  1. What is it doing? I have one and haven't touched it since install.
  2. Its been a while since I have commented here, but I was moveing. I think I'll go with ARP studs and maybe rv275's while I'm at it. I was looking for gaskets and found there are several differant thicknesses. What is stock, and what are the others for? Different compression?

  4. Thanks for the input everyone. I want to fix it but time and money are short. I think i'll check the torque and research a little before I try adding anything to the cooling system, but it sounds interesting. I'll try to get a picture this weekend if I can get a camera in there. Is a stock gasket pretty good or are there aftermarket ones that are better. Stock lasted almost 200000
  5. I just found a leak on the rear of the head at the gasket. It leaks coolant but only when its cold. Once its hot it stops. Is there anything I can do to get a little more time out of it? Will it cause any damage to wait if I keep a close watch on it? Also should I have the head gone through when I have it off? Should I get head studs, and does someone have a kit with studs and all the gaskets? Thanks for any advice (192,000 miles)
  6. I didn't see any sign of contact on the housing but I will check the play. Is it hard to rebuild if its worn? Where would I get parts? Thanks for the info
  7. My tubo sounds differant than it did before, and I was wondering how to check it. I did visual checks and pulled the intake tube off. There is a small amount of play in the shaft but I don't know what the specs are. I still have good power and boost but EGT's may be up a little (200 more maybe).
  8. I was just wondering what kind of oil is recomended for my trans. I know what the owners manual says but what does that translate to at the parts store.
  9. I have seen magnets for oil filters at JC Whitney I think. They may not be as strong but they wrap around the whole filter. I'll have to check where I saw those.
  10. I plug mine in anytime it might get cold enough to need the intake heater (which is almost every night in the winter)

  14. Is there a way to install heated seats in my truck? Was it ever an option or is there an after market kit anyone has heard of?
  15. I replaced my APPS with one from Timbo and it fixed my problem. Great product . Easy to install (about 20 minutes) and excellent instructions. Thanks to everyone for the input and advise.
  16. I get that too but it has done that since I had the truck. I just leave it on the TOW setting and its fine. My camper isn't that heavy to need setting 5. Can you adjust it to be less sensitive?
  17. Yeah its not really missing it feels like i'm moving my foot up and down slightly. Sometimes it feels like it is slow to respond to pedal movement.
  18. I had Oriellys check for codes. I have 19-20psi at idle and 17-18 WOT
  19. Well there were not any codes so I guess that's good. Is there anything else I need to check before replacing the apps?
  20. Sorry I haven't responded sooner I have been a little under the weather. Haven't checked the codes yet but my fuel pressure is around 18 to 19 psi and it happens during constant speeds without cruise. Thanks for all the input. I'll try to check for codes tomorrow
  21. I have noticed my truck surging a little latly and was wondering if it could be the APPS. It feels like driving into a gusty wind. Would it give a code if it was acting up? I havn't check for any yet.

  23. What would happen if you just wired the lift pump to the battery with a switch?
  24. check for a "53" block. May be fine but would pay less for one.
  25. While installing my AD150, I also found the suction/return lines were rusted. The AD came with the draw straw that goes in the tank, not the basket so I'm only using the stock line for the return. Its not leaking now but its pretty weak. Does Vulcan or someone make something for this?
