thing is it set on the shelf for three months while I had trouble with the old motor, then I didnt run it till I was sure this motor was going to hold up and I bet it dont have three months under the hood. And the old one was corroded big time, big 10-4 on the under the hood problem.
  21. I started hearing a louder clatter in my eng about two weeks ago and just blew it off as colder temps in the morning. Well it blew smoke at ambient temp of 65 and when I accellerated it smoked blue a little heavy so went to shop and disconected Edge Ez and no more clatter and no more smoke. What the heck is up with that?Also my boost elbow is still hooked up, I have not thrown any codes yet, should I leave it hooked up or is it defeating it's purpose? The last time I left it hooked up it kept throwing codes.
  22. My 01 squeeks everytime also, dont think it's a big deal because it will squeek when belt is old and new. And maybe my tensioner is a little week but it has not efected anything in 5 years Ive had it. My 05 does not squeek
  23. When I got mine from the cummins shop they asked me which one I wanted the 180 or 195. I got the 195 and it is in a cummins box. I didnt ask about the 180. As far as hotter, not sure,but have heard people speak of running 210. Mine never gets to 205 even pulling my 32' flat bed. Coures I have not pulled it loaded yet, my truck weight is 11k as it is. One day I will load my 4030 John Deere and take a pic. I should have got a pic of it loaded with the D4C(34k). I think that's what gave my last motor the little hick up it had:lmao2:
